Great comedy spot in Center City. Amazing talent of comedians come through here. Cool vibes inside. There is a bar, and they have food service for basic apps like chicken fingers and wings. They have a great set up with Covid restrictions now, temp checking while you walk in and tables set 6 ft apart.

I always have a good time at the Helium Comedy Club. Especially when Keith is doing his stand up

First time here. Saw Tony Roberts IN PERSON!! Right here in Philadelphia. The staff at the Helium are very polite, professional and courteous. The bathroom was clean and our food order was delivered to our table hot. This was our first outing as a family to celebrate my daughters 45th Birthday. After recently having major surgery on her lungs and abdomen. Well laughing so hard at Tony Roberts she did leave holding her stomach..but the trip to the Helium left us all in good spirits. We hope to return again very soon!Thank you to all for making our night special!

They did a great job buy tickets early very limited seating. tickets sale in groups 2or4 ... temperature checks ar door.... ordering food drinks on your smart phone. Under the Circumstances Heliums staff did a very good job and the show was outstanding Tony Roberts killed it as usual

The staff is always working hard and being kind and helpful. I love the COVID safe establishment. Tables more than 6ft apart, the scan code for menu, food covered upon arrival, pay by phone, etc.

Nice place and great atmosphere. Social distancing was done perfectly. Food and drinks were reasonable and we had a fantastic time there

Glad to be back. In the world of covid the staff of Helium handled it very well. Everyone was spaced out enough and food came in containers to the table. I had a blast and it was great to once again enjoy a comedy show with a room full of laughter.

Great place to check out some great comedian. However the choice of music thats played while waiting for the show to start is utterly horrendous. Too much low graded demoralizing hip hop music with bad language. Please change the DJ.

Ive been to the Helium Comedy Club in Philadelphia many times - never had a chance to submit a review until now. I really enjoyed their food, drinks and comedy. I hope after the pandemic end, this place will thrive again. I highly recommend going to this comedy club.

Nice place to see great comedians. Drinks and food brought right to our table, the prices were reasonable. There is a parking garage right next to it which for Philadelphia is very convenient

...been going to helium since they opened, for a while they were phillys only real comedy club (nowadays they have some real competition from Punchline) ...its a cozy, intimate little room, all the seats feel like theyre close to the stage, which is great for comedy, and the food isnt terrible at all, and they still get a few big name headliners every now & then ...the staff has never made customer service their top priority (at times they can come off as rude or dismissive), and that cozy/intimate layout can make things a little claustrophobic when its crowded, theres always a chance you might find yourself at a small table with complete strangers, and the acoustics can make it hard to hear the performer if people are talking ...also, keep in mind; theres a 2 item minimum per person (drinks/food), but thats fairly standard in comedy clubs ...overall, helium makes for a decent comedy club experience.

Great personal atmosphere, delicious drinks! We saw Ivan Decker and he was incredible. Pretty sure I didnt breathe for a full minute I was laughing so hard. And the opening acts were great as well. Highly recommend!

Had a great time at Helium!Although we couldnt see very well because our seats were way off the to the side, the service and food was great! I came with my wife and we were both impressed by our server Julia. She was refreshingly friendly and discrete delivering drinks during the show. We are new to the city and will definitely be going back to Helium.

Overall a good venue to see performers. We paid extra for reserved seating and I think it was worth it. They do pack a lot of people into one area, but had no trouble seeing the stage. The prices for drinks and food were in line with other places in Philly - no bargain - but they werent ripping you off with the 2 item minimum. I would definitely come back to see other acts here.

Small intimate venue. 2 ITEM limit was nice, I was able to get food and a drink rather than two of the same. Theyre drinks were amazing!!! I took a picture so I could remember the ingredients for later

Had a great time. We were there for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian cancer research fundraiser featuring the cast of General Hospital. Staff was excellent and the food & beverage were great as well.

Loved the venue and ease of securing the tickets upon arrival. Didnt seem to have a bad seat in the entire place. Only draw back was the major kitchen delays. Shuler King drew in so many folks they couldnt keep up!

Clean and well spaced. Go out and laugh!

I walked in at 5:00 and was able to pick up the 26 tickets within minutes. Everyone was very pleasant and easy to work with. So much fun!

Love this place. Great acts come through. Cheap prices. Great date night or just a fun night out. They sometimes have mid week confidential acts and already run plenty of classes. Premier comedy club in the city!

Gift Card Scam Artist, I repeat Gift Card Scam Artist! What ever you do, do not buy gift cards from this company. I repeat do not do nit buy gift cards from thrm. Recently i purchased a gift card during Christmas season. Their website says for every 100 dollar purchase, they will give you 20 extra dollars. However, when I finally got my gift card several days late, past Christmas, there was only s 100 dollar gift card. No problem, mistakes are made. But when I, a blue collar working person who loves comedy, called to complain, I got told management was too busy. Yeah right! So they told me email my purchase number along with a screen shot of my purchase, which I took in case such a scenario should arise and got told to pound sand. Great company and customer service, not! To top it off, I had trouble using the gift card.

I love Helium. Food is ok. Drinks are good. Comedy is comedy. Win some lose some. I went this time for the Chris and Paul show. It was not my cup of tea but many members of the audience seemed to like it.

Excellent place to see a comedy show. First class operation from top to bottom. Long drive from Northern New Jersey, but worth the trip. See you again in April for Titus.

Ive seen many great preformers come through as well as witnessed up and coming comedians exercise what they learn from the classes they offer.Its a great spot to be entertained whether it be alone, on a date, or with a group.The staff is always very friendly.Thanks for all the laughs!

Went to see Bryan Callen on a Thursday night and it was packed! Great venue for comedy. The food and drinks were reasonably priced for being in Philly. Great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly, makes you feel like they want you there!

I enjoyed the fact, they actually toss people out who cant respect whats asked of them.I wish seating could have been a little different, as its a tight fit with so many people. But we did get pretty darn close to the stage, so that was really cool.

Love the mix of shows here. Well organized and welcoming. My only gripe is the setup of tables for general admission. If you like personal space, pay the extra money to get some elbow room.

Liked the venue, it was small enough to be close to the stage for the show but not so small as to feel packed in. There is a 2 item minimum, but everything was reasonably priced so that did not bother me. The drinks tasted great, but were not very strong. Over all great experience.

This place always brings great comedians in! Always a great time. However it reminds me of a large basement. The seating is very tight and cozy which makes the place heat up pretty quickly...make sure you smell fresh and get there early.

We love coming here, whether its as a date night or with a group. Always well ran, the food is actually pretty good. We most recently saw Michael Rapaport. The MC, opening act and Michael were all fantastic. Thanks Helium for a great evening out.

The absolutely only complaint is they require you to purchase 2 items but it took almost an hour to get our food. Besides that the website Is easy to navigate the crew was nice

Its a tight fit to get in and move around and its rustic but a great place to be up close to the artist and laugh! Mandatory 2 drink minimum person. But overall it really ok.

Saw Krystyna Hutchinson here and it was awesome. Got great seats even though I wasnt really early.

Been to tons of comedy shows in NYC and went to try this club for a special event. Very disappointed. They charge you 5$ for using credit cards to buy tickets as a service fee...online AND even in person...never seen that anywhere. Fine. Arrive there so long line and show is already delayed by 30 mins cause of line. So buy a drink from the bar and go back in line. By the time I reach entrance after maybe 1 sip of drink they let you know that there is a 2 purchase minimum. Keep in mind this was a full priced event and no where outside do they inform you of that. Usually drinks minimums are perfectly fine in free or heavily discounted not at full price and they inform you ahead of time. Get inside and the stage is terribly designed. So many seats are way off to the side that will barely see the stage. Pretty disappointing comedy venue.

Had a blast. Go on Tuesday night open mile night for only $5 to hear fresh new comics..and maybe a veteran will dtop by..one did when we went...food & drinks prices reasonable and good!

My first visit to the venue was several weeks ago to see a comedy show with friends. We were very excited, making sure to arrive very early as recommended for best seats, and were the second party to arrive before the doors even opened.Turns out theres no benefit to arriving early since everyone is made to wait in a separate lounge until the doors to the stage room are opened just before the act begins. When those doors to the stage room open it becomes a free-for-all to get into a new line where the staff usher you to whatever seats theyve chosen for you. So no benefit to early arrival x2!Still intent on enjoy the evening I was hopeful that the food items were as good as the website portrayed to swing the night into a positive. We ordered the largest sampler which sadly consisted of a few frozen microwave items like mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders and a large heap of fries. This was the point where we decided the venue was a miss.The venue is comfortable with decent viewing angles but it seriously needs to work on its organization and menu before Id get excited to visit again.

I’ve frequented this venue for decades, most recently having had the pleasure of seeing John Witherspoon on literally his last visit to Philly. As I’m again purchasing tickets I’m reminded of the absolute horrible service I received all to have the food, I guess a sampler plate be terrible as well. I had reserved seating, I was seated and ordered my food well before all the tables were filled. To my dismay I watched all the tables around me be served before food came late, cold & overcooked as the main act was on with no excuse. I have no problem paying the fees or the minimums to see who I want to see. But at the same time service HAS to be better for me to justify supporting your venue.

So much fun and they constantly have great promotions for free and discounted tickets!! I dont think Ive ever been disappointed in a show. Plus food and drinks are actually great.

Its an intimate venue that features mostly top comics as well as local and up-and-coming folks. Casual dress (jeans and sneaks), so the dress code is pretty relaxed. You do have to be at least 21 to enter (but 18+ are allowed provided theyre accompanied by someone at least 30 years old, and the 18 year old must wear a bracelet that denotes he/she cannot be served alcohol). Theres also a two-item minimum purchase thats required after entering the showroom, but the food is worth it and its reasonably priced. After the show, if you have a VIP tix, you get to meet and greet the comics and take pictures with them. This is my second time there, and I had fun both times, first time was with Bruce Bruce last year, just recently was with the Hodgetwins. Just be prepared to laugh out loud, but also be aware that the material is considered R-rated due to language and sexual content, so if youre not familiar with a comics work, research online.

I had a fantastic time. Tony Roberts was funny as hell. The service was good and the food was good.

Im not crazy about the tight seating at this venue, but the staff really goes above and beyond to do their job. Service is superb. Hope theyll add some vegan food to the menu for my next visit!

It was my first time visiting The helium comedy club in downtown Philly I took my wife on a surprise date to see Ryan Davis something that we have never done before and needless to say it was a great experience I didnt know what to expect because it was a first but we werent disappointed it was a fun experience surprisingly the food fair was good we were impressed in addition to having great seats up front near the stage and we had a lot of laughs which was the objective of this date something we hadnt done before were definitely looking forward to another visit at some point ...

Kevon Stage was Amazing..... it was a little too warm but over all a great experience.

Cheap tickets and pretty entertaining for the price. Went on a Tuesday so there were a variety of comedians resulting in a hit or miss reaction from the crowd. Would recommend for some laughs after work or school.

Ive been the club twice already and both times Ive had an excellent time. First time was for Ray William Johnson, Kaja and Francis. The last time was for Drew Lynch. The service was exceptional both times and the staff was amazing. I was seated at odd ends of the venue both times but I was still able to enjoy the show to the fullest. I cant wait to come back again.

My first time and it was amazing and extremely funny. The main event was Toby Roberts but everyone was really funny. My husband and I came for a date night and it was a great experience . The Ambiance is great, the drinks were great. The staff was friendly. Pay the extra money for reserve seating.

Read comments before coming about the place being too hot, just try to sit in a booth under a ceiling fan & it’ll be alright. Gary Gulman’s stand up was great!!

First time here on 03/01/2019 for a Mark Normand show and it wont be the last! Great experience! We had reserved seats and received comfy booth seating, dead center with a good view (though the place is small enough for all to see well enough I think). The openers were excellent and although we didnt order food, the menu looked good enough and prices for food were reasonable. Bathrooms were cleaner than expected and all staff were friendly while servers were discreet and did not disrupt the show at all. Im already excited to return.

Helium is the greatest place on earth. Especially for stand up comedy. There are no bad seats and the staff is polite and helpful. I love the food. Ive never had a bad time. Try It Out!

Bit of a mess getting in and out of the showroom but its a small place with a lot of seats. Always good shows here and Ive always had fun. Must order two items off the menu per ticket so I always get a Fiji water and fries to keep the cost lower. Id recommend against will call as they will give your tickets away if you dont get them at least 45 minutes before the show.

Not a bad seat in the house! Not that we minded, but just know that youre going to spend $20+ on required food and drink (per person). The nachos were huge, but skip the guac if you dont like it spicy.

Saw Mike Birbiglia there. Nice venue. They fill it up, but youre not crushed in and everyone can see. Two drink/food item minimum per person, but decent beer selection and food is not bad.
