Intimate performance space. Really, not a bad seat in the house. Caveat being the limitations to access to anyone who might be impaired or unsteady on their feet. Stairways down to restrooms are steep and frankly, a little scary. We saw a Flamenco performance and it was great. Sight lines, lighting, acoustics all fine.

I saw Lay Me Down Softly. Cheap ticket. Good company. They had a good set and a good team. Very very very Irish. (Not sure if thats the theater or just the show; I was touristing.) Would recommend especially for the fans of Eugene ONeil.

Cute, intimate theater that I attended for a double date valentine day experience. Has a bar in the very next room! Offered Valentines themed drinks at $6, great deal. Didnt try but the atmosphere was pleasant. No reason to not return.

Saw Lay Me Down Softly during the very slow Labor Day weekend. Sweet little theater on a lovely, quiet street. Impressed with the talent and professionalism of this troupe. Im sure they would bring same to any production. Will be returning.

Loved the 1812 Productions show This Is The Week That Is!!! Intimate neighborhood theater. Not a bad seat in the house. The only drawback is that the bathrooms are not handicapped accessible (you have to go down a flight of stairs).

I love this little theater. The seats are a bit cramped but the auditorium is tiered so that you can easily see the stage unimpeded.A little nicer snack bar would be nice too.

The show was good but not as good as in years past. I am a heavy woman and I could barely fit in the seat. It was actually painful to sit. It was a tortuous time for me. Just to add: I fit well in movie theater seats, so the seats at Plays and Players seem extra small.

The last community theatre in Philly. Still going strong but mostly a rental house now. Not much community theatre but stacks of professional companies rent the main house & the Skinner Studio on the 3rd floor. And dont miss Quigs Pub next to the Skinner on the 3rd floor - Phillys theatre glitterati hang there all the time. Its members only so turn up at 10pm, join up & hang until 2. Cash bar only.

Their This Is The Week That Is show is not to be missed (been going for many years). It is part Daily Show, part SNL and the cast jams to a tune at the end. I have been to their other shows which include some very good ones and some average ones.

We attended a performance of Plough and the Stars and I cant say enough or tell enough of my friends how much we enjoyed this performance. The actors really drew you into the drama and their characters. The dialect was a nice addition and I could hear my Grandparents and great Aunts and Uncles in there...i liked very much that they did this performance with the accents. it was a small audience for a Thursday night but the cast played it like they were performing for a packed house full of v.i.ps. it was wonderful.
