Just love this place! I learn something new every time I come with students. This time I just had one and with our co-op and all libraries closed, I wondered how/where to finish the module. They understood and after we perused the exhibit, though no rooms were open due to Covid, they allowed us to use a couple benches in a corner to plug in my microscope and continue studying our unit on bones.
The absolute highlight of our trip to Oklahoma City was this museum. So very well thought out! Everything labeled adequately, the place was spotless and the displays were absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to visit again and spend more time learning about the skulls and skeletons on display. Definitely worth visiting!
I have never seen so many skeletons. Awesome signage with all of them. The young lady cashier was nice and friendly. I of course spent money in the gift shop on cool skulls and a reasonably priced T shirt. Thanks and it is good to know I am not the only person fascinated by skulls and bones.
One of the coolest museums Ive ever visited! We drove out from Dallas, TX for Halloween wedding anniversary weekend, and this place was the reason why! I am so glad it did not disappoint. It seems small from the outside, and I even initially thought it was far too small to enjoy, but boy was I wrong. I recommend giving yourself ample time to get through the whole building if youre a reader like me, because you can get so caught up in reading the plaques on the different animal skeletons, that time flies by! Ill definitely be back for a forensic night!
A wide variety of skeletons from animals to human. All beautifully articulated in poses that you can imagine the animals doing in real life. It looks small on the outside but its actually got a lot inside. Its also 2 floors.Staff always are willing to answer questions or at least try to find someone who knows the answer if they dont know it themselves.Gift shop has a lot of cute things for all ages but the skulls for sale are probably the coolest.
This place was awesome! Much smaller on the outside than I expected. It doesnt seem like a museum but theres so much to see once you get inside! Super cool and we learned a lot too! Staff was amazing as well
This is a fantastic place to visit. You will spend about 1-2 hours looking through the exhibits, and well worth the time. This is not a kid only museum; adults will learn just as much! The museum is only one room, but a wide variety of skeletal displays to explore. A must if in the Oklahoma City or Norman area of Oklahoma!!!
Would give it more stars if I could. Perfect examples and real examples for all species of animals. Great for kids and adults alike. Gift shop was lacking but all the exhibits made up for it. A must see.
One of the most interesting museums Ive ever been to. I definitely learned a ton. And even if you dont want to go around reading everything, its a low price to pay to even just look at all of the cool specimens they have. Their gift shop is just as interesting!
Great place to learn more about the creatures and see their skeletal remains. Very nice staff and a pretty cool spot to check off your list of places to see around the area.
A complete surprise based on the exterior of the building. When you arrive it seems like its just another Warehouse building but as soon as you go into the museum itself you become in awe of The Incredibles selection of skeletons of every size shape an animal you can imagine. I expected it to be all large animals but there is everything from an elephant and a giant whale all the way down to the skeleton of a hummingbird. Truly an incredible time. Far exceeded expectations based on the building itself from the outside!
Very cool place to check out. Its small but there is so much to see. Love the set up. Really cool gift shop there as well.
What an amazing hole in the wall!!! You find it tucked away in the back of some industrial park. I took my 2 teens, and we were there for 2 hours! So much to look at and so much info!! The receptionist was knowledgeable and sweet! We will def be going back!
It is a really neat place to take family, its not as big as it looks about the size of a dollar general, its two stories and packed full from top to bottom has quite a few complete big skeleton, whale, bears, giraffe, and a good timeline for how humans changed over thousands of years, they have many complete skeletons from the small mouse to huge animals,. Youll be done in an hour,. Its kinda expensive for the time frame it takes but its a good place to take the kids to get a wow out of them, you go at your own pace so no hurry,
This place is a must see if you are ever in the area. The exhibits are amazing and well displayed. My husband and I had a great time looking at all the many skeletons
Small museum, however very complete and beautiful, it is pretty organized and have a lot of information for kids and adults.I loved!
When you first walk in you’re greeted by a nice lady with a smile. She take your admission ($10) and goes over real quick about the museum.Upon entering you’ll see tons of skulls and skeletons. The museum is super clean and doesn’t have a smell at all. There are tons of facts with all the skeletons which I found very nice. Could spend a long time inside reading and looking at things. They encourage touching of the bones you can reach. When you exit they have a nice gift shop with reasonably priced items.I would recommend this as a nice visit when you’re in town.
The only skeleton museum in the U.S. I wish there where dino bones. Over all pretty cool.
The entire family had a great time here. We spent about an hour and a half and got to see everything. The museum is setup well and everything is showcased nicely. They even had activities like coloring, scavenger hunts and touch tables to aid in the overall experience.
The museum was very informative, educational, and had quite a large quantity of specimens. The bones are well preserved and well taken care of. There are two floors worth of displays, but have a lot of information on each display. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I would love to go back. The staff was also very kind and stayed open a few minutes past closing time in order for us to look through the gift shop as well.
Theyre bones all right.
Amazing museum. Thought Id spend an hour but time just slipped by with all the displays...2 stories and tall animals in center with some suspended from ceiling. Highly Recommend
Very cool and informative. Loved seeing the morphological differences in the different dog skull’s, but the hippo skeleton was probably my favorite. Definitely a place to check out of you are in to science or have kids.
Love it!! This was our first time coming and it was amazing! When we got there the building looked tiny and didnt think it would be worth the price but as soon as we got in there it is breathtaking. It is so informational and so much to look at, we will definitely be back again!
Epic ya know cool stuff very epic a true gamer moment
Place was amazing! People were very friendly knowledgeable.
Very neat place! We enjoyed our visit.
This museum was intriguing!! I have never seen anything like it! It was fun and educational. 8 dollars per adult to see 2 stories of skeletons! Humans, dogs, cats, birds, rhinos, whales, etc from all across the world! They will even let you go to the back storage room and see even more. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would recommend this museum to anyone that finds this interesting. Oh, and you can buy real human and other animal skulls/skeletons!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! we donated an emu that we had pass away. Owner, Jay is so cool
Great variety of articulated skeletons of animals from around the world. From a mouse to a whale and everything in between.
Over 350 real animal skeletons! It was pretty cool to see for sure. Its the largest privately held collection of osteological specimens in the world! And its the first of its kind in America!
This was cool. I enjoyed seeing all the different bones from animals to people. A lot of neat stuff there to explore, great for kids. My daughter enjoyed it as well.
This place was AWESOME! I loved seeing just what makes up all of the things that we share our planet with!
Excellent collection of skeletons - hundreds of species.
I really appreciate how much they have to see in such a small place. It is small but never felt cramped. Lots of great information about each display.
We love this place! My son is 6 years old. We have attended the Halloween Party here for the last 2 years. They have such an incredible collection of skeletons, and the displays are stunning. We will return again and again, and we look forward to attending more educational programs here! If you get the chance to do something hands on, like dissecting an owl pellet, take it! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
It was really small museum and not many things to see. We were pretty diappointed.
This place is amazing!! We had so much fun looking at all the Skeletons! They seem to have a little bit of everything. Its not a huge place. Its perfect for killing a couple of hours with the family. We only spent about two hours and that was with us looking at everything and going to the gift shop.
Super great and family friendly place to visit!! We were passing through OKC and it was the perfect place to get out and stretch our legs, let the kids roam around, and learn some new things! The staff is super friendly and welcoming, exhibits are very well displayed and kept clean and very presentable. Bring 50 cents and a shiny penny to squish as a fun souvenir!
This was a nice day trip and education for the girls.
Great place to learn about bones. Skeletons in your closet? You can probably hide them here and no one will notice!
This was so cool and fun. The gift shop is the closest thing to an oddity store you will get around here and had lots of reticulated bones and specimens that you can purchase. They had scavenger hunts for kids to do. We probably spent about 2 hours going through it all. Will go back someday!
Awesome place for family my kids loved it and so did I
Must see! We spent 2-3 hours here and viewed pretty much every single exhibit. Really well done, and there is a lot to see and learn here.
Fun excursion. Highly sughested.
Really cool displays. Some of the pieces seem very exotic. Perfect idea for something to do during Covid.
Very cool - great for all ages. Our group of six was aged 6-61 years and we all enjoyed it.
Place was great. Building was smaller than expected but there was a lot of stuff to look at. Staff was great and super friendly.
Very reasonable price and super cool to see!!!
Excellent display of skeletons of all species. Very educational. Great place to take your kids.
Amazing place to visit. Very educational, camera friendly, gift shop like no other and the staff is excellent. Need to see this place
Pretty neat! Lots of bones
This is a great one of a kind museum and my 9 year old son enjoyed it.
On my recent trip to OKC I stopped by several museums (museums are my thing). I made a point to stop by the Museum of Osteology and I’m really glad i did. Pretty much any critter you could imagine was in the collection and they were articulated amazingly. The kids that were visiting had a blast and you could do a scavenger hunt as well. I recommend a trip.
Fantastic experience, so much to look at. We had a lady named ashley who helped us and told us a lot about the history. If you are a history junkie this is the place to be, overall great experience.
I adore this place! I’ve been twice now and am fascinated with their displays. The museum seems deceptively snail, but I actually had a hard time getting through it in one day as each exhibit had so much to look at. They added a new display between my visits that had the skull of the first monkey in space and information on how time in space affects the skeleton. I couldn’t stop taking about it to my friends for about a month.Of particular note, there were a few skeletons on the ground floor of the museum with signs saying you could touch them, which was a very cool experience.I took my boyfriend (who is an armature art student) on my last trip, and he spent most of it sketching the skeletons. He found a lot of inspiration in everything he saw.I highly recommend this place, especially for anyone who likes science shows!
The museum is awesome. So many skulls and information. They have a huge whale skull in the lobby, and an AMAZING gift shop. Sometimss I just go to the gift shop to buy room decorations.
Pretty small facility but packed full of exhibits.
Ive been a couple times and its very interesting. Its just the right size for you to get through the whole museum in a couple of hours, making it perfect for an afternoon when you want to squeeze in a date but dont have all day to spend on it. Some of the animals have stories included about their lives and how they died, which I appreciated. There are some skeletons you can even touch! There are lots of cool things to take pictures of and photo opportunities for interesting selfies. $10/adult seems like a fair price. I would go again!
A very well done museum that provides a great educational experience in biology, zoology and anatomy. Considering how many species of vertebrates there are in the world, i believe the museum could grow to be more than 10 times the size.
Such a great place! My kids just wanted to look at it over and over! Thank you!
I love the Museum of Osteology. For a small building, it is packed full of bones! They even display their bone cleaning process when you walk in. They provide a scavenger hunt for kids and multiple educational experiences. While I have yet to be able to cash in on one, I hope to do one soon. Great for kids, but also adults!
I brought two kids here looking for an easy way to spend part of a day. There was enough here to entertain a 3 year old and a 5 year old for quite a while. They got a scavenger hunt paper to work on, the prize was some candy. I enjoyed it as well. It is a small building, so its not overwhelming. I really enjoyed it.
This place is amazing !! Must see in OKC
Amazing family business! Extremely educational. Great for all ages
Awesome place! Love seeing all the specimens friendly, helpful employees who are obviously excited to be there.
Very cool place to look at bones! They have bones from every type of species on earth...to include human. You can spend as much time in the museum that you want. It is also a self guided tour. Enjoy!!
Fun and interesting place for the family to learn about animals! Through bones!
We really enjoyed this place. Very interesting and educational. They had such a large collection of skeletons, impressive!
Went with my daughter on a school field trip. It was pretty nice place. An my daughter thought it was really cool to see all the different skeleton they have on display.
I had a blast with my husband and our two boys. Definitely worth a visit, and certainly a learning one.
LAME & BORING! ...is what I was thinking when my wife wanted to take a trip with my son and I to the MOO as I affectionately call it.I was blown away. It’s a definite small footprint. However, what it likes in square footage it more than makes up for in content. The museum is expertly curated and attentively run by a small group of engaged staff. The arrangement of the exhibits is thoughtful, artistic, and visually appealing. The content provided within each display is just plain interesting. I found myself actually, like, reading the content. It is SUPER INTERESTING. I honestly didn’t want to leave. If you have kids this museum does a focused job of engaging their young minds. We took our 5 year old and he was excited throughout. They offer age appropriate, self guided, scavenger hunts. We had a blast finding all the different animals. They also sell owl pellets for a very small fee and provide space, on the museum floor, to dissect. The museum has a gift shop with a wide variety of options. Many options sub $10 so your kiddo can take home a little something. We just took home the bones he found in his owl pellet in the provided bag.I can’t believe I’m saying this. I’ll be back to the MOO for sure.
Place was fun had a blast with the kids
I love bones and this place is dope when it comes to looking at bones, skeletons, and other objects related to the field of osteology, but I had one issue with this establishment?Where is Sans Undertale?
This place is Amazing. There is so much to look at. Its a fun educational museum kids will love. Theres even a scavenger hunt form they can fill out to stay engaged.
It was a lot of fun and great gift shop too the employees are nice as well it is small but you can spend a good amout of time in there cant wait to go back
Love the palace....you get to learn how it started...the process and a story from almost every bone collected....i enjoy it as my fiance did.
Such a cool place. I was a bit apprehensive about going but it was delightful.
Very interesting place with a reasonably priced gift shop! Alyssa was very very helpful and sweet.
Great educational opportunity for the entire family!
Such a neat, educational place! Always a fun trip! I really enjoying staying up to date with their social media. They always post really neat things!
Staff is very friendly. Easy parking even for buses etc. My kids loved seeing all the bones!
This was one of the coolest museums I have ever been to!
Awesome educational place to go.
Amazing collection and completely nerdy. I LOVE this museum!
This place is amazing. Im not even big into astrology and I had an absolute blast here. Also the gift shop is fairly price and of course the owl pellets are awesome.
Great place for a quick family trip. My 12yr old & toddler both enjoyed it.
Very good experience. The museum has mostly real skeletons with explanations and plenty of examples! Great gift shop too, able to purchase skulls of many different animals.
What a fun place to visit! If I lived in OKC I would take the grandkids at least once a month. I was fascinated by the display of beetles cleaning a couple of skulls. There are hundreds of bones and skeletons arranged by type as well as area of origin. Most are the real thing, with well-identified reproductions of ancient relics. From bats to hippos to whales and turtles, you can find finely articulated specimens here. There is a senior discount so be sure to ask for it if you are 62+
Friendly, helpful staff. Fair prices. Fun and educational family activity. Just though it would be a bit bigger.
