Fun little neighborhood park! From The nature trails, the boat launch with the long dock along the river, to the recently updated fenced in play ground area are just a few of the many things that make this park great! You can always find something to entertain any age group here. It’s the perfect park to live right around the corner from. I’ve always felt safe here if I was just taking my dog for a walk or when I played here as kids.

Put our canoe in at Sanchez park and paddled to tomoka outpost in the state park. Nice easy trip with no trees down to block the way. About 2 hours. We dropped the canoe at Sanchez park and drove to the takeout point where we left the car and bicycled back to the canoe. 4.5 miles. Nice day outdoors. Wind was from the south so it was behind us most of the trip.

My grandson and I walk up there regularly and love it. Its just a small, neighborhood park with the added attraction of a boat ramp. Theres a nice little playground for the kids, and lots of puddles to splash through on the perimeter road after it rains!

This is our favorite place to put in our kayaks. You can either go up Strickland Creek or go a little farther west and go up Thompsons Creek which is much quieter. Lots of History here as well. A path through the woods will take you 2 where a bridge crossed leading from the old Causeway to the plantations that abounded in the area in the 1800s.

Very quiet & nice park & the Bathrooms r clean. Not enough parking at all. The boat parking is ridiculous. Literally only 4 vehicles can park... they need more spots to park

We used the boat launch area to put our kayaks in. It was a nice launch but there was limited parking near the launch. We dropped or stuff off and then parked in another lot. We didnt visit the rest of the park, so cant comment on that.

4 Stars for Kayaking. Very nice unspoiled natural Florida. There are 2 rivers that go north it took me about an hour to go half way up the larger east side branch. I will check out the skinnier middle branch another time.

What a gorgeous natural area right up against the Halifax River! The area we spent a short visit at had a rest area with a newer playground sitting in front of it. There was a boat ramp where locals were setting off for a bit of kayaking. There is a wooden walkway right on the bank of the river with stunning views of a place that has not been commercialized.

I grew up beside this park. It has a sand ramp boat launch with docks on both sides that accommodates shallow draft vessels no problem. The north side boat dock continues north along the Strickland creek for about a hundred plus yards providing benches, fishing/ crabbing and nature views. About three miles north of the park the Strickland creek flows into the Tomoka River. Great kayaking spot . The park offers bathrooms, playground, water fountain, pavilion and the beautiful water front. Kayaking tip- the land across from the park is an island. Go south from the boat ramp to get on the back side of the island to head back north. Stay left and take all the little channels from there to take a fun start to your trip.

Peaceful park no way !!!! Saturday afternoon around 3 pm no where to park place is packed !! Boats trucks and the boat trailers everywhere!!!l drove through and right back out!!! Dogs everywhere screaming kids and water was so churned up by boat traffic it was almost black !!! Unbelievable that I read reviews about how peaceful it was and it looked like Wal-Mart parking lot with a playground a dog walk and a BOAT LOT !!!! WOULDNT RECOMMEND GOING THERE UNLESS DURING THE WEEK MAYBE ! HAVENT TRIED THAT YET SINCE I WORK MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND SOME WEEKENDS !!!! TAKE ALL THOSE REVIEWS DOWN AND BE HONEST !!!!!!
