Ive seen some incredible shows at this place, both improv and stand up. Its the best place to see comedy in Philly. There are well known acts who come and perform for a small room. You almost feel like youre in their living room watching them create on the fly. You do have to line up in whatever weather so come prepared. Love the location! Nice to get dinner or dessert close by.

This is a great place to see a comedy show. Right in Chinatown, there are a ton of great places to eat before the show. And, yes, you can bring your own booze (note) that means your own glasses, too. Id give it a 5 star rating but the venue is so small, they make you wait outside in line if you have tickets for the second show... and if the show goes long you have to edit outside... even in the rain. Also, only 1 unisex bathroom for the entire venue, and after the show with everyone drinking beers, well... get in line!

Maybe I came to an off night (Ur mom is funny), but it was not well ran or worth the money. I spent the whole show trying to figure out when the comedians were going to come on stage. The venue is small and cozy so I was really excited for some great talent to come on... unfortunately was not the case. Very disappointing.

Hidden gem comedy club. Its BYOB and some shows they give YOU the beer. It is sn intimate setting, some people were even seated on the stage floor. They do sell snacks in the lobby. Seating is first come, first served. If you have tickets, you check in inside then wait outside until seating starts. If you bring wine, make sure that you bring a cup. Dont forget a bottle opener!

A small hole in the wall place where you get amateurs and experienced comedians to do their skit. Good location as it is close to all major travel options.

Funny but if its cold outside dont make people wait outside. Also it would be nice if people could choose thier own seats. Particularly if you get their early enough.Overall, Id recommend it but do not expect the customer experience you get at other venues like comedy sportz

It was my first time going, and it was definitely different than what I expected; in a good way of course. The only thing I didnt care for was the fact that I had to pay cash, I wasnt aware of it being cash only, I try to stay away from places like that. Otherwise I had a good time.

Br
Review №13

A small theatre with a dedicated staff. The limited number of seats makes for a better show. You can hear performers really well. Instead of feeling claustrophobic, the physical closeness of those sitting around you enhances the enjoyment - laughs are louder, the atmosphere is more exciting. The only downside to the space is that there is only one bathroom in the whole place. Just one. The line to use it can get long at the end of shows, so it might be better to just leave and go when you get home or you next stop.

So happy to have this place in town. They have a great variety of comedy acts available pretty much every day. They are always reasonably priced (typically $5) as well. Its a fun, intimate setting where the audience feels like theyre part of the show. Note: I believe they are still BYOB, but bring cash for additional snacks or donations.

This was a first at this improv theatre. First of all shout out to anyone having the talent to just jump on stage and perform an improvisation. If you are looking for a professional stand up act then this place may not be for you but otherwise, if your cup of tea is people doing out of the box performance, then you most likely will enjoy it.

Really good open mic night with a great variety of comics and acts, and the average level of hilariousness was well above some of the other open mic nights Ive been to (thanks for setting the bar low, Spokane). Liked the BYOB aspect (bring your own cups or pay a small fee for paper ones there). Intimate theater so try not to take a friend that might turn out to be a comedy talker. Like I did. Anyway, would definitely go back next time Im in Philly.

Great intimate venue. We saw comedian Johnny Pemberton there and had a fantastic time. We were able to hear and see from where we were sitting and its BYOB. Staff working there was super helpful and welcoming. No dress code or 1 drink minimum required. We lined up outside about 15 minutes before doors opened and were able to go in, get our ticket verified and hand stamped then get back online outside then able to go right to our seats once doors did open. Seats are first come first serve. Great organized system. There are some snacks, beers, waters/soda for sale along with merch. This is our 2nd time going here and we will definitely make the drive down from NJ again. Thank you Good Good Comedy Theatre!

Saw Maria Bamford for one of her extra performances in Philly. The place is essentially a blackbox, but it gets but job done. They had a great selection of drinks and snacks to purchase before going in and it didnt take long for the show to start once they seated everyone. They are really efficient getting everyone into the theater and seated. My seat was on but far right against a wall, so I was thrilled that at no point in time would I have to move for anyone else. Lighting was great, sound too; didnt miss a word.I joined their newsletter subscription list, so Im on the lookout for the next show that fits my humour. Check em out. They do a bunch of stuff there according to their website. You might find something that interests you.

Review №71

Small intimate comedy setting with some really great shows. Many of the shows are audience interactive. Small enough venue that they are not afraid to experiment with humor. Lastly shows are priced mostly in the $5-10 range, so no major financial loss if the jokes fall flat for one show.

Review №72

OK! So I am writing this review not for the show( which I didnt get to watch) but about the place. I had gotten 3 tickets and was 30 mins late to the show. They sold our tickets to some other person and would not even give the refund or let us go in. When I politely asked them if I can watch the next show they said I have to purchase the tickets again. How stupid is that?? First the sold our tickets to someone else and then would not even care to put us in the next available show. Just imagine if you were flying in the plane run by these morons, they would not help their customer and take their money without putting them in the next flight... Again this comment is not on the show but the people who run the comedy place.
