Two thumbs up for this place. quick and friendly service.
I found this bar via Instagram and submitted a form online. My friends and I enjoyed the evening. The bucket cocktails were great. $30 regularly for the 86oz and they had 1 flavor on special for $20. One 86oz was enough for 3 people to share. We were there on 90s Night which was great. The live band played a variety of covers and interacted with the crowd. The Happy Hour appetizers are cleared away at 8 PM on the dot, so if thats your twist, get there early. The selection included mac and cheese, beef meatballs and little buffalo chicken cheese steak sandwiches. I was surprised to see such hearty food at the free appetizer buffet. The ladies bathroom was clean and there is even an attendant to help keep traffic moving. Overall, we had a good time, drank 3 buckets, sang to our hearts content, and would return with more friends another time.
My bestie and I celebrated our Birthdays here last night! We did the jump the line package and that was a super special perk, highly recommend. The atmosphere was clean, fun, vibrant and the ambiance was just right. This was our second time visiting, and we enjoyed our visit even more than the time before! All the staff were very customer service oriented and kind. We would not hesitate to return again! Thanks for a great night!!
I had a great time here the first time I went, but the second time a couple of my friends were drugged by a fellow patron at the bar. Luckily we were in a big group, and I realized what was going on and left as soon as they started loosing their balance after one glass of alcohol. When we called the bar the next morning, they did not believe us and were not willing to look at the security system to identify who did this. It’s a fun place, but be careful of the philly locals who go here, and make sure you are in a group at all times.
Great spot. Bartenders were cool. Wasn’t feeling the music but I don’t think I came on the right night. But still had an enjoyable time
My daughter, her friends and the parents! had an epic night on Friday Night. The memories of that night will last a lifetime! I really cant say enough about the service, staff and the entertainment. We had a 21st here 3 years ago for our first daughter and it is always a blast! I always recommend to others. Go / Enjoy / Dance on stage / Have fun, you wont be disappointed. If you dont have a good time - Its probably you :)Look the band was awesome! I would only tell them to continue to work on a variety of dance music that gets people dancing. Thanks,Mike SmithHarleysville, PA
A great place for happy hour. They have specials for groups you can sign up for ahead of time which are very reasonable. The music is always a hit as well.
This place is really cool. The music is great. I danced all night! The musician Elaina was off the charts. Friendly staff and good food make this a cool night out. There were groups celebrating, people at the bar, I did check the score of the game at the bar TV screens. I had fun and I was there by myself.
Bar tenders and staff are super nice! Wide age randge but mostly older 20-somethings and 30s. Surprisingly clean. And a fun band played. Wide randge of music too not just a great twist on recent songs but classics as well. Great atmosphere overall!
I went to Howl at the Moon for the first time last night for a friends birthday. The bartenders were amazing, the drinks were great(but super expensive), the bar itself was an okay time. The band however was absolutely horrible! We had to pay a $10 cover per person to listen to what sounded like toddlers playing music. They ruined every single song they played and you couldnt even dance. Definitely not going back for the price you have to pay for horrible entertainment.
Fun atmosphere, but be careful! This can be dangerous. This bar is inexpensive and attracts some questionable people. Be sure to never leave your drink unattended
Fun! Its like a dueling piano bar. Stage is well lit with fun lights and great energy. The band sings songs requested by patrons. It may not be corrupt accurate to the original song, but they they a great job at performing!! I visited for happy hour, it was inexpensive, it wasnt overcrowded, and the staff was attentive. Drinks were ok.
I love this place! The band always plays good music. The drinks and cover are affordable. The Jump the Line option makes everything so much easier though. The customers always seem happy and dance like no one is looking. Well worth a visit.
Neat place with a later happy hour. The dueling pianos/band was pretty legit. Great bartenders and pretty good food
Ive heard great things about Howl at the Moon and was really looking forward to checking it out but the less than stellar band dwindled the excitement. The one male singer was off pitch most songs and when the female singer came on her mic was turned down too low we couldnt hear her at all. However, customer service was excellent! I brought a friend and the two of us not only were kindly greeted at the front door, but were told by a cleaning host that he, Saw us coming in and quickly wiped down the table and prepared it just for us. Drinks were good; Clean and fun atmosphere!
My wife and I came around 8p, so they werent terribly crowded or busy (but it does ramp up as the night goes on). The bartenders service was exceptional and timely. We tried the 86 oz Hurricane bucket, and for around $30 thats enough to get anyone tipsy, or even drunk. The bathrooms were clean and the attendant inside was quite polite. It had lotion, mints, candy, and even cologne to freshen up for your sloppy hook-up. All jokes aside, this is a great place to go.
Love love love! One of my new favorites!I will say I’d appreciate a little less waste, four straws per drink? A little wasteful. BUT that’s not really on the establishment. The bartenders were so polite, offered to make another drink for me when I ordered one I ended up not liking.Live music was fun, they took requests and shout outs. Super fun atmosphere
This is not a dueling piano bar.I have been to many dueling piano bars. This was not like anything a dueling piano bar should be.Our table that we reserved was on dance floor which was surrounded by other patrion heat kept putting there drinks on my table as they were dancing.I mentioned this to staff that we paid $300.00 for this table and nothing was done about it.When I arrived I was given a card with my husbands name on it as he was his birthday. I was to provide this card to piano player for recognition for his birthday .That never happened. It was ignored.Dueling piano players typically joke around with each other during the show amd make it into a “show” and get audience participation. This was not a show at all. I feel I was deceived by the advertised dueling piano bar verses what I actually received .There was zero engagement with piano players to audience. There was no silly banter between the 2 piano players. The stages was constantly packed with other patrons dancing on the stage the entire time we were there. We could not even see the piano players.I would have never spent $300.00 for a table knowing what I know now. I am so incredibly disappointed. If you are looking for a dueling piano bar don’t waste your time
Great night life for. Younger group. Highly recommend
I honestly enjoyed my time here. The crowd was nice and happy. The bar tenders get to you very quickly and know how to make good drinks. The music was great when I was there. Often you may encounter people in private parties and its always fun to join them for some good time. I cannot wait to come here again. And the buckets,... thats definitely something special that I think only this place has. Theyre so worth it!A+++ service and good time.
Good venue, super crowded. Got the 86oz bucket good drink just needed to be mixed more.
They have happy hour till midnight and the menu is pretty varied. $10 at the door. You get the best of both, live band and DJ!
Love coming here! The band is really good and the happy hour specials are always so much fun!
Great bar with great bands. Always have a fun night here!
This place was good time. Good entertainment . Very spacious and a diverse crowd.Recommend
Ok this place is pretty fun. On a Thursday night there were no less than 4 parties happening. Pretty cool and the band that was playing was amazing. Each member played each instrument, more than once for different songs. They of course took requests and played with the audience. Took a little while for drinks but what do you want for a lively crowd. I will definitely be back.
Our company Christmas party was held there, the food was excellent, the drinks where wonderful & the band was the best band I have ever heard, it was a real dope experience, Im definitely going back during regular business time.
Me personally, Im not a fan of the atmosphere. Could be better, but not my type of place
I never wouldve thought I would go to a dueling piano bar, but some of my friends dragged me here when I was visiting Philadelphia. It was actually really really really cool. So color me surprised. I would definitely go back in the time.
It was great the service and the band were very good i give them 5 stars
Tim at the front desk our interaction was perfect! You deserve a raise and an extra 15 minute break!
Its a great place to have a conversation before 9-10 with live music and a great place to party after that time with dance floors and sing alongs. Bartender co.pensated me and my date when certain issues arised when ordering meals. Will definitely recommend to friends!
Cheap drinks and nice entertainment. Not my type of bands but they have a nice set up!
Awesome vibe good music great bartenders
Young dance club.. performers we awesome they can play any song you request.
What a great night life location! Im a huge fan of a dueling piano bar and the vibe was just right. They had the whole band going and people were up on stage dancing. The cover was a bit pricey so if you plan to go, Id suggest spending the evening there although military gets in free! Get a bucket of alcohol to share with your friends. They have one thats 84oz!
Hood deal for Happy hour will be back
Went there for the first time for a private party. Food was not good but band played a variety amd staff was friendly.
Didnt enjoy myself at all.Good venue, a lot of good crowd, but I personally couldnt relate to the music.
Great place, get there early as it gets very crowded. Great drink selection as well
Had a blast! Huge rum buckets were cool to look at with all the neon bendy straws. Delicious too! Performers were wonderful. Bathrooms clean. Bar was packed. Had a lot of fun! Only downfall and why Im not giving 5 stars, is because we were expecting duel piano players vs each other. Not a full on band the whole time. Although band was fantastic. Still just two people playing piano against each other would be better..... at least half the night then bring in the band for the 2nd half. (:
This is not a dueling piano bar. I have been to many dueling piano bars and Howl at the Moon locations in Savanna, Cincinnati, and New Orleans. This is not one of those. For anyone who has ever been to a dueling piano bar you will be disappointed here. This does not have the witty banter or even dueling in the pianos. There was zero crowd work at all when we were there. This is a house band which just happens to have two pianos on the stage. If you are looking for a bar with touristy fruit cocktails this is the place but if you are looking for a Howl at the Moon or the typical dueling piano experience save your time.
I think i might become a regular.
Its was fun, a bit crowded but that was expected because it was a Halloween party. I really didnt care too much for the live band but I still enjoyed myself.
The drinks were good, the atmosphere was nice I guess. However, I paid for my drink with a card and when I checked my bank statement there was an extra $10 charge on my account. When I called about this situation the staff gave me the run around and never called back. They also took an extra $3 out of my friend account as well. This place is a scam. It’s not about the money it’s about the principle. I will NEVER come back to this establishment at all and I mean NEVER.
While I was in the city on a Friday night with imperfect weather, this place was lively and full of people. There was just enough room to get around and get drinks quickly while having a nice crowd of people. The other neat thing about this place is that one side you have more of a club like atmosphere, and the other more of a bar/pub atmosphere with bands playing. This is based on my observations from the one time Ive been there.
Great music. Friendly service. Cutest drinks. I had a wonderful time for my first time visiting.
Always a good time. We always go for the happy hour specials. Great entertainment, mixed and diverse crowd, lots of space.
A really fun time to either stop in or spent the night. Just a ton of fun!
$5 to enter a bar on Friday? Ordered 2 whiskeys on the rocks. Paid waaaaay too much. Entertainment was cool. Sing along interactive with the crowd type.
Cool venue live music, horrible music and singers which makes it comical. The crowd is the best dancing and signing alone. Good drinks.
Howl is always a fun experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. The musicians are always excellent and will rock you all night.
Loved coming here for happy hour! Free food, cheap drinks, great music and dancing
They are a good piano bar if you want sugary drinks. I am not a huge fan of this but like their happy hour deals. The staff is nice and patient. They also have different sizes of drinks for their specialty mixed drinks
Great drinks. The atmosphere is awesome and you have karaoke. Its a 10 dollars fee to enter, but the drinks are fine and cheap. Great option for a Philadelphia pub
Many amazing memories with friends, singing and dancing here
Got punched and drink thrown at me in 20 mins I was there for. On top of that, I got thrown out for defending myself. They charged me $120 for this amazing experience. So, one star because there is nothing below 1.
Live cover band bar? Good drinks but I just didnt feel very comfortable here. I got a lot of stares like I wasnt welcome. The bucket-of-alcohol drinks were fantastic but I wont be visiting this establishment again.
This bar is a lot of fun. Lively, energetic, and packed with party people. Definitely worth a visit if you have never been.
5 stars! Howl away the Moon is the place to go for an amazing unique experience. My friends and I went Here about a year ago for my friends bachelorette party and I decided I wanted To go back for mine. I won a free happy hour there for my bachelorette party back in September and I cannot thank them enough for giving me and my girls such a good time. They cater to parties whether is birthday bachelorette or any other celebration. The drinks and food are absolutely amazing and if you win a happy hour you get a free appetizer bar and who wouldnt want to fill up on free appetizers before drinking and dancing into the night. And dont be afraid to ask for any song for the pianist to play; they know such a variety and I loved hearing their takes on classic. Definitely recommend and will be going there for future friends parties!!
Really fun bar. The staff and bouncers were very courtious and we had a blast. They were sure to keep the floors clean whenever someone spilled a drink it was mopped up immediately.
Really great, fun bar to visit! I wish there were more drinks on the menu but the bartenders are pretty knowledgeable and the live music is fantastic! When I go out in philly I make a point to stop here
I loved the live band. I had so much fun
Great customer service to begin with!!!Had a wonderful time Congrats to the band!!! Talented, varied, and definitely, very entertaining. A must visit for a night out with friends.
Great bar. Great music. Great feel. When i went there was a 4 peice band playing covers and doing an amazing job. Me and 3 others split one of their 82oz drink buckets which was delicious. Our food was expedient and their fries we nice and crunchy. I would definitely come here again if i was in the area as it was a great time. Limited tables though so jump on the chance.
I come to howl at the moon all the time. Whoever made that recipe for the drink special last night need to go a basic drink class 101. The bartenders servers food everything was good. But that margarita bucket sucked
Good music made for a good atmosphere. Staff was friendly.
The Live band doing karaoke is amazing.
Great live bands, fast bar tender and friendly staff. I went on a Tuesday with low expectations. The band had great talent and bug entertainment factor. Highly recommended.
I go to this place every now and then. Enjoy the Piano bar.
The job had a Christmas party there. Had a great time. Dance club in the back. Too small to accommodate our staff, but had a great time.
Howl at the moon has its merits. It has a live band which can play a variety of songs across multiple genres with several different instruments. It has large mixed drink buckets to be shared with friends, which, although pricey, are tastey. At the end of the day however, this feels like a college bar. Its often hard to have a conversation because the live music is played all over the bar out of various speakers. Its usually too crowded to enjoy without getting bumped around, and the prices are too high without the happy hour deals they send to people so that they will bring large groups.
My friends and I had a great time at the happy hour party I hosted! The drinks were good, the staff was very friendly, service was quick and everyone loved the food in the buffet! Everyone had a lot of fun requesting songs! My friends especially enjoyed the mac and cheese bites! Overall it was a really good time! It was the perfect way to unwind a little after a long work week!
This bar is a pretty amazing staple in the downtown Philadelphia area. Although the bar is pretty big, it was full of people so its definitely a location where you can find yourself lost in the crowd near the bar or dancing. But, I recommend this place mainly on the fact that they accepted credit cards to pay for the cover charge. That is a not common practice everywhere and was a pleasant surprise.
Great time the house band is awesome!
Small dance area but always a good time.
Nice place had a good time
What I enjoyed was the band they had playing. What I didnt like was just the overall aesthetic. This is the club for you if you are in undergrad and in a sorority of fraternity. Not saying that in a negative way, its just that type of place.
Great little bar with some nice specials and good food, but the band...The band comprises of a number of musicians that play cover songs. While each of these musicians can surely play instruments (and some can even play multiple instruments well), their singing abilities vary. They take song requests, but because they only really know popular songs, you end up hearing the same songs over and over.If you go for one night its not so bad, but if you go fairly often, the band gets bland and tiring fairly quickly, and that takes away from what otherwise is a pretty good spot.
This is a great place for drinks and dancing, plus, they have a band that does all sorts of music genres. It can be quite crowded after 9pm. Prices are great for Center City.
Had an amazing happy hour! Great mix of ages. Great munchies. Fantastic 84 oz drinks. Most of the entertainers are very talented. My only complaint is that the one red headed piano player butchered every song to the point it was almost unrecognizable.
Live must is nice, but this is not a place to dance.
What a my favorite happy hour spots on the Friday. The piano bar is super cute and the entertainment is so fun. The bar is always packed but you never feel like youre waiting long for drinks and the buffet is an added bonus.
We were celebrating our nieces and nephews 21st birthdays, so we had a wide age range. Howl at the Moon was perfect. The band was great and fascinating to watch. It was loud and fun enough for those of us who wanted to dance, but not too loud for those who didnt. Will definitely go back!
Fun place. Dancing and good music.
