This is the cutest garden! I love that its not as manicured as others Ive visited. I photographed a wedding here last year and it was perfect. They had their ceremony under the peppercorn tree, they hired a HARPIST for the ceremony (so freaking cool) and then we explored the garden for their bridals. It was empty, quiet and we had plenty of different spaces and opportunities for the most beautiful images. It gave me the secret garden vibes, it really was so stunning. Ive attached a few images from that day!!
This is a super cute garden to go picnic or read in! Its very quite and peaceful here, and there are plenty of shaded spots with seating and tables to enjoy a snack or just relax in nature. There are many branching, winding paths with cute sculptures, impressive plants, or soothing fountains right around the corner. The thing that made this garden so special despite its small size is that there were endless things to see here. Various memorials are located throughout the garden and there are places with peoples art. There was even a tree where people tied little pieces of paper with their hopes, wishes, and ambitions for the future on them to the branches. We came on a Saturday and there werent too many people here. The paths and seating areas are separated from each other with various trees and other plants, so you couldnt really tell other people were in the garden unless they walked directly by you. Everyone was wearing masks and social distancing too. From what the signs said, it seems the garden is closed every Tuesday for maintenance to keep employees safe from COVID. Other than that, the garden is open during the day and free to visit.
I have lived in Pasadena for so long but have never known about this garden. Found it on the internet and decided to check it out. Its a very popular place for professionals to take family and wedding pictures. I had the chance to meet with a volunteer here and she was nice and friendly. People come here to have a picnic, play games and enjoy themselves. The labyrinth was the most popular place for photos. I found the wishing tree but have no paper to make a wish. Make sure you bring your own if you want to do that.
Super cute little gem!! I came by more than once over a few days because it was so lovely. Especially during the pandemic, this is a nice way to get some fresh air and exercise. Please continue to wear masks and protect others! Also, on my second trip there, I unfortunately found some trash left behind by a family who was there to take photos with their baby... Please pick up after yourselves to protect this community resource in consideration of others.
Depending on the when you go the level of interest will change. During the blooming season April and May there are tons of flowers around the Garden, but that also means ton of people. Personally, i think the Gardens is more beautiful during Fall, less people and the sheer amount of yellow and orange off the trees is spectacular. I went with some friends to take some pictures and just had fun seeing things
Its a beautiful park. Its clean, peaceful, and it smells amazing. Its a great place for a date, family outing and even to study or do work. One downside is that many people come here to do photoshoots and its a bit inconvenient. I counted 5 photoshoots in total. I felt bad walking through certain areas where pictures were being taken but, its unavoidable the photographers are everywhere!
Super awesome garden, but tons of people not practicing covid safe behavior
I love this place! Its beautiful, peaceful and a great place for a walk in nature. There are many benches hidden away in the woods to sit and relax. I also love the small art gallery located within that always has an interesting exhibition.
This is such beautiful place to spend with family and/or friends and make lovely memories. I will never forget bringing my most Special Aunt Ann, and was delighted as she could name every flower, tree, etc. during our walk. We stopped for tea and rest a bit and then continued our little journey. Im sure there are many who can recall having had just as wonderful a visit as we did. The staff are willing and able to be of assistance, whatever the situation.
Lots of seating and places to read. Cool statues and bird houses throughout. The wishing tree and mini rock maze was also pretty neat.
Just went to Free 3rd Tuesday and took my boys on the enchanted train ride. We had the most beautiful time My son took pictures of tons of flowers and we were able to rest in the creation of God throughout our nature walk.
So so glad that I finally dragged my fiance here - we had a blast! It was much like being back in golden gate park as a kid sliding down the ones there, but much more hidden so it makes you feel like youve come into a secret.
I am afraid to bring too much attention to this little gem. My best friend and I loved the peaceful atmosphere here.
I visited this place at night during their Enchanted: Forest of Light event. It was very nice and I would definitely go back. It took us about an hour to walk around the whole place. We grabbed some hot chocolate at the cafe before entering and it was delicious. My only complaint would be the price. I got tickets off of Goldstar for $20, but I dont think theres enough to do/see for that price. At least there was free parking though.
Cool free garden to checkout if you are in Pasadena. Not very large but there are benches and a few tables to sit.
What a sweet spot. This community garden has lots of succulents and plants to show and was a great spot for our short visit. We enjoyed that the space was free and being enjoyed by a few other groups. It was not the biggest, but lots of little trails to find the native plants. Loved that it is community and volunteer run with compost and mindful caretaking. Well taken care of and good signage.
One of my favorite places in the Crescenta Valley. If the weather is consistent, the azaleas and camellias in the first months of the year are special. And the roses in the spring/earlysummer. Also great for birdwatching and to learn about native vegetation. Check the website before you visit.
This is beautiful well kept garden! Essentially youll pull up in a neighborhood, and can walk right into the area. There are many flowers, and plants, along with shaded places to sit. You can stroll around, or relax under an umbrella. I personally went for a quiet place to read a book, but there are many tables so you could have a little picnic, study session, or catch up with an old friend. Overall, I really recommend this garden.
Extremely nice place to visit if you are in the area. Very clean and it feels like you are in the nature. It is great for a hangout, a walk, to chille and enjoy the scenery. Great for photoshootsBut I suggest to be aware of the bees. Dont get too close
Such a wonderful spot! So much charm, places to chill, excellent plants and trees, and a great vibe. I chipped in a donation after my visit to do my part to help the people behind the scenes.
Nice peaceful garden. Cute squirrels and good plants.
Ive been here a few times while on vacation and its a pretty nice park with views of the painted ladies. I see a lot of people letting their dogs run and play together but Im not sure that its necessarily a dog park.
Came here for the cherry blossom festival and fell in love!! It was a sunny day that got pretty hot quickly so dress accordingly. They had different sections of the garden that had different activities going on. Came around noon when all the activities and concerts were going on. There are different spots for food at the festival so walk around and then make your decision what to eat. The origami workshop was pretty packed so Id suggest to get there early. No complaints about the cherry blossoms though since they were beautiful :)
Pretty, quiet little garden, free to enter, has some neat artsy things, plenty of benches and tables and shady spots, a really lovely little olive grove. There was a sign about marmalade for sale but no one around to sell it so Ill probably be back for that.
Amazing nature park! Great for mini photo sessions!
Such a beautiful gem! Love going to the garden, the plant life is breath taking in the spring. Beautiful small garden and you can tell its well tended too. I enjoy the labyrinth.
Really nice place. It was so pretty, went there on a date with my boyfriend. The weather got a little hot after a while but worth the trip! The only thing that sucked was the fact that the food was so expensive !! $35 for a sandwich and a burger
Great spot for a photo shoot or and afternoon lunch during the pandemic!
Small but cute. Needs gardening attention. Its mostly dry
I love to shoot here. Such a beautiful place to do wedding photos or just come and have a picnic. Everyone seems so friendly too!
Fun little place to have a quick bite to eat.
We couldnt believe this is open to the public. Its really beautiful. Its really nice to just sit down and have a nice talk or have a quick bite and enjoy the outdoors.
Very nice place if you are looking for peace and quiet. They have cute benches where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful greenery and the fresh shade of the trees.
You enjoy a nice walk around the garden. I just think its need a bit of gardening work. I saw plants Ive not seen before. You can enjoy a nice picnic.
Somewhat of a hidden garden on the edges of Pasadena. Nice place to relax, catch some sun rays, and have a meal with your loved ones. The garden is well maintained and has an array of mediterranean and desert plants. There are numerous benches and tables to kick back on every corner of the garden. The garden sits on what used to be home to arguably the largest home is Pasadena, and possibly, in southern California.Definitely worth a visit.
Great little park to lounge or take family pictures.
Located in Pasadena, Arlington Garden is peaceful, open and relaxing. The garden wasnt as big as I expected but still very nice and well-tended. I liked the idea behind the Labyrinth!
Beautiful garden -- tons of people go here to relax or have picnics. Its really serene.
Needs some one to water the nice Arlington park garden.
Definitely, a place you have to visit when you stay in Los Angeles.
Its peaceful, with benches to sit on, and paths to meander on. I bring my dogs, and this space is nice for a quiet walk, a little oasis right off a busy street. Its not perfectly maintained, a little “natural”, but I find that to be part of its charm, just wish it were bigger.
️ First and foremost: respect this place like its your grandmas back yard. Ok good now that thats out of the way—terriric place to escape the bustling life without having to go to the mountains. Plenty of nooks to tuck away in and sit with an abundance of seating and benches.
Beautiful! Great place to enjoy a coffee, read, write, meditate and to stroll through such an amazing garden!
It’s ok I guess. Not much if you’re trying to do engagement or wedding photos.
Theres nothing like a walk in the Park, whether youre a local or a visitor. Check out Lindy in the Park Sundays 11-2 (or so), with a free beginners lesson at 2, in back of the De Young.
It is looking dried up. It appears it that it needs better care
A lovely garden maze to get lost in and enjoy a nature stroll. A nice place to bring some food and enjoy with a friend.
Amazing place. Didnt know it existed but thanks to Google maps I found something to do while in Pasadena. Unbelievable place for a nice walk in nature. So many great places to sit and relax and read a book. Many different varieties of plants and flowers. Some nice statues as well. The smell here is relaxing and you dont feel like leaving. Theres also a Japanese garden across the street from this location. Free parking on Street if you wish to come to the garden.
Beautiful public garden - enjoy the birds, relax, read a book or just take a stroll. Best to get there early - avoid the heat in summer. Note- they do rent space for weddings so you may not have access to all areas.
A great space in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city to stop and reconnect with nature.
My favorite garden aside from the Huntington Library gardens. Arlington gardens are very peaceful and gorgeous. Volunteers work to keep it that way on Tuesday mornings. You can just show up and they will put you to work and appreciate it too.
This is a beautiful garden showcasing California and Mediterranean drought resistant plants. You can go for as long as you like, there are many paths! Street parking is easy, and even in the winter theres lots to see!
Fun to see with family but highly recommend the spring time.
Best secret hideaway for reading, watercolor, painting, picnics, and dog walks. Beautiful Flora and lovely layout. So many different scenes and structures, I never get bored. Great place to soak up nature!
A very quiet place.
Great place to hide away from the hustle and bustle of the cityVery well kept little garden with plenty on shade and benches.
Really nice small garden. Benches to relax or read a book kinda thing.
Beautiful little garden tucked away, perfect spot to have a quiet picnic lunch or meet with friends.
It is a beautiful, serene garden to relax, contemplate your time.
Beautiful gardens, open to the public. wonderfully small and winding paths, with a great variety of plants, many of which I have never seen in other local gardens. highly recommend !
Super cute park. Lots of weddings held there over the weekends. Cant say they have a ton of amazing colors and flora/fauna that draw your attention, but theres some cute little spots around the garden awesome for chilling and you see artists usually doing their rendition of what they see.
Small green garden nestled within Pasadena with several different pathways, sculptures, benches and diverse flora and succulents. Could spend about 30-40 minutes here.
Only for adults you cannot take stroller with baby as it is narrow dirt trails. If you like plants then you will enjoy it.Its a small garden with beautiful old fashioned benches and decorations.
Great place to get some work done or relax !!
Its a decent size Mediterranean garden with enough places to sit and enjoy your morning time.
I Love spending some quality time with my Love!!
If you’re going to sit there at dusk, prepare to get bit by mosquitoes. Quaint garden maintained by the local community.
Nice and quiet place on a Saturday morning. Beautiful succulents and gardens
Peaceful and tranquil
Beautiful gardens, marmalade jelly, weeping tree. I tied my wish on the wishing tree.
Beautiful place
Zen experience. How blessed we are to have this gift in Pasadena.
A nice quiet place to have a picnic.
This beautiful set of gardens also include a library and art museum. Walking through stunning gardens showcase Africa, China, Japan, Australia, Roses, Bamboo forest and more. It is an environmental masterpiece. Travelers who visit the Los Angeles area should take a day to take in this fabulous site. Having high tea is also a treat to complete the experience.
This garden is a little hidden gem in Pasadena. It’s free and open to the public. I like taking my dog here or hanging out with friends. I often see people reading or doing work. There are tables if you want to bring some food or a notebook. There’s a little zen walk in the garden that’s kind of fun. There’s no water fountains or bathrooms. They have little sections for different kinds of plants and information about different habitats.
The garden was so beautiful. There was plenty of space to sit and relax or enjoy a outdoors on a lunch break
Very nicely kept small jewel of a park kept secret in the heart of Pasadena. Not the biggest of public gardens, but still a nice place for a picnic or a Sumer walk. Best of all there is no charge to get in!
Small park, not very well maintained. Looks bigger online than in person. Good seating scattered throughout.
Small and peaceful place in the world.
Nice walk shady
Such a beautiful place to just chill, meditate, drink in Natures Beauty, and rejuvenate. Theres a little bit of noise from St John if youre down on that end of the garden. But especially now when theres so much and Bloom you quickly forget about it. It is my own personal Secret Garden.
Nice peaceful garden. Great place to get lost in the city. Numerous paths to walk and see a large variety of plants.
Amazing gem sitting in the heart of south Pasadena. The garden here is always changing with the seasons and never disappoints! There are plenty of benches and tables to bring your lunch, coffee, and a book to decompress from the day to day grind.
A beautiful, tranquil place to take a break from a busy day in Pasadena. Lots of people visit to make art. Highly recommended!!
Kinda dry and dirt. Not well maintained but maybe thats the way it is supposed to be? Good places to sit and some shade. Portable out house available and well stocked and clean as clean as those can be.
Its a nice garden, whats more? Well its no Huntington library but it does have its charm. Not a huge garden but it has the selection. Limited shaded sitting areas though.
You can do any visitival
Pretty park. Calming, a good place to sit and read a book, or hang out.
Wonderfully kept and very peaceful.
The gardens are well kept and there are many varied restful places to sit. The design is well laid out with paths that meander through native and imported plants. It is a very calming place to bisit.
A wonderful place that has deteriorated significantly over the past 3-4 years. What a shame. Five to seven years ago (in the drought), it was an oasis of calm, wonder, and beauty (if somewhat idiosyncratic). Now it is dusty, dry, dull, with no indication of any upkeep, planning, or care. A real loss for Pasadena and the area! Hope they find their way back.
Nice to walk around and get ideas.
Magical, serene hidden gem event venue, romantic escape, meditative retreat, must see!
Discovered this peaceful dusty garden while passing time in the area. Nice for sitting and reflecting.
Very pretty gardens, we spend our lunch hour there. There are sitting areas and small tables, just perfect for some quiet time..
A quiet place wrapped in serenity. Probably best in the early morning.
