I you want to get back to nature, then this is the place to visit. Along the trail are benches and large rocks to stop and sit on.There is a childrens area, covered picnic area and plenty of nature. The flowing pond has catfish, goldfish and turtles.Theres plenty of shade along the trails and of course bugs. Even though it rained earlier today, I did not get bit by any mosquitoes.Go and enjoy the park and happy trails to you!
What a beautiful place for a walk! No bikes allowed on the trails so I pushed mine around for 1.5 miles. Great scenery and the turtles were so awesome!! Plenty of birds to watch as well. Nice trails to walk on, pretty flat with some roots mixed in here and there. Highly recommend a walk in the woods here.
The place was too crowded when we went there on a late Saturday afternoon. But, why wouldnt it be? Its beautiful. I hear that its not that crowded most of the time. Almost the whole area is naturally shaded. Theres so many trees. The trails are well maintained, fairly wide and flat for a pleasant walk. Nice features like bridges and benches and maps and an observationdeck. Theres a good amount of wildlife. We saw several deer. There are also lots of turtles. We saw a crane or a heron (not sure which). Its big enough too let yourself get lost but small enough to find your way back before you have time to start worrying.
Overall, this is a nice park. We enjoyed seeing the four types of turtles sunning themselves. The only downside was signage. Once youre on a trail, there arent signs along the way saying which path is which trail. When we were finished and back at the map at the entrance, we discovered we missed an segment or two of some of the paths. Oops!
Great place for kids to be introduced to nature and hiking. Also great for someone getting back into fitness. Easy trails that are mostly shaded by lots of trees. Also lots of wildlife.
This is a great nature park with lots of winding trails to follow with the kids. They especially love walking around the pond and seeing the turtles and fish in the water. Its also nice that none of the hikes need to be very long. All the trails seem to be loops and are fairly flat and easy for little legs to do on their own.
My husband and I love taking walks here in the evening. There are usually deer out and it’s fun getting to watch them while being so close.
Beautiful. Its come a LONG way in the past few years-- the trails are so well kept! Love the tree houses and the creek area! The animals are so comfortable with humans being present- the deer will see you and not move until youre about ten feet away.
Seen a family of deers and that was a great start to our walk ..... then turtles of all kinds a huge carp swimming around in the murky water...... hell u never know what else is out there.....
Lovely maintained area. Multiple walking paths. Kid friendly paths and a play area.Lots of wildlife- from various birds and turtles, to fish, squirrels, and whitetail deer.Well established trees provide shade in some areas, while native grasses, milkweed and Indian paintbrush provide the local wildlife refuge.Pokemon go players have a chance to find a new Pokemon- there was even a raid when I visited earlier this evening.Well worth a repeat visit.
Its an AWESOME Place! Me and the kids where one with nature. We saw all sorts of critters, fish (tons) and birds all around us. COMPLETELY SUBMERGED IN NATURE AND LESS THAN A MILE FROM MERCY HOSPITAL... UNBELIEVABLE!!! YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS PLACE.
I like going to martin nature park. Trails are not too long so if you have small children it is a prefect spot. Use tick repellent spray. I found 3 or 4 ticks crawling on my clothes and my kids. After coming home remember to wash your clothes.
So beautiful, I didn’t even feel as though I was in the city! Wildlife is abundant and the fish in the creek are abundant. I was astounded at how many there were. I ran here because there was shade, bathrooms and water. It’s a trail system that I was able to get 5 miles in on and not feel bored or crowded. There is a playground here too that is shaded and beautiful for kids. I can’t wait to go back.
Its a nice great maintain park with a good walking trail. We saw a mommy deer with her two bambies, turtles and squirrels. It is a calm place to do exercise, meditation, walking and has a great playground for kids
Great hiking in the city or family learning from nature. Also the plains area would make a great dirt jogging trail.
It has nice walking trails. With some great scenery. I would definitely recommend going there if you looking for a nice outdoors place to walk at. I even saw some deer when I was there.
Great place to walk around with the family. Feels like a rural park though you are just off the Turnpike.
This is such a wonderful place and you dont have to travel far to see it
This is a fantastic place to get a rural feel hike in with the family without leaving town. Renovations have made a good facility great and the staff does a good job taking care of the place. Lots of opportunity for nature learning!
An absolutely beautiful park with trails in N OKC. A small visitors center with some cool exhibits and a playground for kids. The trails are well marked and easy to navigate. Several bird watching areas and so many beautiful water spots. I highly recommend. No pets allowed.
A great hiking experience for young ones. Easy to follow and get around on trails. A few bumps off main trail to allow for exploring. Recommended for all ages!!
The food was fantastic! Our server was great overall it was a great experience here in OKC me and my family traveled her from Texas, and isn’t familiar with the great food spots, I’m happy that We chose this place!
Great place to walk with kids. Might see some animals. Will be even better when virus under control so bldg is open again. Always had good educational activities
This is a really nice park, made fancier in recent years. It hides in a growing area. There are several connected trails/loops, allowing walks of varying lengths. I miss the old prairie-dog town that used to be in the middle. You can bring cat food to toss off the big bridge, and get lots of fish and turtle action. Progressively smaller fish can be found approaching/into the shallows, which vary in appearance, depending on tecent rains. Crayfish, water skimmers, tiny fish, and dragonflies populate the area.Ive photographed deer from the lookout tower. Coming early increases the chance of spotting a harmless snake or bunny.Watch out for ticks, especially in the western field.Nice picnic pavilion, playground, and our kids loved the interactive exhibits in the building.Nice new lookout areas.
I didnt get to see too much because when I went to the visitor center I was warned about hazards to dogs. First, that only service animals, not support animals are allowed and even service animals have threats to them in the park such as coyotes, foxes, ticks, and mama deer. Totally understood and we left but not before getting a trail map and a park suggestion from the guy in the office. What I did get to see though was fantastic. Huge catfish and an array of huge turtles. Ill definitely come back without my furbaby soon! Only three stars because I didnt actually get to see much.
Thanks for providing a sanctuary in the middle of the concrete jungle. Will is a helpful naturalist that is passionate about the animals!
A very nice nature center/park in the middle of the city, a great place to relax for a dayP.S my pics of the park are fuzzy/low resolution
Great place to go walk and its open fron 5am till 9pm. Can see wildlife go sit by creek. This is walking trail and they do have ac office area with restroom or if closed the have portable bathroom out doors. Kids play ground also is on site.
Good, clean, shaded walking paths. Enjoy some nature.
Great place to come for a nature walk. Fun little playground as soon as you walk into one of the many trails. Great for people of all ages. We came early in the am to beat the heat.
Had a wonderful time with my kids. We frequent often. Today we saw a Whitetail Doe and a lot of turtles.
The perfect family outting! Great exercise and the wildlife guides were extremely informative. Our kids had soo much fun!
Nice place other than the Liberals, wish we could have our furry friends with us....but other than that really nice place to feed the .
Wonderful and safe place to walk, workout or just breath and relax. Really enjoy being surrounded by those amazing trees!
My job backs up to Martin nature park and i love seeing the deer!
My kids had a great time! We will definitely be coming back!
Hiking trails and lots of nature to see. Its like being in the wilderness, but youre in the middle of okc. Live it here!
The park is nice. Ticks are horrible though. Seems like there should be something to be done for them. I never left the trail and never touched anything green. 17 ticks... Crazy! The park is gorgeous though!
Nice park and trails to play and walk. Grands enjoyed it and I walked it too. Fun
This place has been a favorite for decades. Even though the area has developed it still feels like you are out in the wild! A great place to take the kids or take a solitary walk. Check it out during any season.
Did photos here. Very pretty location. Clean. Only 4 star due to not allowing pets. Would love to walk my dogs here.
Good spot for soaking up nature, and for shaping a few family pics.
First year doing Fall Minis at this location and I loved it! It is very clean and pretty busy during the weekends. There were a TON of other photographers here but they were very respectful of everyone’s space! This made it easy to work and still have a good time! I always meet very nice people here!
Super fun with family and kids. They have a kids playground and lots of trails. I wouldnt run here and its not stroller friendly but my 2 & 4 year old love walking around. The route are easily made shorter for kids. Make sure you wear bug repellent especially for ticks. There is a visiting center with lots to do. They have a story time every week. Its also fun to go for a day date or just walking alone.
Beautiful trails! I wish they would make some of the inaccessible areas more accessible. But for being where it is its great!
Turtles are cool, plenty of wildlife along the trail. Great little trail tucked away in the city.
Relaxing place to visit with your family and friends. There are easy trails that you can hike with kids. You can bird watch. The pond has many turtles and as you walk along the trails you will spot few deers.
This place was really cool. I walked around a Sunday afternoon and there a number of artistic features throughout the park.
Cool place to get out and walk. You can see different kinds of wildlife, and feed some pretty large fish in the pond or the stream.
Nice place to have a quiet walkabout.
Great place. People are out but it is not crowded outside. Visitor center is open. Park attendants are taking temperature at the door. The visitor center was too crowded for us to feel comfortable going inside. There are portapottys set up by the parking lot.
It is a great way to get your mind off of the day and To get your kids off of the video games and see the wildlife
A wonderful little hidden oasis in Northwest OKC, Martin Park Nature Center has a small network of easily walkable trails through beautiful woods, local wildlife habitats, and open meadows. There are a handful of wet, muddy patches in the gravel paths that are hard to walk around. Also, you’re never very far from the turnpike so it only gets so quiet out here, but aside from those little quirks, this park is a perfect spot to enjoy the outdoors here in town.
Nice little nature trails...... try to break away from trails on south side of park.....
Loved the trails and great views!
It was a great experience. Loved the different turtles and trails.
Great trails and little surprises as long the paths Enough shade even when its hot.
Red dirt, red clay, red rocks + water= Red Waterfalls!Almost 2 miles of scenic trail running. If youre not familiar with the OK red dirt, youd think you were in Mars, because of the red clay ground and red Rock formations. No rock climbing available, but cool place to explore some unique nature surrounding. If you enjoy Frontier City, please stay away. Peace and Plants.
Beautiful park away from the busy retail and restaurant strip along Memorial if you are looking to be in nature. There are gravel trails leading you various parts of the park including look-out points and river beds. You will see deers in the foliage if you pay attention. These animals seem to be used to human and are not easily spooked. Just keep your distance and respect the wild. The paths are well shaded and make for an easy walk for young and old. There is a shelter at the entrance which can accommodate a larger group for a cookout.
Absolutely stunning park. Great trails and wildlife. Great way to get close to nature in a big city.
Caretakers are doing an amazing job and Integris is doing wonderful things for our community. Highly recommend this park.
Love walks at this park. On our most recent trip we experienced a beaver, several squirres and bird in addition to the giant turtles and fish. Take some dog food or broccoli to feed the turtles.
First time to this park just loved all the attention given to nature
The perfect little oasis in the suburbs! This parks gives you a tastes of everything nature could offer. An incredible park, with activities for all ages. And a Beautiful trail that allows for you to explore and enjoy your surroundings!
Very nice trails and lots of wild life.we saw deer up close and personal!
Great place for a nature walk or hike. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Take the kids, some catfood, and prepare to spend zero dollars on the most fun youve had this week. Theres a playground, trails to walk, and my favorite part: a bridge over waters that I can only describe as INFESTED with huge carp, turtles, snapping turtles, etc. Dont worry, youre safe. Throw some food over the edge and watch the ensuing feeing frenzy.
Its a nice well kept up park and trail area. There are areas that need some attention hand rails and such nothing major. There is an abundance of turtles and fish that are constantly on the surface of the water.
I was visiting OKC for a week and wanted a nice free place to walk after a long day of class. This place was perfect! I was surprised there werent more people there. There were nice short trails with beautiful things to see. Lovely places to sit and birdwatch. There also was a fun kids area. I went by myself and was uncertain about safety, but there were lots of single people walking around. I was too late to see the nature center, but the lovely little stream and trails were the main event anyways. I would go back again.
Great place to take family and enjoy a small slice of nature in the middle of a city
Lot of construction going on right now, but the future looks so bright.I came here all the time as a kid and loved exploring the trails and getting a peek at wildlife. As an adult this is really just a lovely place for a quick afternoon walk in a forest preserve just right outside the city. Beautiful natural features and well manicured trails.
Awesome place to take the kids to run off extra energy or just a leisurely walk. My grand daughter loves it and looks forward to going.
I have been coming to Martin Park since I was a kid, and the scenery never gets old!
Amazing wildlife but you cant take the dog
It was beautiful. Nice place to go walking at. And great place to take children of all ages.
Beautiful park with lots for kids to enjoy. Theres a playground at the entrance, and different paths visitors can take to explore the park. There are also plenty of signs throughout the park to help visitors learn about surroundings and wildlife. Only downside is theres an area under construction, and there are no signs that tell you that, so you have to backtrack the way you came in to find your way out.
A little bit of nature inside the city. Lots of trails that wind around so you are never that far from where you started. Turtles, deer, birds and more.
Good little hike, easy to get to. Lots of deer and birds to see. Large turtles and fish in the pond.
I always like coming to Martin Nature Park. It is peaceful and quiet. Great for a walk.
Great place to get the kids outdoors. We really enjoyed the trails and the little nature center we got to explore. After our little hike, we sat and ate at the pavilion then the children played at the playground before we headed out. Beware of ticks though!
Super cool place to explore. Nice playground, hiking trails, and nature center inside.
Beautiful oasis in the middle of the city. Nature, quiet, relaxed. Open your eyes and ears to become aware of the miracles around you...
Beautiful trails. A nice contrast from the city life.
It was fun. We saw lots of animals including this deer.
Highly recommend this park! Either alone, or with friends/family, the trails here are easy going and super calming.
There are different things you can do from taking a nature walk, stopping and looking at the birds or honeybees. Theres a long bridge as you cross you can stop look down over the railing and see all the different fish in the river, three are big catfish, carp, perch, lots of different sized turtles!! Right now theyre open from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. but the hours will change I believe in April, and those hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. In the Nature Park Center you can see different artifacts that have been found throughout the park.I believe right now its currently closed due to some remodeling. Martin Park is definitely mine and my kid favorite place to go!!!
Ok this isn’t a review but a response to all the crybabies that give this place a poor rating. First of all NO dogs are not allowed, most people don’t clean up after their dogs anyway. And furthermore dogs would absolutely scare away any chance of seeing the already shy animals that still live there. Then there are the crybabies about ticks and mosquitoes, it’s the outdoors it’s nature, put on bug spray or stay home. This is a natural habitat in the middle of a growing city, enjoy it as it is or stay away.
Small wildlife ecosystem which is sweet and simple, very pure and has good nature spots. Best time to visit is in the morning around sunrise to avoid crowds and enjoy wildlife. It has lots of deers, armadillos.and many bird species which can easily be sighted during dawn/dusk.
Fun place to hike just remember dog or cat food for fish and turtles
The public park of NO. They should lighten up a little and allow dogs and fishing for kids.
A beautiful natural place to be wirh your family.
Very beautiful! Nice trails in the wood with beautiful creek full of large carp.
Took my kids bug hunting and they head a blast!
Love the canyon area..bring water and snacks. Gets really hot
This place is beautiful. All water points, in particular.
Love it seeing nature without leaving the city!
Great family picnic and hike, bring tick repellent and check before you leave
Great place for a leisurely walk with the family. Lots of wildlife to enjoy.
