I can not believe I have never stopped to check this place out before! What a blast! My son is doing a summer camp here (highly recommended) this week and we were invited to visit while they got to do the river rapids. It was a lot of fun to watch and I can only assume it would have been awesome to be on the raft with him. There are many other activities to take advantage of here as well.. They also have their own restaurant & bar! We will definitely be back in the future.
We rode the riverrafts today. Roy was our guide. I am a middle age woman who has never been very coordinated. He was so kind and helpful. He was very patient with me when I was unable to keep up with the others and helped me out of the raft. The whole experience was a blast! I also had a similar experience while surfing. The staff were so encouraging! Cant wait to come back!!!
This place is cool. Newer facility that offers tubing, river rafting, and kayaks in a controlled river environment. Also, a ropes course with multiple levels and three mega-slides. Additionally, multiple other activities. The greatest part was the staff - they all looked like high school seniors and early college kids, but THEY WERE AWESOME. All were very polite and had positive attitudes. Whoever the manager the hiring process has a good idea of great people. These kids were great people.
Great fun! Whitewater rafting was amazing despite being man made. Ive done river rafting, this is 100x safer, but again still so fun! Also have small rapids for tubing as well! Kayaking and Paddle-boarding was great too. The 80ft ropes course was awesome then they have a slide down. Follow all of the guides instructions for each activity and its all incredibly fun! Highly recommend for semi-relaxed water sports! Family trip or friend vacation, literally anyone could find something to do!
So sad. Summer hours are over. Only open on weekends now.Is a fun place to go white water rafting, also have tubing & kayaking. Will soon be opening a section for those who enjoy surfing.Come visit! Buy a pass and have some fun!!!
We are visiting from Utah and decided to try this. Had a lot of fun tubing. At one point I got flipped and got banged up a little on my nose and knees. The staff was awesome in making sure I was alright. They got me cleaned up pretty good. I would definitely go back. Cant thank the staff enough
The overholser location is fantastic! So peaceful- you can kayak all the way into Stinchcomb refuge. The leaves are absolutely beautiful in the fall and the water is calm and peaceful for kayaking.
My family and I tried something new and I would rate my experience as unforgettable in a good and bad way! Being in the water and just enjoying that as well as the slides were very fun and relaxing. I went in the inside to buy snacks and when it was time to pay, I realized my bank card was missing. So I asked the lady behind the counter in the little shop where the sodas was if they had a way I can announce if anyone had seen a card laying around( I know it was a far reach) but anyways, the lady assumed I wanted to argue or y’all to someone about my charge for the items. I tried to explain but she was acting so rude that I just left and we started looking for the card ourselves. Fast forward, I gave my daughter some money to buy snacks for the kids and she gave the lady too much money three 5 dollar bills along with a twenty but instead of her giving the extra money, she just gave her change for the 20 so I told her when I found out 1 minute later I went in there to ask her could she count her drawer down if she need to because my daughter gave her too much but she didn’t give that back. The lady just handed me a twenty and I was like that’s too much. You owe us 15 but she started acting like she was scared and saying she don’t want problems and I told her I don’t want your drawer short and I don’t want the extra 5. But she just started saying I will put the money in if I’m short, I just don’t want to count this money. I’m just sad, and at the same time I’m wondering what will come of this situation because at this point anything can be said after we left. I have never stolen anything and don’t ever plan on either. I need to make sure that young woman drawer was short and I want to give her money back. I was never disrespectful or raised my voice but I feel like she was either scared or was just over it at that time. I don’t know is if she was stressed but I need her to know that I was just trying to get back what was mine. Hope she is good! I felt strange after the whole incident!
Great fun rafting the rapids. The guides are all different and you get a new experience every time. Highly recommend the season pass. You are going to get wet. Get a locker.
They close down everything do to slight winds. We barely got to enjoy anything. And no you are not compensated in any way. I will not return. We drove 6 hours and spent $200 to raft once. Dont waste your time or money!
Make sure you go out with plenty of time so that you can enjoy all the venues. So much fun for all ages.
Plenty to do and loads of fun. Our trips down the Rapids were amazing and our guide was very fun and engaging. The confidence courses were fun as well.
Boathouse district with the pump track for skateboarding..my kids love this area.
Fantastic kayaking experience at Lake Overholser for our Womens Hiking Crew! They helped me plan 3 events this year and a few last year. The ladies had a great time! Thank you!
So much to do here and the staff has a great attitude, collectively! What water rafting here is a great time and tubing is a fun way to end the day. Go see Gracie, she’s the coolest!
Regatta. Regatta. Regatta. Thats my reason for visiting. Its my third year to be here. Sometimes it is perfect weather and not as great results as these days with cooler weather. Results were good. Grandchildren had their days and will likely have more good days to come rowing and learning team work with those who share the passion for the sport. Facilities are world class.
Last day o season. Beautiful weather!
Unfortunately I choose this adventure for a birthday weekend and I was throughly disappointed. When I checked in at noon I told the front desk staff I had never been there before. The only information given to me was to fill out my waiver and buy shoes. Once that was completed we walked outside to grab drinks and start an activity. We decided to paddle board. The location of which we could not find. Not a single employee asked if we needed help or guided us at all. Once we asked, we were told there would be no paddle boarding that day. (1.Front desk staff shouldve told me this before suggesting the activity. 2.This was one of the three activities that I paid for).It is now 1:30pm. We then decide to go tubbing. We find the station and there are no staff to be found. We begin to gear up after being watched by staff for about 10minutes. One staff member runs over and informs us they dont open until 2:00pm. (Front desk staff shouldve told me this when I checked in at NOON).We decide to get a snack while we wait for the park to open. We arrive at the concessions and place our order. The staff hands me the one pretzel that had been in the rotator since noon. As soon as I touched it, it crumbled because it was so dry. I ask if it would be ok if I waited for a fresh one. I knew it wold take time and thats ok. The employee flipped out on me. She lets out a big huff and says its going to be a minute and that my friends had already ordered two. I explained that its ok and I dont mind waiting. She proceeds to explain to me frustrated that another employee left them un-stocked and now they have nothing. I tell her its ok I understand. She begins to yell at said employee then walks out of the stand. I dont see them use an oven or anything but watch them put the pretzels directly into the rotating machine. We wait about 10minutes, then all three of us are served COLD pretzels, yet the cheese was so hot it burned through the plastic cups they served it in. I gave up. My friend asked that hers pretzel be warmed and they responded that there is no microwave. How the rest out that turned out I cant even tell you. After our sad snack break we kayak. Which is why this review has one star because that was literally the only positive experience we had at this twilight zone.We then go tubbing. We had a fun way down although the cement blocks underneath can really be a pain in the rear, pun intended. At the bottom of the activity a petit young girl tries to catch our tube (4 woman in their 20s). The current drags her with us and my friends proceed to grab tight to the blue blocks. The poor girl is holding on for dear life calling out for another employee to come help her as we hang onto the blue block. She calls for him but he doesnt come. She tells us she isnt sure what the protocol is here. (Anyone who works in water should be aware of ALL SAFTEY PROTOCOLS.) We offer to get out but she says no. Another woman tries to come to the rescue but is working against the current and is unable to get help as well. Causing her to drop her tube which I catch and now holding on to. Durning this the staff is still calling out for another employee to help. He finally runs over and just instructs us to get out. Like we had been asking for 10 minutes. We arrive safely back to deck and decide to just end our day.I have been paddling competitively for 8 years, earning 5 gold medals throughout my career, needless to say I was very excited about visiting here and paying for my cousins pass at it was her birthday. I regret spending the money/time here.
You need to train your staff at Lake Overholser better with the basic answers to questions like where to purchase the day permits to kayak and how much the daily fee is to fish. You need to train them to provide better customer service; ie. Instead of saying I dont know or I think, say, let me call someone to find out the answer.
Love, love, love the experience! Only complaint is that a worker said it would be an hour wait and kept stressing they close in two hours. Said they close in two hours like 10 times. We decided to give it a shot anyways since we only wanted an hour pass... got down there and there was NO wait. Literally nobody was even down there. Not sure if the kid was lying or if they just have horrible communication, but it definitely felt intentional. Work on the customer service and it would be 5 stars.
The whitewater rafting was awesome!! We had a great guide and it was so much fun!Now tubing was another thing. Both of my teenage kids hurt their backs. One hit his back on the barrier and the other fell out of the tube and scraped her back up pretty bad. Staff didn’t notice they were hurt. We left the park after this.It is a fun place, but there are risks of getting hurt. That’s why they make you sign a waiver.
Lots of fun. Great place to spend the day
I think the is a great idea for a family fun time. There are lots of things for kids to entertain with. The ropes course and slides are amazing. They are so high. Ive done lots of courses and nothing compared to this height. We spent a hot afternoon, about 3 1/2 hours. If you are afraid of heights then this is a safe place to try to overcome that fear. Im afraid of heights and I enjoyed the challenge. I didnt get to do the zip line. The winds were high that day. Ill be heading back again this year with the rest of the family. I know theyll enjoy the course. Great idea OKC!!
Drove 5 hours to check this place out and oh my gosh, my body is killing me!!!!! We just did the tubing and I don’t understand why there are rock hard blocks in the water going down on the tube?? I have major bruising on my rear and lower back. Also, carrying the yellow family tube up the rocky trail all the way to the top each time is exhausting. It can be fun, but not worth the injuries...
I was just checking it out to see if it was family friendly. It was super clean and the employee that I was asking questions was so happy to help and full of information
We got the season pass and its very worth it. Weve gone tubing a couple times and were going rafting here in a few days... but its been a blast thus far. Really excited for Flowrider to open next month as thats one of our favorite workouts.
Love it. We go at least once a week and the staff, all the adventures, and food are really fabulous.
Had fun tubbing want to come back and go kayaking and rafting .
Our family of three went for our first time a couple of days ago. We enjoyed the ropes course, then headed to the white water rafting. We have rafted in Colorado before and we’re looking forward to this adventure. Our raft kept hitting the man made obstructions in the water, our guide was not telling us to paddle or anything, then we hit really hard and went vertical! Everyone was thrown out of the raft near the beginning of the trip, including our guides! My son sprained his ankle. We found out our guide was newly certified. There was another guide there as well, riding along to assist. They felt terrible about what happened and assisted us to our car via golf cart. The newly trained guide was in tears and being counseled as we left. We felt very sad for her as well. In the end, I learned that the guide training is one week long. In my opinion, that is not long enough. I won’t risk the white water rafting there again, but I’d like to try the tubing and kayaking!
Went on my 2 year anniversary and was astounded by the skill of the guides! Amazing fun
This was such fun. And Shelly Cline was a amazing person that has all the answers
The changes to Riversports are unfortunately. I bought season passes this year because of past experiences. However, I was greatly disappointed when I went there for the first time this year. In the past, we took 3 trips around on 2 different courses. Now, one of the courses is closed to rafting and just used for tubing. So the rafting ride is very short (~20 minutes). The tubing takes less than a minute to ride. I think the sacrifice made for rafting is NOT worth it! Please do one thing (Rafting) and do it well. On our trip this week, we spent the entire time hitting walls and holding on for dear life, hoping not to fall out. We paddled very little and it was not fun. This was NOT our experience the on our previous 4 trips there. Something has changed at Riversports and not for the better. Hopefully someone with some power reads these reviews and makes some corrections.
Had a blast!!! The staff was friendly and helpful! And our guide for the rafting, Anthony, was great!!
I went there to paddle board with my boyfriend and while I enjoyed paddle boarding immensely the rest of my expierence wasnt that great. We get there and ask where we rent the paddle boards and we were directed to the large building with windows we walked across the whole campus to discovers there are 4 buildings that fit that description and had to find another employee who then informed us that it is in fact not over here but that we had passed it. We were supposed to go to a separate building to rent paddle boats by the jungle gym. There we were informed to ask someone else because she didnt know. We asked a girl who was literally 5 feet away and she informed us that actually we are to get them down there as long as we have wrist bands. She then directed us to the main building back to the first girl to find where to purchase wristbands. It took us over half an hour walking around and asking around to figure out how to do anything at this place because no one knew how to rent paddle boards. We also had to wait about half an hour to get a paddle board because it was first come first serve and they were out on the water for hours at a time. Once we got it we had fun but most of our expierence was a lot of confusion, frustration, and overall not that great. Please have more helpful employees who know what you have to offer including where they are located and how to gain access to them.
So much fun! Hope they add more attractions
Super friendly staff, and had several COVID protection rules in place but didn’t ruin the fun!
We made a special trip to OKC to come to Riversports Adventures. We checked the website for what type of shoes were acceptable and then were told when we arrived, after paying $5 for parking per vehicle, our shoes where not permitted. We could either rent shoes for $8 a pair or buy some for $30 a pair. We were also told that the rental shoes were not for all activities. What a huge waste of time, gas, toll payments, and very disappointed children.
Just really fun, customer service is great and I enjoyed myself alot.
A great place to have fun; itd be even better if the water can be clearer.
Every bit of the experience was top notch. Our 9yr old Daughter was a bit sceptical of how the white water looked at first....But after that first trip down the black diamond tube course,She looked at us and said,I Cant Belive I Almost Missed Out On This!!!If you Have ever enjoyed a day on the river, then give Riversports Adventures of OKC a shot.We were not disappointed and are ready to book our next trip!
Fun fun fun. We went tubing. They need to make the route longer and a little less risky.
With the season pass and right equipments, you dont need to go to another place. It is perfect to enjoy with the family.
I was planning to go rafting sometime in July and stopped by to get some information about Covid-19 precautions earlier this week. The guest services staff was terrible. They were definitely not taking ANY precautions in reference to Covid-19.They had bad attitudes and are the epitome of poor customer service. It is unfortunate that my experience with the front desk reflects so poorly on the entire operation because I was really looking forward to rafting and would probably have been a loyal customer. They are clearly unorganized and confused. Every staff member seemed to have a different understanding of what is going on. Wont be returning.
The best fun for friends and family....
I enjoy doing the white water rapids here. I initially went two years ago on a company team building/fun day. Then I brought my husband the next year for his birthday. This year we bought season passes because as long as you go at least 3 times you get your moneys worth!Last Sunday was the first time my husband fell out of the raft in out 10 rafting sessions. Ricky and the crew were excellent at getting him back into the raft. He had a small scrape on his hip but other than that no damage at all and it actually made my husband enjoy the trip even more! Its been a great experience and we cant wait to continue through the season.
Great place for ziplines, water sports, rock climbing, kids play areas. This is a great place for corporate gatherings as well as family. There are covered, open air cafe atrangements to have a meal or gather the team. Good food is available, and drinks. Corporate canoe races bring large crowds as spectators.
Everyone is nice and the white water rafting is a blast.
Super helpful staff and the rapids guides are great for all levels on the rafts.
Injured. Family almost drowned. If youve had a similar experience, please contact me [email protected].
Paid $5 per vehicle parking. Read the website stating that you just needed shoes with a heal strap. Got there and they would not allow crocks. They offered us to rent some shoes for $8 a pair and you couldnt use them on all of the activities. Plus with COVID going around and using rented shoes that who knows how they are actually cleaned. We made a special trips to find out that they do not follow their website. Not happy about our trip since we didnt even get to go on any of the activities.
It was fun rafting. Unfortunately, the zip lining is closed and a few other things due to COVID19.
New to OKC, thought i would get a pass to the local water park. Decided i would probably visit a few times this year so got a season pass. Was told the price was 120 then got charged 170. Was told about all the great features, gym, kayaking, discounts on food and drink, waterslides ect. Gym was not open, was unable to get a kayak, couldnt do the slides or rapids or sky course cause i didnt have proper shoes. Staff is under trained and confused about whats going on. Zipline closed as well. I understand the reasons for these things but for staff to sell sell sell everything and when i go to experience it literally everything was unavailable to me. I should have been told by the girl selling these things to me what things were shut down. I should have been told certain shoes would be required to do things at the park upfront and not after the fact when i wasnt allowed to do it. Went to buy a drink from the bar and the first 2 drinks i ordered the liquor for was out. All around a very bad experience. Please train your staff appropriately, please inform guests of the current state of operations at the park.
We love to visit Bricktown in Okc, even more now with Riversports. The kids love everything!!!
To expensive for the things to do. Could not even get on the rafts even though we bought the day pass.
Love, love. First time we did all the land adventures. Excellent chalkenges for the whole family, all ages, skill levels and sense of adventures! Second visit did all the water. Rafting was excellent, guides were friendly, amazing and fun! Great for the whole family and all ages! Definitely will be back for years to come!
We had fun. The adventures were absolutely challenging. Tanner at the rafting area was very helpful.
The facility itself is amazing. Hoping management can make some changes for a fun and helpful staff and to make a way for things not to be closed down all the time. Be sure to call ahead before you buy a day pass because there could be a lot of things shut down. A friendly and excited staff would be a great change for this place! It has the potential to truly be an OKC gem.
It was great to have so many options with our day pass. Just wish the rapids were longer.
AWESOME FUN!!!! River rapids were challenging AND the Ropes course was so cool!Staff very friendly and helpful! Our rafting guide, Hawkins, was amazing and so fun and helpful!!!!
The skipper was awesome and was interactive with my young 4 and 1 year old and was knowledgeable of the area as he was giving a tour. The deckhand, not so much (glasses and shaved head). He was very creepy and was on his phone the entire time. I could tell he did not like kids and even shut the door on them. The experience was great though, we still had a great time.
The whitewater rafting is awesome. Our guide Ricky was upbeat and made sure we had a great time. The zip line, however, took forever. It took over 2 hours. The food is expensive but that was expected. Definitely plan on renting a locker. Fun to go one time to experience it.
Great time and experience
It was interesting to see. A long walk from downtown.
Went here for our daughter’s birthday. So much fun and so much to do as a fam!
I had a great time river rafting. Um slight fear of heights so the other stuff was difficult for me.
The ultimate riversport adventures, kayak, canoe, rafting, rowing. Get a membership and workout in the gym, pick up a new sport and compete or visit for the day. An Olympic training facility and home tonthe US Jr. National team and Paralympics, second to now in the world!Great for kids and adults alike.
Very relaxing and a fun place to get in shape!!
Great time with a great guide!!
This place was an absolute blast, and a great value for the money. We brought our 10 year old who did great on the rapids but in hindsight, I probably should have kept him from tubing. He is fine, but it’s a little advanced for his age/size. My 14 year old loved it!
You know when you see this place from the highway it looks cool but when you get there and see it all up and close its more than amazing. Theres so many things to do so many activities great place for families
One of the most fun places in Oklahoma City for sure
Amazing facilities, if you are into non motorized water sports, you will have a great time rather for hobbie or professional rowing, canoeing and Kayak.
The USa needs more of these facilities.
This was the highlight of my OKC trip. The price is very reasonable and if I were to return to OKC, I would come back. The rapids were definitely the best part of the trip. After a safety briefing which made me think we were about to die, we quickly got in our raft and into the water. Our guide Gato was great and made the trip fun even with a small language barrier. If you are thinking about doing this, stop thinking and do it.My only compliant:I had pre-purchased my tickets and rafting time online and arrived to a huge line. There were windows outside that were for reservation check in but the windows were closed. I asked an employee if we had to wait in the sales line to check in for the rafting trips and they said yes. Luckily, since my timeslot was coming up, they helped my at another desk and got me quickly checked in. I would suggest better signage or better policy for those who have already pre-purchased tickets.
Riversports is really great for the rafting, but is really expensive and not really worth it in my opinion. If you go on a weekend, it will be incredibly crowded and rafting times are limited. They charge $50 for a day pass (and they charge for parking) and everything there besides the rapids is pretty mediocre. The summit climbing silos are right next to this place, about a third of the cost, less crowded, and much more fun.
Great adventure. Be aware they do charge for parking and locker rentals. Another $10 gives you everything you need. Guides and staff were great.
Amazing experience! Juan Carlos our guide was amazing, made sure we all were safe but most of all he made sure we had a blast! 100% recommended
This was a much better time than we even expected. The rapids are completely legit and there are 2x different runs that take about 10min each to finish. You get 3x runs through the course on each purchased rafting trip so while expensive it is definitely worth the money. We will definitely do it again. Not suitable for kids under 10-12 though it is very aggressive...
The day we went was beautiful and it wasn’t very crowded, since it’s early in the season. However, we weren’t able to do the activity we came for and paid for. There was a crew tournament going on, but we weren’t ever informed of it when purchasing our tickets. Instead, we were sent off on a wild goose chase only to find out there were no kayaks available. We made the best of it, but given that it wasn’t crowded and the day was nice, better service would have been appreciated.
I had the BEST time rafting with my group here! The instructors were incredible, especially for a bunch of first-time rafters! By the end, I felt like my team learned a lot about rafting and about each other! Thank you so much to Riversport Adventures and to the Chickasaw Nation for providing such an amazing experience!
This is the best outdoor experience at Oklahoma City for my money. They have a plethora of activities ranging from a dog park to white water rapids to kayaking and stand up paddle boarding to simply picnicking in a lovely spot. There are eating opportunities as well as a bar and many activities that are presented every summer. I highly recommend a season pass.
My experience at Riversport, was not the best.1:The staff seems over worked and stressed.2:I’ve also heard from a number of people that some staff have worked 6hrs with no breaks in the hot sun.3:The rafting was fun but I noticed not every person in my group was forced to sign the waiver, which I thought was odd.-Overall I think Riversport has the potential to be a really fun place, but unless management starts valuing their staff and putting customers safety first...I don’t feel like it will stay open much longer.
For weekend getaway this place is a lot of fun. They have couple different Rapids one is a fast pace course and the other has big drops. Other fun activities include: zipline across the river, bounce houses, skate/bike park, corn hole, restaurant, gift shop, and alcohol beverages stations.
I took my daughter and her two friends here for her 12th birthday. Plus our 18 year old friend went along. They all had a great time! Just an FYI, I was surprised how much little kid stuff was there. Definitely a good place for mixed ages. A fairly reasonably-priced concession stand available. Nice restrooms. Pretty sure the zip line and river rapids were the girls favorite. Just wish the zip didn’t jerk so bad at the very end coming back.
Really good
Had a birthday party there. Mario the river guide was awesome! I was told we would have discounted food since we bought a birthday package. The people serving food were too lazy so we weren’t able to order any food with the beer they gave us. A little disappointed in that service. Would recommend the rafting experience! Thanks again Mario!
We were really excited about visiting the adventure park upon visiting the website and seeing that it was open we drove hours, from Wichita Falls Texas on vacation through many tolls and were met with a closed adventure park. Very misleading and disappointing. Looked really cool though. Update the website!
