Tonight was my first visit to the Jewel Box and it was delightful! We saw Arsenic and Old Lace one of my favorites! The cast was marvelous and the theater is splendid! I’ll be turning in October to see A Raisin In the Sun.bravo to the cast and crew!

I have the opportunity to catch a show here once a year. The shows are always good and very professional. The theater is showing its age but still a great place to forget the troubles of the day and be immersed in the program. Recommend you check out a show if you have the opportunity. And the prices are very responsible for theater.

Absolutely best value for your entertainment dollar in OKC. Small intimate theater with community actors who put on a fun show. They have some great local talents and best of all the price is very reasonable compared to Broadway OKC especially if you buy a season ticket. With the impending sale of their church I dont know what next season will be like but the past 2 years have been GREAT.

The Jewel Box Theatre has been a staple of local community theater for over 50 yrs. This little 150 seat theater in the round is presenting its final show before it is forced to move because its host, First Christian Church is for sale . The theater, located in the north west end of the church, has been great for seeing comedies, dramas, the occasional musical and their final show, Little Old Ladies in Tennis Shoes, a new comedy about a 30 something single career girl who unknowingly buys a house in a retirement community (oy vay). The biggest problem with the venue is the total lack of ADA handicap access. It must have been grandfathered in (no pun intended) so if you go to see Jewel Boxs final show, just know that their are steps regardless of your infirmity. Its like going to a restaurant which is hard to find and the wait staff is mean but the food is heavenly!Bottom line, go see their show which runs Thursday- Saturday nights at 8:00 and Sundays at 2:30 until Dec 7, 2019. I know youll enjoy this little Jewel of a theater (pun intended)!

Jewel Box is a community theatre in the round. Have gone there for many years. They have produced original plays also. Enjoyed their production of Wait Until Dark.

So why 1 Star? It would have been nice if we were informed ahead of time that the seating capacity is relatively small and that most of the attendees are season ticket holders which means they get first seating. No where does the web site or the actual theatre mention that non-season ticket holders should not wait in line with he season ticket holders. So my wife and I arrive about 50 minutes early, get in line work our way up to the check-in podium, find out we have to get in a separate line that has only just started forming. So I start noticing the auditorium looks like it’s almost to peak capacity. At the same time I hear other season ticket holders mention that they are saving seats for those who have not yet arrived, which By the way is frowned upon according to JBT website, so I take one last look inside the auditorium and realize the only seats remaining are ones that are almost behind the stage and that even though I called two days in advanced to make sure I was on the list, I still did not get an opportunity to view the play or have acceptable seats.

We have been here many times and never disappointed. Love the shows and the Theater is in the round so there is not a bad seat in the house.UPDATE: The quality of the shows has gone down quite a bit this season. Driving Ms Daisy and Heaven Can Wait this year were amazing!! The acting was as professional as can ever be expected. Leading Ladies was funny and done well also. However, Bus Stop was horrible. The man that played the drunk... did a fantastic job. The rest of the cast was ... well, boring. (I am so sorry!). The story line lacked a LOT. In face, since this is a church theater we were quite shocked at the story line. Several left after the second intermission. The past 3 plays have not been up to par at all. Very disappointed after attending all these years. One more play this season... and we already gave our tickets away for it. May have to rethink buying season tickets next season if it doesnt improve. So disappointing as this was our groups FAVORITE place to go.

Chicago - The acting was superior and performances so well done. Just have one BIG problem with the language and provocativeness. I realize this was the reality of the era but did the song Mama sang have to so profoundly slander the name of Jesus? The bible very clearly states not to take the name of the Lord in vain. It was very painful to hear and hard to condone the performances. Especially in a church attached affiliation.Looking forward to seeing all your future performances, unless this sort of language prevails.
