Lived here much of my life and still learned some really cool new things!!Great exhibits. Well laid out. Lots of information. Learned a lot of things about the state they never taught in OK history growing up. Plan on at least 3+ hours to see it all and even then thats rushing.

An Oklahoma treasure! It has lost more than half of its funding over the past 10 years and still keeps OK history alive. And, are in the process of adding the OKPOP (Oklahoma Museum of Popular Culture) in Tulsa across the street from Cains Ballroom, to open in late 21 or early 22.

My sister-in-law is part Native American and I was sending her so many pictures from the museum about her ancestors (Choctaw) who are from the area! She loved the proper representation of her people and their stories, and she can’t wait to get out here and see it for herself!

I agree with the other positive reviews. As a visitor to Oklahoma, the exhibits and displays provided an interesting view into the nations 46th state. Theres something here for everyone and research options too if a deeper dive is desired.

So much to learn here! Its set up in such a way that it shows history as more than just facts and figures but as a relevant story. And the story is about the state as whole throughout decades and centuries. It includes the different cultures of Oklahoma as well with the Native American exhibits, the vintage kitchen, the horse-drawn carriages, the television displays, and even a Sonic display. I thought it was really neat being able to learn about things about towns Ive grown up in and traveled to. Its definitely worth a visit.

The Museum is large, and has several galleries to explore on a few floors. The Exhibits are fantastic. Everything is laid out and organized well. In some rooms, there was too much stuff, but we did come out learning quite a bit about Oklahoma. We enjoyed the quick glimpses and the overview in all the rooms, but we particularly liked the exhibits devoted to OKC’s commercial history, the Vietnam War and the local soldiers, the 39 Tribal Native American Tribes, the Steamboat “Heroine”, and the oil and gas industries. The airplane “Winnie Mae” and the Helicopter hanging on the ceilings were intriguing.

Waste of tax dollars. There is nothing interesting about Oklahoma. The gift shop is run by a limp-wristed weirdo, a couple of them, and the whole thing is way overblown. Red dirt, oil, and buffaloes. Then a series of exhibits detailing the decline of minor commercial consumerism. Wow, Im blown away by this treasure trove. And it is mostly just offices of over-educated pompous do-nothings taking every kind of government paid leave and program available. Thanks Pelosi.

This museum provides a good history of the state of Oklahoma. Although I have lived here 26 years of my adult life, I learned so much in just the first two exhibit halls! The museum is very well laid out and the exhibits are beautiful. I cant believe the museum has been open 14 years, as it is very clean and looks brand new! There is a good mix of interactive learning for adults and kids and view/read only items. Many of the Native American bead work items are stunning. The Oklahoma / Vietnam war gallery was unique, very moving exhibits to say the least. Fun to sing and dance along with the Oklahoma musical playing in the Noble Foundation Gallery. Outside, the museum grounds are also beautiful. Too much to write - I had a great afternoon. Easy to navigate, ample parking, great gift shop, lots of photo opportunities! The staff was also friendly and helpful.

Never in a million years did I think Oklahoma would build something that I would enjoy visiting related to history. But this is really a nice place. Would I love to see A more in-depth and accurate visual depictions of the Native American culture, and the impact natives have on who we are as Oklahoman yes. But they still did a wonderful job. I would like to see more of Oklahomas truth in regards to the racial tension in the 1920. It should be displayed that we in fact had a race riot in Tulsa, that what is now know as Bricktown was mostly own and operated by black people. Maybe in the future they will change it up a little and show some of the ugly truth.

Okay, heres a free trick, as you enter the center there are two feedback portals on either side, be sure to give the feedback after you finish the tour and Before you get into the gift shop, you get discounts upto 10% Youre welcome! Now the Center itself is Extensive and Beautiful. Book a Whole Day! Take the Kids definitely. There is so much for them to do with the Centers Hands in History initiative! I was tired from walking around the Indoor exhibits only! And then theres Outdoor exhibits. You donot want to miss this one. The Gift has such beautiful items, Do get yourself a Dreamcatcher! Or the Chiming Hearts!

This place is one of the coolest places to visit in OKC. If youre from here or not its a must see. I have been several times and always enjoy the changing exhibits. The details on the museum are my favorite part. They pay so much attention to every little thing. The garden is also beautiful and a great place to hang out on a cool day and just have your lunch. There is a cafe upstairs that serves basic stuff like sandwiches and salads. And even its fully decorated. The price is really inexpensive for what you get. I cannot wait to go back again.

Ive been to this museum several times over the years, and I drive up from Dallas to visit! My only complaint is that 1) they have a world-class museum with an audio tour, but they dont advertise the audio, and 2) most of the exhibits arent properly signed with the audio-tour stop, so you wind up guessing most of the way.

Very difficult to figure out. The cafe was closed as well. Rooms do not indicate the displays, just the names of doners. For the most part, it is essentially a tribute to all the influential people who have made contributions to Oklahoma but not a complete Oklahoma History. Where is the mention of Geronimo, Quanah Parker, Indian boarding schools, imprisonment, Buffalo Soldiers? Why does Douglas High School get such a large display but I saw nothing about Deep Deuce, Boley, Tulsa Race Riots, this is not the Oklahoma City history center. I learned a lot about the Diffee family. Many of the displays were typeset so small they were not easy to read. Some of the objects were placed so low, only a child could see them easily. Im addition there was a typo of the word Earth in the Native American display. The languages and videos in that section were wonderful!
