Was a nice hike.. pretty muddy and foggy.. but thats just because of the day I went.

Very quiet and some old growth make this a special place. The prison a bit up the road isn’t any worry :-)

Short and sweet tree lined trail loop with steep incline. Nice and quiet.

Love this trail. Its beautiful and a great, quick way to get out into the woods. Im a regular visitor to this awesome loop trail.

Nice short hike. Kid friendly. Could be a bit steep for some people (someone with bad knees) and does get a bit muddy in some places but overall its a great hike.

Trail is a good hike. Lots to see and very relaxing

A little over a mile. Out and back with a loop at the end. Some elevation gain right at the beginning to get the heart pumping. Nothing too dramatic to see, but nice to spend a little time going through ferns and trees.

Beautiful hiking place

Good little hike.

Narrow, under utilized trail on the north (parking) side. It runs along the creek and has numerous trees down over the trail - all of which are easy to go under or around. The North side is open to hunting. The South side is a clearly marked trail with signage and has no hunting signs. There are no facilities / potties here. There is plenty of regular traffic all day long (going to/from the prison). I have not heard of break-ins here, but its always best to put anything interesting in the trunk. A Discovery Pass is required.

Need a discovery pass to enter Capital Forest from here either on foot or by vehicle. Not to far off the beaten path.
