Its a beautiful park that is surrounded by Lake Hefner. There is a playground for kids, a skate park, a workout area, plenty of benches and picnic areas. There are ducks and geese hanging around the park. Nice walking path around the park to walk around. Been going to this park since I was a kid. I enjoyed it then, and enjoy it now as an adult.

Huge park with a lot of walking/jogging and biking trails. There were a lot of people there for a Friday morning, but everyone kept their distance from eachother. There was no power in the covered area but there was a beautiful walking path along the water. Huge lake. Highly recommend. Great place for kids

Just a short 1 mile bike ride from home and so much to do. If you like walking, running, jogging, biking, boating, fishing, dog walking, skateboarding, exercising, or feeding birds and ducks, its all here. New fitness court and skate park are positives. Love this place! Good vibes and great water views.

I literally go here everyday of my life. I love Stars and Stripes and so does my doggo. Nice people and nice place to walk around safely.

Good place for the young kids if the adults would share the park. There is no port a potty close if had to go. I give 4 stars if it was more kid friendly.

2020 Pandemic Review:So overall I thought it was a really neat park and my daughter loved it! Its open from all angles which I love and don’t love, for me personally it’s a safety issue but I watch my children However during this global pandemic I would not recommend going as there are a ton of kids and so unless you don’t feel comfortable without I might find a more secluded park in okc.

Great parks within a lake area and like bringing the kiddo there!

Amazing Skatepark. Only complaint was that there were like 17 kids in the bowl sliding around and down it so I hit a little kid he is okay btw. Im 13 so I didn’t hurt em.

Its one of the best parks in the city. My grandson loves to go there and they have added other feature like a place for skate boarding and an e er ise feature...it has always been great for walking, running and biking with plenty of benches which they could add near the water but overall...great park to visit

Nice playground for kids. New skate park for boarders. Can sometimes be crowded. Not a bad place to cookout IF you clean the grills. Good views of lake.

Love this place . Always clean, great place for parents to bring kids to playground . See and watch the ducks play, geese, wallk, fish, and play Pokemon Go for those that play there are several pokestops and I think 3 gyms there .

There are many features to Stars and Stripes park. Firstly, there are multiple large playground equipment pieces. They are suited to various ranges of children 2-12. The park uses those wood chips as impact material so no sand. There are also 6 swings and 2 baby swings. So for a playground, it is well stocked.There is ample parking as well as handicapped parking and access. Binges provide lots of seating for supervising the children as well as stopping along the sidewalk. There are public bathrooms in the brick pavilion as well as multiple porta-potties. There are many concrete picnic tables and grills. The pavilion is covered, and there are a couple other covered picnic tables also. There are lights spread throughout the park.Aside from the playground equipment, there is also a basketball half-court. They installed a fitness section which has built-in equipment to do various exercises such as lunges, box jumps, speed drills, and pushing and pulling exercises. They have also added a skate park, with a large bowl and a few ramps, stairs, and railings.

Whether just driving around or getting out to walk its always a great escape. The lake provides an amazing backdrop for any type of photo even during a rainy day.

Its GREAT BUTTTT NO SHADEEE! U will have to bring a tent.

My rating is only so low solely based off a bmxers experience. Its a cool park and I bet the board pushers have a blast there lol.

We call it Rocket Park because of the big rocketship play area. The kids love it. After were done playing we usually walk this part of the Lake Hefner trail.

Portable restrooms are clean with T.P. Outside workout equipment. Nice lake view. BBQ grills. Decent park.

This park has been majorly overhauled in the last 20 years. Time was, this park was not a place you would want to visit, especially with children, especially late in the evening. Skate park area is clean and well maintained. Close to the lake front, so the views are beautiful

I like this spot! There were a lot of people out and about today due to the beautiful weather. People with their kids, out walking dogs, bike riding... But we humans are messy creatures!! The trash cans were at capacity so there was trash on the ground around the trash cans. But thats not the parks fault! Get outside. Enjoy the day. And do all that stuff at this park.

Very good for the most part, but as a cyclist wanting to bike around the lake the lack of a bike lane on the dam was a little disappointing.

Nice place to hangout with friends and family. Pretty much long paths and you can find a public outdoor gym. Too many flies during night. Be careful

Stars and Stripes Park at Lake Hefner is a wonderful place to go for outdoor activities. There are plenty of BBQ grills and tables, a large playground, walking trails and volleyball nets. We usually go in the evening to BBQ and walk on the trails. The trails are paved, which is great for persons using a cane or wheelchair. Family friendly. Wonderful photo opportunities and even a lot of birdie conventions!

Stars and Stripes park is excellent. The is beside the lake Hefner. You can see the beautiful sunset from the lake shore. There is play ground for kids, shelter for picnic, bench, and bbq grill spot. It is a nice place for walking or running. There are lots of ducks in this park, kids will definitely love that. There is also fishing points to catch bass, walleye, catfish, crappie and others.

Kids love it, they can see boats and kites while theyre playing. Plenty of trashcans, plenty of trees for shade on the hot days. Cool place to come in the evening without kids and walk the path by the lake

Stars and Stripes Park is on Lake Heffner. Its beautiful there any time of day. We decided to pick up tamales and enjoy lunch in the park. Local geese and water fowl drew near in hopes of handouts. There are trails, a path to the lighthouse, picnic areas and places for children to play. Highly recommend.

Beautiful park with nice amenities. The water is beautiful, there were a ton of birds, but interestingly enough not a lot of bird poo all over the place. I didnt use the trail which circumvents the lake, but Ive heard plenty of great things about it. Very active with picnics, kids playing, kayaking, cycling, running, fishing and people skateboarding all very respectful of each other. Ill definitely be coming around here again.

Great location on the lake

I posted a picture of the rocket ship that was there in the 70s when I grew up. It was huge, all metal, and with multiple sections. Many times it was with fear that I did, or did not, go down the curvy side.The sounds of footfalls on the textured metal ramps, with the wire mesh fence jangling, gravel being pushed around and doing its own slide, and of course high-pitched voices in playground ecstasy. Definitely the best toy of my childhood. (MAYBE the minibike, well, bicycle, too).Love the setting of Stars and Stripes park, too- at least Lake Hefner is still there! Beautiful.

Very nice place to take the kids to enjoy some fresh air

It was ok but there were a bunch of grownups hanging around drinking smoking cussing and banging their music. Not real kid friendly for a Sunday afternoon/evening

The dirtiest of dirty parks. Theres the lake. The ducks the playgound n picnic tables. Its a shame okc operates with such a standard of nastiness tho.

Its a nice park! The only problem is there are wayy too many spiders all around so keep an eye on your kid/s!

We went on a Saturday in the middle of July. I was expecting to have problems finding a bbq since we arrived late afternoon. But the park is pretty big and has lots and lots of tables and bbqs.Everyone was nice and the kids were all well mannered. The park is for kids of all ages, with updated play equipment. They have a skatepark that is for all ages and skill levels. There is also a memorial at the park but I will have to check it out next time

Need restrooms. The potty be really nasty

Needed a meeting near our hotel, so I came here. The geese and ducks are very fond of this place and will hold up traffic often. The building in the park is secured by chain link fencing and that happens to be were the restrooms are located. I saw only one porta john and it was disgusting. I was curious if I would be able to launch a canoe from here, but probably not since the comments suggest there is no swimming here.

Always had been a great place to take the kids. Only complaint would be that the playground is starting to see some wear and tear (specifically one slide with a very large hole).

Great place to go by yourself, with a loved one, with your kids/grandkids to sit, walk/walk your dog, ride your bike while enjoying the beautiful views of the water. You can fish, watch people do a little boating to even jet skiing! Many walk & bike trails & even two nice kiddie playgrounds, baseball park & now a skateboard rink to do your tricks. (Minus Occassional geese poop you gotta watch out 4 when they come in its plesent anytime of the day and evening)

They always host Puggerfest here in October and boy its so much fun. With food trucks and lots of cute puggy faces to love on. Never disappointed and the lake view is really nice! The park is kept clean and tidy and even for a park bathroom I have seem worse

Beautiful in summer, quiet in winter. Good place for small children. Converted pavilion for parties and picnic tables with charcoal grills for chilling.

Right by lake Hefner, there is a place for kids to play, can grill food, a place to workout, scate park, covered pavilion, walking trails, take in beautiful sunsets, great fishing in the lake(be sure to have an Oklahoma license and your okc permit). Great place for birthdays or family gatherings.

Well maintained park and pavilion. The bathrooms were clean with ample toilet tissue plenty of parking around the park and sports fields. Great skate park too. The walking trails are nice with great view. Everything was clean and neat....and it was Saturday!

Great park. Plenty of places for kids to play, and even better now with the addition of the skateboarding area.

Great trails for walking /riding. Depending on the route, its 10-11 miles all the way around. Busy, but not congested. Can easily maneuver on my bike without stopping or slowing down too much.

Water views. Dog friendly. Walking. Biking. Skating. Ducks.

Its not good if you bring your children there, yeah Im talking to you Karens thinking that you can drop off a 9 year old and trust them there without disturbing skaters such as myself just take them on a hike or the playground you people ruin the experience of skating the best park, btw to the other skaters go there at 9am to get the best session of your life no people and you skate by yourself and some friends to make the session a little more enjoyable other than that its a really good skate park.

This is a fantastic park, and it is great for all ages. There is plenty of space to play field games. There are running trails and playgrounds. There is also a great pond with ducks one can visit on calm afternoons.Ive spent many hours reading here, doing homework outside, and going for walks on the trails.I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The park is beautiful, but its probably the dirtiest park Ive ever visited, you will see trash and empty water bottles lying everywhere Cmon people, please clean up after yourselves.

Love this place. I really like the walking trails that take you away from the main path. No need to worry about the bicycles zooming past you. My dog Bear cant get enough of this place. So many smells and squirrels and rabbits. He just loves it! The skate park was a brilliant move. If only there were these back in my day, we wouldnt have been thrashing all over town. Lol.

One of my favorite places to exercise. Pretty views, cool wind coming off the lake, and experiencing nature. Just be sure to avoid the goose and duck poop!

My family very much enjoys the local lake. The park the restaurants the workout equipment the walking trail and bike path the ball park and the dog park the boats all make it a family place to be. Grills and picnic tables available. Always something to do. Very welcoming.

Did not go to the playground part of stars in strips (although I remember going when I was young and it was very cool!). I went with some friends to check out the new skate park I heard was out there. Its a nice little park I have to say. Even though I dont skateboard anymore it is a nice little spot to test the top speed of high powered RC cars!!
