Very relaxing .Because of the smoke from the fires we were able to extend our time here, as folks cancelled their trips .Nice place to ride bicycles. They have a little bar which serves beer and wine on the beach, they have 2 beachs on is where you put your boat in the water. Have a restaurant/grill which serves great hamburgers and hot dogs, chicken in a basket, tacos and so on. Sorry I got no pictures my camera broke. They have camping with tents also . Very clean place to stay, great showers Showers take Washington state coins 1 for 3 minutes. Hot showers and clean. We wil be back for sure. Because of long hair and shaving legs in shower 3 coins was plenty, .
Early September this year me and my family been to this state park for camping. Its not too far from Seattle. One thing I found that its hard to find the camp grounds inside the Park. Even though the directions are marked its not that helpful. Apart from that issue we didnt had any problems. The restrooms were very clean. The Park has a lake. They too have a rentals but its closed when we went. Overall a must visit place.
We made a day-use visit to Millersylvania, using it as a place for Seattle and Portland people to meet up approximately halfway between our respective homes. It worked out really well. The rangers were friendly, helpful, and did a great job of keeping tabs on all parts of the park. The massive trees were a delight, and nice views of the lake are available from many spots on the shoreline. An unfortunate number of people were not wearing masks during the Covid outbreak, but the picnic tables and other places to gather are well spread out. We did not get a look at the camping facilities, but judging by the thickness of the tree cover, Id hope that the sites are fairly well isolated from each other.
Love this park. Pretty lake, and lots of beaver activity. Great place for a walk in the woods. Very close to Olympia (10 minute drive) but less crowded than other parks. You need a Discovery Pass to park here.
This place is a nice relaxing state park that includes an overnight stay if you would like! The showers are hot and the lake is extremely nice! A must visit or at least a must bucket list adventure in my book!
This is a great state park, gets busy in summer time and has limited availability during off months! There are showers that run on tokens, there is a token machine at main restroom. Nice big park, always great staff...reserve early because it gets busy
Circa 2010, Sunday walks at Millersylvania provided great solace during difficult times. Beautiful woods, nice lake, close to Oly.
I love the trail for both walking and jogging. The trails are very well maintained and marked .Its kids friendly and you can bring your fur babies too.please keep them on a leash.Enjoy nature.#LetsGuide
This is a great state park for the whole family. Almost nothing has changed since I was a kid. My almost 4 year old loves coming here. But I also enjoy visiting by myself. It is often packed, so dont expect total serenity. We have had very good luck catching lots of bass and blue gil right off the dock. A great place to go for a few hours of relaxation.
Nice park, lots of shade, good, big tent spots, clean bathrooms, showers take tokens usually two are enough, thats one dollar. Deep lake is just a five minute walk, swimming, fishing, no motor boats. Nice and quiet, a great camping experience, I do recommend and will be back again.
We had a peaceful time kayaking around the lake, seeing Canada geese, Mallards, and Cormorants. Beautiful! The only negative was closed bathrooms by the boat launch, so we had to walk a long way to the next bathroom.
Great park. Doesnt seem to get over populated or to crowded. Easily socially distance.
Great area for camping and having fun family time! They also have designated swimming areas and paddle boats for rent! Cant wait to go back!
Great day use park. Have not camped here yet, its always booked and I live in Oly. I see why its always packed, they have a BEER GARDEN!! I brought my own beer while swimming/tubing but had to visit the beer garden. First time I have ever been to a beer garden in a state park. They had some good choices, an IPA and lagers. The swimming areas were packed. So flipping busy. But, it was in the 90s the day we went, so its understandable. We masked up and tubed out to the center of the lake fast. Spent the day splashing around. Other than being super busy, it was a great way to cool off. Cannot wait to try the camping.
Im not much of a camper, but this place has pretty much all you need. Water spigots, bathrooms that flush, soap n water to wash your hands, showers, a beautiful lake, an ice cream shop, an rv station & boys scouts that sell firewood. I would camp here again. Whenever that happens.
Clean bathrooms, well kept campsites. We stayed in RV site 204, plenty of shade. Respectful campers, no late music or noise. Lake was very busy, no one wearing masks. Beer/wine cafe was open, but you have to consume your drink on the patio, cant walk around with it. So most people BYOB in a cooler.
The scenery is beautiful but it is super crowded. Im not sure how it is on an average day since this was our first trip but camping is completely full, there is not a spot on the beach to swim and kayak rental is steep at $25 an hour. Bathrooms are nice and clean and overall people are friendly. Im just not a fan of over crowded places.
Very nice park, beautiful hike this morning with friends. There are a lot of campsites, boat launch, pier for fishing, kayak and paddle rentals, concession stand, and clean facilities for bathroom and other kitchen areas for big gatherings. Next time I will grab a map prior to setting off hiking or running (they have them at the entrance office) as the trails go on and on and loop around. It could be easy to get lost. Also, this is a great place to bring your dog or pets on a leash, in the event you forget to bring bags to pick up after them, there are quite a few stands with bags all over.
It is beautiful here. I rate it a 3 because we just found this place. We plan to schedule a camping trip for 2021 here and I will reevaluate the rating then. The lake is smaller than what we usually attended but great for the kids and relaxing water activities.
This park is a gem!! It’s so clean and well-maintained. It’s a complete throw-back to more wholesome times when families spent the entire day outside, kids could safely ride around on their bikes and lake water was clean enough to swim in. There is even a snack shack and beer garden, something for everyone! Thank you to the park staff for keeping it so pristine and peaceful!
This is a beautiful park their forest is absolutely magnificent and the park Rangers here do a good job its worth the trip quiet peaceful relaxing, But watch out for the squirrels, theyre pretty Brave LOL
The Lake had Super Clean Water. People were great. Kinda close, but nice if you want to meet other campers.
Wish they had some better distance between sites and easier bathroom access. However the fishing was good, and the water clear. Still a great place to go when your looking for a small get a way.
This is such a great State Park, absolutely impressed by all of the facilities. 6+ miles of trails remote from camping as well.
Great park. We went early, it was not too packed. Wonderful trails to hike, gorgeous scenery. Clean bathrooms plenty of parking and picnic tables. They have a small swimming area for kids. They also have loaner life jackets for the kids that you can use. And a place to get food. Highly recommend for a get together. They also have camping sites
Very well structured and keep up cleaning wise. Family fun and well mapped out so my family could find what the park offered. Going to make it a yearly family camping trip!!
A lot of nice wide trails.
Nice park for walks and a nice swim in the summer. Nice place to hunt for mushrooms.
Loved everything except the size of the campsites. Theyre super tight and super close to the people next to you. Fantastic swimming area, too!
Great place for camping! Very well kept. Theres a lake to kayak and swim in etc. Campgrounds are nice. Definitely a must visit!
Awesome park with great facilities. Easy in and out for travel trailers. Give it a try, in the woods, but close to superb food spots in Tumwater and Olympia.
We love this park. The Rangers and park host keep the bathrooms clean and full of paper. And oh my word it is so quite there.
Ive been coming to this park for years!! It recently opened a concession stand! WOW!! The person working was friendly. Bathrooms were nicely clean. My Mother, Husband & God Daughters had a blast! Thank You Millersylvania State Park! We will be back very soon!
Such a great state park; Clean swimming lake, plenty of large restrooms, water equipment rentals, ice cream and snack stand, and beer garden. The campground is simply majestic.Lots of mosquitoes and I mean lots, so come ready for that and have an amazing experience.
Beautiful grounds! Swimming area, kayaking, picnicking, hiking, camping, covered areas, lots of trees! Concession stands and bathrooms.
Sitting here at 9pm, with people yelling and cussing, 9tger people speeding thru the campground and not a ranger to be found. One of the reasons I loved this place is because the rangers always kept in enjoyable. Not this year, just a bunch of drunk fools making a ton of noise, and nobody here to control it. I will definitely reconsider my trip here next time.
Terrible experience today, arrived to trash all over the first swimming beach located next to the beer garden. Once multiple families arrived and began swimming, a very large amount of human feces was found in the water. I promise you this was definitely human and not animal feces strictly based off of the undigested food throughout it. My family and our money will definitely not be coming back here.
Great camping experience. Fire ring with grate in campsite was really nice. Plastic compile picnic table and plenty of flat land to set up tents among the trees.
Very beautiful campgrounds, surrounded by amazing trails and old growth trees
Beautiful place. 800 acres.very well maintained trails that are user friendly.Lake has several species of fish. Two swimming spots, a beach, and canoe, kayak, peddle boat, or paddle boat rentals.alsi also has three kitchens, a beer garden, and a snack shack. Oh, and showers
The family loved it. Its a great way to spend the weekend. The grounds were well kept. The sites and facilities were very clean, and the lake was perfect. (Bring a paddle board!!!)
Beautiful scenery but the camping was honestly very disappointing. Paid roughly $53 a night to be packed like sardines next to other campers with very limited privacy. Unfortunately felt like we couldn’t leave soon enough which I’m sad to say because we were really looking forward to visiting initially. The lake is stunning in the early mornings though if you have a chance to catch the morning fog on it, and the ranger at check in was friendly.
Fantastic family camping trip. We were able to social distance, tons of hikes and the waterfront was clean and clear. The sites are well kept and rangers were very friendly. I appreciated how often I saw staff in the park.
Perfect destination for camping with amenities near by. Day use is freee and there is a lot of parking and lake access. We took the day off from work and brought our RV out on a Monday, temp was around 95. The parking lots were slightly packed, the lake the same, but plenty of room to stay socially distanced walking around and in the lake. There is a little something for everyone here. Husband got a beer at the garden, kid got an ice cream cone, and mom got to float on the lake away from the crowded beach. This may be our new favorite local swimming spot.
We had a blast renting kayaks on Deep Lake here. The parking lot was packed, but we never felt overly crowded on the lake. Looking forward to going back and trying to beer garden.
There is variety at Millersylvania Park... Little beach with swimming by the lake, lots of trails in savanna environments, and plenty of shaded, beautiful and Serene down deep in the forest trails... The part I love best.
Always a great day getaway for me and my family! Lots of places to explore and enjoy. Clean and organized with good access to all amenities. Just outside town but feels like a vacation destination!
Great place to go. Most campsites are spacious and in the trees. Nice lake.
As far as underfunded state parks go, Millersylvania is as good as it gets. I enjoy the lake swimming and camping but the rangers are never very helpful. The showers didnt work this year, for example. They just needed to replenish the machine with more shower tokens and for some reason never got around to it. Kind of a deal breaker.
Loved everything about the park but our camping neighbors partying until after 2 AM on a Tuesday.
Boat launch, picnic areas, walking trails. Really nice spot for families. We come here every month.
Beautiful state park. One of the last old growth forests left in the Thurston County area. Small launch for paddle boards, canoes and kayaks. Places to camp and fish. Park now charges for parking. For some reason they don’t have there polling station at the entrance so technically you could miss the toll station. Didn’t even know until friends told me to pay. But overall beautiful park.
Love this place for camping. Clean and super kid friendly.
Not as many people there as you would expect and the air quality seemed better under the big trees.
Fresh air and beautiful scenery! Wildlife everywhere in their natural setting. Could you ask for more?!
Wife and I love camping and fishing here every year. Sites are very nice and kept up. Rangers are always very friendly. Plenty of hiking and biking trails, when the fish arent biting.
This is like my 2nd home. It very close to home but, far enough to feel like a vacation. The people there are so nice. They have boy scouts deliver wood, beautiful lake, trails. My favorite seeing rabbits and deer
Pleasant park with nice algae free lake. Has paddle board and canoe rentals.Lots of campsites for nightly stayover.
An absolutely wonderful place to go and swim. Plenty to do besides swimming as well for those who enjoy hiking. This is a very kid friendly place.
Had a great time camping with the family. We were able to go fishing kids swam played at the park.Very nice and cleanAnd bathrooms clean
Best camping place ever. Tent spots, trailer/RV spots, yurts, a cottage for rent, two swimming holes, concessions stand, kayak rentals, fishing dock, boat launch, trails for biking and walking, everything you want. Cell service is spotty but has improved these past few years. But that’s good because camping isn’t about being on your phone, it’s about being in nature and with the people you love. Our family has been coming here every single year for almost 40 years now. It’s known as Deep Lake to us because my grandparents started going to the Deep Lake Resort next door. Rangers are friendly and helpful. Reservations available online, book early because they fill up quick! They have showers and bathrooms accessible in multiple different spots around the grounds. They also have picnic tables and kitchens near the beaches. I just love this place with my whole heart.
Nice scenery. I would advise visiting on a less crowded day than the weekends. The lake was kept really well. The shelter was really nice
Great place so many trees and a very big lake. Nice
Ive been to this park a couple times now and its great. Lots to do for the kids and a really mild and enjoyable
Campsite #7 has a family of moles. But that now have a beer and wine garden with great music. Plus its close to the beach. Ill always come back
The family love this place to walk trails and camp.
This is awesome park! Beer garden, Kayak and Pedal boats for rent, a concession stand with a small but good menu, trails and camping available!Places to fish and grill are available as well as kitchens. Definitely recommend this place!
Plumbing went out and the solution was honey buckets. Toilet paper gone in less than 24 hours and completely full still 32 hrs later. Everything was closed so no boats, kayaks, or kitchrns were open. The people in the park are loud all night long with nothing from the ranger who only patrols the park till about 9pm.Overall, not that great of an experience and dont really plan on coming back. For the amount of cost to camp, you would think theyd be on there stuff.
Always a great place to go. Weather your camping, hiking, fishing or all of the above. Very family friendly.
Nice walk with well worn trails and necessary signage.
Beautiful place, kinda pricey for to lay down for a couple of hours sleep. But worth checking out. It was pretty packed for it being a Tuesday night. Check it out
Good picnic area and grills. Nice place to take a swim.
Great place to relax without driving far at all...Great place for kids and adults. Nice campsites with friendly staff and clean restooms. The walk to the lake is nice with kyak and pedal boat rentals at very reasonable rates.
Absolutely beautiful. Lucky enough to catch a good weather day. Made for tons of awesome photo opportunities. Trails were all family friendly as well.
Amazing park, with swimming in a clean lake that even has a snack bar! We love visiting!
Unbelievably beautiful park. Nice lake, quiet and very enjoyable. Looking forward to camping here again.
Beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Trails, camping, swimming and lots of fun for anyone
Great state park. Lake is nice. Been going there since I was a kid
Short stay. A bit crowded. Sites closer together than I thought. Otherwise ok. Site was well maintained, bathroom and water close by.
Its a great place to hang out with the family. I just wished the water was cleaner and that people wouldnt put pets in the water
Very forested, green lush vegetation, beautiful place to camp, hike & swim! We saw bunnies, various birds, fish, and 3 baby black bears. The only problem was it was a bit crowded & there were many noisy families especially between 6-9, some didnt quiet down after dark.
We were able to go out and maintain social distancing from others and swim and have a great day.
Fun place to camp at. Just wished the campsites werent too close together. We will definitely come again.
Waters warm if u forget something u can rent water toys
Awesome trails. Good for strollers and wagons
Lots of great trails, water opportunities, camp sites are a good size, and beer, cider and wine are available for purchase with outdoor setting.
Fun for family outings, safe, roped off area for swimming, kayaking is allowed or bring your own.
Free park entrance and fishing day. Good turn out. Lots of space to walk.
Beautiful place, but lots of people today and not to forget the group of people picnicking at the kids swim area doing lines of coke! Great family place! NOT!
Very nice park, somewhat crowded. Great hiking nearby.
My parents took the family here on occasions camping during the 60s. A favorite campground, day-use park. Only to return in 2020 to celebrate a granddaughters 6th birthday. She wanted to go fishing. The park is still as beautiful as it was in the 60s!!
