This is a great campground, with 90+ nice camping spots that are heavily wooded with lush palm trees that give each spot really nice privacy. Some spots can accommodate RVs with power and water hookups. Others are for tents. Theres also a group camping area for youth groups or Boy Scouts. There are multiple shower/ restroom/ laundry facility buildings, and several handicap accessible camping spots nearby with paved access from the camping spot to the building. There are 2 buildings that can be rented for events and a group picnic pavilion with a group fire pit with grilling grates. The park is great. It has lots of water surrounding it, so people bring kayaks, canoes, and fishing gear.
Review of the boat launch outpost - the business itself was fine but opened late with no notice (we called the park and they didnt tell us that morning). The rented goods were good. The river and creek were... Boring? Not much wildlife or sights.... But that isnt the business fault. If the half mile trail exists, there is no signage and I still dont know where to look.
Great camping fun for the family! Beautiful park lots to do, see a couple of manatees, great fishing, really cool canoe trail and full of history and wildlife. Awesome place to stay while enjoying the beautiful beaches of Palm Coast!
Clean state park. Lovely camp store by beautiful river, pleasant employees, camp host even helped us back in our rig. We had lovely paved site handicapped accessible. Most are gravel but still nice with grill and fire pit. Clean bath houses, rest rooms and laundry area nice and clean. The loop getting into campsite is a little tight but doable. Look forward to camping here again.
First timers at Tomoka Campground and found the campsites large enough to accommodate a camper and screen tent. What impressed us most was the privacy of the sites and Florida nature that surrounded us with palms, long leaf pines, and live oaks draped with moss.Bathrooms were always clean and noticed laundry facilities if needed. Coming from the north it was hard to deal with the sand roads and sandy campsite, but that is part of nature too. Do wish we had more trails nearer the campsites but the one way campground road made a excellant walking trail to substitute and even better bike trail.Plus many other activities from renting kayaks, canoes or taking a river nature tour with a guide. Want a taste of Florida, visit Tomoka State Park you wont be disappointed.
Cute and cozy. Very scenic. Deer, water views, and the campground site has a lot of privacy. Super friendly staff at the gift shop. Drank a Tomoka EPA beer here, and watched the water view from inside the store/lodge. The weather was cold and overcast but having a place like this in the campgrounds made for a nice laid back afternoon.
Great place for kayaking, big tarpon, nice reds, black drum, drums nook, plenty more
Lots of privacy between campsites. Great canoeing and kayak rentals. And close to Daytona Beach.
Site 40 with a 25 and truck. Turkey Run weekend.
Very beautiful natures.. lots of places to camp and there are lots of activities that can be done there.
Roadways are not paved, be ready for dirt or mud if rainy. Campsites are fairly private but tight. Very heavy tick infestation all over the park. Bathrooms always dirty due to dirt roads. Dumpsters got filled with locals old furniture on our day one? How did this get into the park? The Tomoka Outpost is the best part of this experience, well run, great spot to chill by the water with a local brew. Pave the roads or at least gravel and maintain for a higher rating.
Site 8 ant infestation. Ask the Ranger when you check in if they took care of it.Had a great time at the site 24 had moved to site 8 for one night. Woke up the next morning had ants in my bathroom I think they came up the water hose. Went outside before sun up the ground was covered with them under and around my camper . Did a quick knock down with yard guard. Went to Lowe’s in the morning to get spray talk to Ranger on the way in after spending $15 asking when you check in if they’ve taken care of it
Amazing campground with nice sites that feel secluded. Excellent area to kayak as well.
A hidden gem of Florida. Nice place to camp and kayaking Friendly staff.
First time camping in the park was a very nice experience felt like a very relaxing place to get away for the weekend great place to enjoy Floridas wild life the campsite look beautiful with all the different trees shading the whole area Im definitely coming back in the near future
Nice and relaxing, great for getting away for the afternoon. Pets are welcome and lots of fishing spots.
We wanted to be in this park so much we had to book 2 days and then move our camper to another site to get another 3 days. Even though its a pretty park and very tropical looking it wasnt our favorite. The sites we had were difficult to get in to even though once we did they were nice enough but not very level without boards and some work. Our first site was 14 and across from the first bathhouse which was very clean and comfortable to use. When we had to move we were in 51 and the bath house near there was disgusting. For some reason they kept leaving the doors open and they were filled with mosquitoes and just dirty. We did NOT use it. Has one dump station that easy to access. There wasnt a lot to do in the park besides walking the roads which we did. We left the park to go to the beaches which werent that far. Staff was nice enough. They need more trash cans. Pets are allowed on trails but not on the Ormand or Daytona beach. Flagler and Crescent beaches allow pets on a leash. We would stay here again if we wanted to be near the beaches and nothing else was available.
3 years in a row visiting Tomoka. We love it! Private beautiful sites. Close to the water and beaches.
Beautiful Beautiful
Campsites can be very tight for big rigs. Tamoka store is awesome. Quite a bit to do with the surrounding area .......great beaches.
Beautiful state park! We will be back every year for Biketoberfest & Bikeweek! Clean & inexpensive
Beautiful, private & quiet RV camp sites, interesting to explore area
Great staff. Super clean restrooms. Campsite is awesome too.
It is a small and family oriented park
Great campground. Restroom/showers very clean.
Definitely not for Motorhome 13 or higher. Low branches, dirt roads. Our site adequate for our 34 with vehicle parked in front. Privacy between sites and great showers. Needs excessive tree trimming on access roads.
Im giving this park 3 stars only because of Scott at the camp store he was very helpful and lots of fun to talk to. The camp however left a lot to be desired first off the roads were horrible very deep pot holes! The first site they gave us had no power so we had to move. All of the sites are sand so everything stays dirty all the time! This probably will be the last time I stop at this state park.
Clean campground with hookups at 90+ sites. Reasonable State Park pricing. Inside a nice clean waterfront State Park.
A unique place. Camp sites are not super big, but big enough to get your stuff into. Most of them are pretty private with hedge rows between. The sites and roads are sand. Bath houses are clean. And we were happy to see laundry since we didnt see it listed as an amenity. There are several places that you can drive in the park and put a kayak in and there is a formal boat ramp as well. Lots of access to water. A camp store that sells some stuff, but not your typical camp store. Limited supplies, pre packaged snacks, wood, candles, ice cream, beer, boiled peanuts, etc. Some hiking trails, a bike trail, volleyball net, multiple picnic areas, an historical site. Overall a really neat place. Didnt give it a 5 only because of the super sandy and smaller campsites. I have to sweep the camper and mats everyday.
Beautiful, quiet and natural. We only stayed one night but was really nice and quiet.
Had to purchase shirt after a person close by had a nasty cough and NO Mask
Close to Daytona beach and nice clean campgrounds and hot showers. Friendly staff
We love camping and boating here! Beautiful park. You cant get bored here, so much to do and see!! See Ryan at the Outpost! Very helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable!!
I love this place for a few reasons. Camping there is wonderful and all the wild life is incredible. You can shower and feel clean after instead of some of the places I have camped at. The history of this park is incredible also. We are going back on new years Eve and camp with my 86 year old mother in law.
Large lot and great bonfire pit! We had a big group of people around the fire. It felt like an adventurous jungle since we are from Michigan and we arent used to all the palm trees while camping. We loved it!
Love tomoka
Nice place, lots of trees we went in early November and there were no bugs at all.
Beautiful place to camp, all hookups.
Well kept park. Nice bath houses with laundry facilities. Excellent water access for boating and kayaking. The sites are all sand with nice natural barriers between them although they are a little tight in most cases for RVs. Unique campground.
The campsites are great. The staff are super helpful and friendly.
Such a nice place to go camping.and clean restrooms.
Love this camp ground here....will for sure put this on my return often list.
Park staff very friendly. Clean rest rooms and camp ground. I know its camping but the mosquitoes were out if control. Not sure if they ever run a fogger around but they need to. Bring spray but found a great product. Go get a thermacell.Runs on a butane cartridge and utilizes a blue pad which emits a scent. Keeps them buggers away!
Well run state park away from the coastal hustle Ormond and Daytona. Kayaking, fishing, hiking, birding or just watching the sunset from the village stores patio. History and heaven together. Im going back often.!
Absolutely beautiful and reasonable rates. Very well kept. Will definitely be back.
Very Peaceful and clean one of our favorite places to camp!
Enjoy camping there...also a nice to visit.
Smaller park with nicely sized sites (max RV length 35) with shrubs for privacy. Quiet. Well maintained. Laundry and clean bathrooms. Would definitely return.
Love this place. We come at least once a year.
Very nice campground. The spaces are not very big, but they are pretty private due to vegetation. Shady too. Clean and neat.
Great campground.
Im very lucky to live less than a mile from this little gem. 99% of the campsites have a brush buffer between them, so youre not on top of each other, and the privacy is great. Bathrooms are spotless. This is a full hookup park. The trees are low, and the road around the sites is narrow. This campground is not for the super big campers. They would NOT fit. CHECK THE SIZE OF THE SITES, they are true to size. Certain times of the year, the mosquitoes are out, so bring spray. There is a wonderful general store here that carries many items you may have forgotten, as well as firewood. There is an active boat / canoe/ kayak launch. There arent trails to speak of. ( just one very small one), but theres alot of walking areas ( unpaved) that bring you to very beautiful spots. And if you want to get away, the town of ormond beach is a great place for dinner...( many choices).
Nice campground with private well spaced camp sites, clean bathrooms and hot showers. We enjoyed the rock painting at the Visitor Center and the riverbank fishing!
We stayed here and actually added 2 more days stay there. I absolutely loved the park and all the employees. All were very helpful and polite. We definitely will be back
Great park - sites are private, good sized and clean. Plenty of restrooms. Park store has a nice view, cold beer and last minute extras you might need. Dog friendly and not far from Daytona Beach or Ormond.
I love this place.
Nice clean park.
Great place, off the beat in path, but close to everything..,
Awesome place to see various wildlife shallow water kayaking and canoeing
Nice park, lots of things to do and see.
Beautiful campsites!
Nice park. Lots of hiking. Great boat tour.
Awsome place. Good fishing . nice sites
, clean bath houses 100 sites nice woodsy semi-private tent sites and large RV sites friendly people very nice place as boat ramp grocery store nature trails a lot of wild animals from squirrels raccoons deer coyotes bear and even got lucky and seen a Florida panther in the wild that made the trip plenty of fishing boat ramp plenty of area for fishing picnicking voting it is definitely a must-see and I must stay
Great park. Clean facility
Great sites, efficiently ran, hook ups work as expected, bathrooms/showers clean--really like it, for sure.
Quiet campground with lots of privacy. Bathrooms are clean.
We have been here several times. Very quite and relaxing. Bathrooms are taken care of. Always enjoy it .
The campsites are really quiet.
Beautiful Old Florida campground. Well treed sites. Clean.
Awesome Have ing a great time . you must go on pontoon boat ride awesome .
Excellent park. Not only has awsome hiking trails, but you can learn from the historic sides, from the Tomoca Indians before .
Nice campground, great setting but heavily wooded! I mean you may be close to your neighbor but you will never see them, there is a lot of plant life between you and them. We think our dog got ticks from walking on the edge of the woods......our mistake. It was a nice place to spend two days camping. The roads are dirt and a bit dusty, so dont expect an rv resort. The store was pretty large but did not have much in it. I tried fishing and caught nutin. Was great to watch the sunset by the river. If you fish and have a boat this could be a fantastic place. Access to everything fishing is here.
It was great. Quite and fishing was good and fun.
Very nice secluded campsites, very reasonable price.
Nice forested campground with clean facilities within easy walking distance from any campsite.
I love nature
Great views and quiet campground
Great sites and location!
Great place for a camping trip !!!!! Tell all your friends
Great park, lots of fun, and a great stop for geocaching.
Unpaved roads, but nice secluded sites and nice walking paths. Beautiful picnic spots on the water.
First time camping here and we love it! Clean bathrooms, clean campground area and beautiful fishing areas.
Beautiful grounds and sites! Very private and the trees create a canopy.
We go often nice quiet place to camp
Clean and cozy camp site.
Very nice park campgrounds are nice and very quiet
We loved our week long stay at Tomoka. Clean and serene....great value for the money too! Was just under $200 for 7 nights. The park is easy to navigate and the roads and trails are great for biking. It was an adventure exploring the park with our dog. We especially enjoyed the picnic areas near the river where we had the place to ourselves most days. Trees and riverfront were beautiful. We ended up with a really sunny campsite so I would call ahead for a recommended site if you need more shade. Our tent was a sauna. The entrance staff was super friendly and helpful. They are patrolling the park quite regularly day and night. The bathrooms are being cleaned constantly. Try to steer clear when the tall skinny older gentleman is cleaning the restrooms. Felt like we were slowing his roll. They have a pretty boat launch area and a camp store right there. We were bummed when we found out we couldnt canoe with our large dog. Must be 60 pounds or under with a doggie lifevest. Will bring our own next time. We were told that its best to go early AM when not so hot for best chance to see manatees and dolphins. Cool! Our only real complaint was the fact that the campstore was never open on time. They post an 8am open time. Multiple days we went early and the staff doesnt get there before 8 to be open on time. Was more like 8:15-8:30 each time. Always other people there waiting with us to start their day. Not the only ones frustrated. One guy gave up waiting and left. Also, while I was looking into alternate canoe rental stores, my girlfriend decided to do some work while waiting. She was the only one sitting at one of the 4 available tables in the store. She was politely advised by store staff (so she knew for the next time) that laptops are not allowed, for security reasons (she told him she had her own internet ??). So not sure what that meant. Then he added this is a vacation place, laptops dont fit with our theme. So you may want to leave your work and big dog at home, if you can! Other than that, great place and we would return again.
Nice campground. Sandy roads need to be graded to prevent potholes from holding water and making bumps in the road.
A nice campground with rivers and canoes and kyaks and Native American culture.....but sandy roads made biking awkward at times and we were invaded by giant ants a night before a rain storm.
Wonderful, quiet, great fishing and wildlife
Enjoy camping here with the family.
Nice size, private campsites and riverside retreat
Great place to camp and enjoy Florida weather and nature.
Served as a Great location for a basecamp while visiting the area
Very good place to camp
Love this camp ground.
