Been fishing here since I was a youngster. The fishing isn’t as good as years back but if you get here at the right time you should do well with yellow and white perch and a few pickle mixed in, And remember to always clean up after yourself

Such a nice, quiet place for fishing. Catches a beautiful breeze as well as has sunshine and shade. The bathroom is clean too, a big plus:)

What a great spot to put in on the Magothy. The Magothy is such a beautiful river, with so much to explore. Parking lot is small, but I came on a pretty empty day

Good trails. Water front for fishing.

Not as kayak-friendly as I had hoped. Long portage, then a steep set of stairs leading down to the water. Otherwise its awesome.

There are two trails (at least) to the water from the parking lots (6-8 cars, parallel parking alongside the road). The boat launch trail is 30 steps past the last parking lot. Then its 185 more steps down a muddy and rocky trail (2 days after flood conditions). There is no stairway; if your are on a stairway with a canoe or kayak, then you did not start on the boat launch trail). The bathrooms are porta-potties, but seem to be well-maintained. The water is ok for kayaking and canoeing, but it too yucky to swim in.This is not like kayaking at Tybee Island in Savannah, GA, or on the American River in California. This is a Maryland estuary, and once you accept that, its ok; especially if its local. If youre willing to drive an extra 5 miles and pay $6, then Downs Park is *much* more posh, with beautifully maintained lawns, real bathrooms, a real beach, picnic tables, a nature center; the works.

Trails are well maintained but there was broken glass everywhere and we have a toddler who falls a lot and who is curious about everything so we probably wont be back for a while.

Howdy friends,If you find any logs with wax covered plugs in them, I have seeded a few logs with oyster mushrooms that were harvested wildly from beachwood park. Please leave the logs lay in place. However, if they have mushrooms on them, named oyster mushrooms, feel free to harvest and enjoy at home. If you are unfamiliar with mushrooms, never eat wild mushrooms without knowing what they are first.

I love this place! We go kayaking weekly during the warmer months. It’s always minimally crowded

Dumpy place. Glass and trash everywhere, not safe for kids to walk, fish hooks left all over the place.

Beachwood park is very unknown to many which makes it the perfect place to be! Recently the park has been updated with some signs and most of the paths have been mulched adding to its overall pleasantness. Anyone you meet here is kind, but I fear some are not keen on taking responsibility for the mess they make which leaves this place to be fairly littered with broken glass and fishing equipment. But in general it is a pleasant park.

Beautiful area, needs some TLC. Lots of broken glass on the trails. There were many fisherman trying to catch yellow perch--all were very friendly and shared tips.
