Great place to take your kids and family. Fun to walk around looking at tide pools and climbing rocks. Also an awesome place to see AMAZING sunsets.
We visited the John Denver memorial because I was a huge fan as a child. The beach was absolutely breathtaking. Its an experience i wont soon forget.
Its a beautiful site. Its so relaxing just to sit down and watch the waves roll in be it during the day or while watching the setting sun or even on a moonlight night. Absolutely awesome.
The weather was great, sun was shining although there a crisp breeze which made it slightly cool at times. This is an amazing venue to go walking around the perimeter, hike up on the rocks if you feel a little adventurous (watch out though they are a little slippery when wet), sit and read a book or just admire the scenery. It is calm and serene and a perfect relaxation spot.
Incrediable weather. One of the most beautiful views in Pacific Grove. After listing appointment had to stop and take pictures.
Awesome tidal pools! Beautiful view, sad story to contemplate, good music to play.
This is a quiet beach area when the tide is up, that is not heavily crowded. When the tide is the low, the tide pools are fantastic with lots of starfish to see. Great for kids and picnics.
Great place to relax while you watch the waves and see some sunset
Could be much nicer.....flowers or grass could surround this Memorial marker instead of parked car in front of it!!!!
Lovely beach to go to and look at tide pools during low tide. Not very crowded but get there early to get good parking. Look at the tide tables and plan to be there during low tide. Lots of rocks to climb about with kids. It can get windy out there so would advise to bring a light jacket even during a summer day!
A gorgeous place any time of day, but especially at bird rush hour
Clear blue skies today with white tipped waves crashing on the rocks. Watching a crane standing on a bed of sea weed looking to see what to have for dinner.
This is a very quiet beach on the Monterey Bay where you can observe sea lions, otters and pelicans. John Denver Beach also has picnic tables and benches for you enjoyment as well and kept very clean.
Beautiful and lost on most people nearby. John Denver was a National Treasure. Period. Exclamation point!
Beautiful day at the ocean. Not very crowded as it was a breezy and cool.
Cool little hermit all over the place. Neat sea life awesome for exploring.
Great place, but you should be very careful to find the memorial stone
Didnt know that was where I was beautiful scenery
A fitting tribute for a wonderful singer / songwriter.
The marker was easy to find love the area and the views are amazing
Scenic and very calm
Lots of beautiful areas to stop in this area.
A bit disappointing but nice that they have something to commemorate John Denvers untimely passing. If youre ever in Aspen, CO be sure to see the John Denver Sanctuary. Very cool!
Great spot to overlook the ocean if you just want a breather
Great spot to sit and enjoy the ocean.
Beautiful times spent here staring at the water
Fun to watch the Waves Crashing....
John Denver used to BuZz Johnny Carsons golf party or group of people????had no knowledge of which golf course??? Evidently Spanish bay or cove....privite resort very nice...gym staff very compassionate understandings exallent 5 star service even if you just drop by to eat..or take an walk..and not member..SEAL OR BUDS TEAM SIGHTINGS EVERY BLUE MOON.. Every one loved his music even me...alot of people dont respect difficulty in playing..
Beautiful spot to ditch a plane. Simple plaque in memory of a great song writer.
Perfect place to check out tide pools at low tide. Make sure you check the tide charts and get the lowest tide of the day. On our first visit we had a higher low tide, and while we saw a lot of anemones and crabs, we didnt see any sea stars/starfish. When my husband and some went back at LOW low tide, they saw an abundance of life that we didnt see the day before.
Great view! Tide pools are fun.
Great beach to sit in your car and watch the water. It gets really windy there. Can walk into the water and tide pools
Great place to visit with family and friends. Also with a girlfriend or boyfriend too! A place where u can see with a great nice view that you dont see very often honestly....plus it got nice waves and the weather wow its impressive.... I can recom it for people to go visit and to new people that are around also for tourist too.... check it out and if I wasnt right let me know to delete my comment about it.... enjoy it...!!
One of my favorite places to chase waves and sunsets!
We got lucky and came during low tide. Lots of shell, crabs and plants to see. We were finally able to climb out the the island.
Its a very sad tribute to a great entertainer. Knowing the story of his tragic plane crash & the circumstances with the plane. I commend the powers to be for its memorial at such a beautiful location.
Not really sure what the John Denver connection is but a very pretty place
Great place. I take my grandma and grandpa there two days a week to get them out and they love it.
We have loved this entire drive from Monterey Aquarium to Asilomar State Beach, for years, and stop at each pullout along this route here, every couple of years when we get to Monterey/Pacifica.I knew he died October 12, 1997, but have never seen the memorial, or known about it, until my map locator notified me, AFTER we got back home. Thanks Google! LOL
Great spot for picture taking and seeing the beauty of Monterey Bay.
This is a nice place to sit and watch the ocean, watch the Sun go down, and feed the local animals. There are ground squirrels, seagulls and other types of birds.
First time visiting the memorial.Very touching. My respects.
It is just beautiful here. we were at 8am and couldnt be more happier
Beautiful and tranquil!! ️ ️ Tons of squirrels and they are used to bing fed by humans so don’t freak out when they start ganging up on you!!! They are not shy
Great place to park and watch the surf. Campers welcome from sunup to sundown. Awesome views.
Its a magical point along the 17 Mile drive. Its easy to miss the memorial because youre focused on the ocean views. If its important to you, look for the stone on the edge of the parking lot towards the ocean
This memorial to singer-song writer John Denver is placed within a few hundred yards of the site of his tragic plane crash. There are two picnic tables nearby.
Funny have lived here 4 years and until this popped up I didnt realize that John Denver died here. The whole of the driver from Lovers Point to Asilomar is beautiful and great to pull over, wind down the window and enjoy the waves and the views. Not exactly sure where the memorial is but a beautiful piece of the world to enjoy!
Really scenic view!
It was such an amazing place to be and think peaceful thoughts of a man who can transport your mind to solitude and peace with just his voice and words. Greatly missed forever.
Even though this memorial reminds about quite sad moment, the place itself is nice to visit and walk around.
If you like John Denver and come to Monterey area you should stop by this place. It is easy to miss as the plaque is at a stone on the ground at the beach parking lot, so cars may be parked in front of it.
My favorite place to park my woodie during the day to work and relax. Beautiful view of the beach, quiet, relaxed.
I missed the John Denver Memorial, but this area was fantastic. The view of the waves crashing against the rocks is very relaxing. Great place away from the hoards to enjoy the ocean.
With the ocean on three sides, the experience is both calm, yet powerful at the same time.
Lovely Beach easy to walk great remembrance
So beautiful and relaxing with great views.
Great waves..that memorial part, I actually forgot about( sorry!) Thank you google, for reminding me!!
Spectacular scenery but I couldnt find the plaque.
I got married under these Cypress trees 9 years ago go back here every year love the weather and the walk.
A lovely tribute to an amazing man. Blink and you will miss it. Definitely worth the stop though!
The weather and waves were wonderful!!!!
Very nice spot to stop and visit.
The memorial was difficult to find. Worth looking for if youre on the beach already. Secondly, informal memorial was nice, also.
Very good experience. Felt the peace and cool breeze with seagull flying back and forth posing for pictures taken by tourists. Experiencing the peace. I envy those who live either or near the area only for the nice weather and the ocean view.
Nice place to visit and relax.
Its quiet, plenty of shade and benches to sit and relax.
A beautiful and somber area.John Denver was a wonderful singer and I still have some of his records.
Easy access to see it, right in a parking lot. Just a little small and gets dirty and covered by parked cars. Wish it were bigger or in a better spot.
Nice lol beach for kids to play
I cried for 3 days when John died. Couldnt get out of bed for two. I have never experienced a loss in my life like this before. My heart still aches when I hear his music. I have yet to play any of my collection of his music since he died. It hurts. It makes me feel in places of my heart that nothing else reaches. Being here where he died brought me some closure It was painful but good. So very grateful to his family who placed this memorial!! Thank you.
A nice side of the road attraction. There is a small plaque for John Denver and some nice shoreline rock formations to enjoy.
Simply Beautiful
Awesome place. Beautiful beach and a wonder sunset view.
Gorgeous views. Must stop to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
My favorite beach because its easier for me to get to waters edge with firmer beach to walk on with a cane and no big dune to conquer. Beautiful too. And John Denver.
Stop here and see the spot. Then feed the squirrels
Lovely views. Bit of a squirrel infestation problem tho.
Nice scenic place. Brought a tear to my eye.
It used to be just the driftwood that fans used as a marker to find the spot, so I was very pleased that the plaque was placed. Thank you to those responsible.
There really isnt much to see here but its situated along a beautiful drive and worth visiting for the journey itself.
Wonderful spot to have lunch and relax
Nice rocky beach/tide pool area. Large rocks off coast which will have breaking waves.
Relaxing, peaceful place to enjoy the ocean. Serenity of nature. I enjoy coming here and will continue to visit as long as Im able.
Took my wife to go see it. We loved the view of the ocean.
I did not know it was there till we get there
Beautiful coastline. Parking is easy. Very chill.
So Relaxing...
Finally, I got to Johns Memorial in Pacific Grove. Miss him everyday, thank God we have his music forever.
Small dedicated group met to remember John Denver at the beach.
Perfect for the view and our Clambake!
If youre traveling and you go by this area its a good place to stop and see
