I love this place. The primary theatre professionals engaged here also have education degrees. Having seen other childrens theatre programs, this one really stands out. Why? They treat the children like young professionals - and that is what my child likes the most. They teach them about music, acting, choreography, but also about personal responsibility and teamwork. My sons best friends are at MacGuffin. And their shows rival professional theatre, and sometimes even surpass it. Some students have become a success in theatre, but most find their talent and have a great venue to showcase it before going on to college. I cannot say enough about this outstanding entity.
Its great for Young actors that wish to grow their talent in a supportive community.
MacGuffin quickly became my daughter’s second home. She takes all of the classes, goes to summer camp there, and performs in the musical productions and the Open Mic Nights. And she’s looking forward to being part of the Shakespeare production in the spring. She can’t get enough of the place, and, quite frankly, my husband and I feel the same way. We have made so many friends at MacGuffin, and our daughter has close friendships there with kids of all ages. MacGuffin is such a warm, supportive, energetic, and creative community.
Awesome theater experience. Small space you almost fell like a part of the show.
A fantastic theater program for children ages 4 to 18! John Rea, the founder and director of MacGuffin since 1988, provides, along with the other wonderful instructors, weekly classes, a summer camp program and several full productions during the year. A great program for both children who love acting and those who want to try it out for the first time!
Literally the place that helped my little girl find her voice! My shy kid sang a solo and felt confident and prepared to do so in a paced and developmentally appropriate manner. Cant wait for her next show and to get my younger son involved when he is old enough!
The most amazing instructors, classes, productions and camps! They teach skills that translate onto the stage and beyond - confidence, hard work, collaboration and more. Best part, they are a warm and welcoming community that supports the kids and helps them be their best. If your child is into musicals, plays, comedy improv, choreography or just having fun, then MacGuffin is the place for them!
MacGuffin provides an incredibly warm and inclusive community for children who enjoy acting, singing and improvisation.
