The Van Buren is a great venue to see a concert. The atmosphere is very chill and Ive never felt cramped in large groups compared to other venues. You should have a good view of the stage nearly anywhere in the place, and Im a short human. It is not incredibly large in size, but its also not small. They have a full bar and the staff is friendly.

This venue is pretty good... You can buy better seats up in the mezzanine. They were great seats. I would recommend bringing ear plugs with you though as the sound can get a little bit loud! (getting older...) The bathrooms were clean and well lit. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves at the Ice Nine Kills concert!

Excellent concert venue. Large enough to have fun, but small enough that the show still feels intimate. Mezzanine seats were a great place to see and record video from, and featured a bar with drinks and food brought by a server. This time I saw highly suspect who put on an amazing show. Looking forward to seeing Armin Van Buren here in a few months.

This place was great. We sat in the VIP and from the point of contact with the nice lady that I emailed back and forth so my experience was perfect with. To show night, it was awesome. The staff was very friendly which is great considering the area where its at. And to see top names artists in a close intimate environment, makes the show rock more and makes you leavening the event so hyped and wanting more.

I love this place. I remember going to school at ASU years ago when they were renovating the building and hoping that it would be something cool when they were done. Well, they definitely delivered. The Van Buren is a beautiful music venue and there is so much attention to detail in the way it was designed. The aesthetic is great. The space is big enough where you dont feel cramped but small enough to where you can see from anywhere in the venue, even at sold out shows. I have been to numerous shows here and have always had a great experience. Everyone working there from security to the bartenders have been extremely friendly and helpful. I love how there is always a variety of events - from concerts to dance parties and more. Something for everyone for sure. They get some awesome people booked here, too. Always a great experience and a venue that I think Downtown Phoenix really needed. Love it there!

Great place to see a show! Weve never been here before but my husband bought tickets 4 months ago for Tyler Childers. They sold out quick. If you get there a couple of hours earlier you can meet the band as they come off the bus. We got there an hour earlier and missed them. The line was already around the building but we still got our food and drinks pretty fast. The lines were much longer 30 min later. It was amazing how close to the band you can get! The pulled pork Frys were delicious but small for $10! The 24 oz beer was $10. But considering we only paid $28 for our tickets it was worth it.

This is a really sweet venue. It has an old timey vibe, its small and intimate, and you can see the stage no matter where you are. The restroom is big and very clean. The bar has a nice selection. They also have outside seating, and they are connected to a pizza place so you can grab food before to show. Beautiful venue. I saw Sleater-Kinney there and the show was exceptional.

I like this venue for shows, but the general admission, standing room only, is for the birds. My legs, hips, ankles, and lower back started hurting an hour into the show. And there was no where to sit, close by the stage, to enjoy the bands performing. Other than that, very cool venue!

Very cool venue. This was my first time attending a show here so I wasnt sure what to expect. Parking was simple at one of the many lots close by ($5 to park for a downtown event is a bargain in my experience). Entry into the venue was easy as well. Security was ever present but cool. I didnt see any harassment. The main entrance is awesome with the chandeliers and the bar was well staffed. In the ballroom, there really isnt a bad place to be. The band was always visible in this big open room. The sound system definitely kicks! While I prefer a bit more highs in the overall mix, the low end was astounding. You could feel the bass punching you in the chest and I love that!Overall, a great experience. Ill definitely be back for more.

Went to a music concert at this venue in the evening. First of all be aware that there is only one public parking lot that I found close to the venue and they charge about $15 to $20 to park. The other lot is for a church and is closed. And if youre lucky you can find a metered parking space somewhere along the streets and you do have to still pay I believe its $1.00 an hour. The new meters allow you to use a debit card but if you get an older meter youre stuck using only coins so be aware. And there is no secure parking. The venue looks very new and clean inside and out. visibility located. Security checks you in and checks IDs for drinking. Various typical items not allowed like most venues. You wait in line outside to enter. Inside the bar is big and available. Food and drinks are served upstairs if you pay for premium seats. Downstairs is mostly standing to watch the concert with general admission. There are benches also available to sit downstairs for an additional charge. You can upgrade to any seating once you enter the venue. Debit or cash is welcome. Even a tab if you sit upstairs for the venue. The sound is great and the venue feels close and personal. The bathrooms are big with multiple stalls and sinks to use and very clean for a venue. Great place to see a concert. Just my experience. Enjoy

This place is one of the best venues for a concert I’ve ever been to. The stage and floor are smaller so you get a great view no matter where you stand. Stunning! Good acoustics (at least where we were on the ground, stage left), good sound production. We saw Iron and Wine there recently and were totally impressed by the renovations. Definitely my favorite venue now, although I think accessibility options could be clearer both on their site and during the ticket purchase process. Basically plan on getting there when doors open (theres dining outside) if you want to score a seat in the small bleacher area or at one of a few cocktail tables around the parameter. Theres a balcony as well, but its stair accessible and requires a wristband. The main floor is ground level, which is great for wheelchair access but its also standing room apart from the options above. If you are in a wheelchair, you might want to call and ask if they have a more accessible option that doesnt compromise your view/experience.

Really cool music venue that opened recently in downtown Phoenix. A large bar, satellite bars, a very nice mezzanine that looks down on the floor, and a good size stage. This might be the only place that you are actually tempted to take pictures in the bathroom of the tile and faucets! Only downside is that the floor does not slope so if youre smaller be sure to get there early and get towards the front. They do, however, have bleachers along the side that can be saving grace if you cant see over people.

The venue located in downtown Phoenix area has a lot to offer for a local venue. Bring in some great headliners that seem to never disappoint. The entry process is fast and seem less and all the staff is genuinely there for you to enjoy yourself. Bartenders always have a smile on, even during their busiest moments. They are quick and reasonable. There is food in the courtyard that you can grab a bite and a beer on the way in or you have a pizza joint that is also a bar connected to The Van Buren. This is a top-notch theater. Our band, The Who Experience (a tribute to the greatest rock band of all time, The Who) performed at The Van Buren on August 17, 2019 and it was one of the most memorable shows of my life.Where to begin... The staff were outstanding. They were so accommodating and we were taken care of from the moment we arrived. The stage crew were so well prepared and professional that we felt completely at ease. The sound engineer was probably the best Ive ever worked with. His skills were nothing short of amazing. He was able to sound-check 3 bands and create perfect audio with ease. And, the PA system was absolutely amazing (thanks to the sound crew). The crowd was engaged and very friendly. The back-stage area was 5 star. Our dressing room was equipped with private shower, bathroom and very comfortable furniture, with a private refrigerator for our drinks. The common area, shared with the other performers for the evening, was stocked with drinks and was so comfortable that I was completely relaxed and ready to perform.I would recommend this theater to any professional acts performing in the Phoenix AZ area.

Security does not do a good job screening people. A lot of transients around, so be safe and stay in groups when going to your car.
