Climbing wall! This little park has plenty of room to run and play some Frisbee. A large covered pavilion with several picnic tables for your gathering.

Why are the parks closed when those would be the easiest places to social distance? And why is the possession of thoughts so very rare these days?

Grandview ParkAmple, generous park. Big time.!It’s got levels! Literally of gradations of height and figuratively in that it’s got personality...there is much to it.Extreme east is a perennial winner for the seasonal snow-sledding. At quite a slant, the hill there is a considerable lump in the throat for brand-brand-new sledders, especially the young. It’s no black diamond, either, and ends up proving itself accessible and enjoyable to everyone once they’ve taken just one or two rips fish the 50-foot slope. At the foot of the slider, the grass evens out and stretches out westward two football-field lengths into the sunset, comprising a free-for-all field, a nicely equipped playground, an overlong soccer field, with goalposts each end and markings throughout, terminating with yet another playground, with all the stops, on the far west side. An ivy-covered fence separates the former Grandview Elementary School recess grounds from the sleepy Grandview Acres. To the north, stretching just as far from east to west, 8-10 feet lower than the soccer field, sprawls the wide bottom shelf, the largest chunk of the park. Housing rye equivalen of four-to-six half soccer-fields’ worth of land with two soccer fields typically marked out as such, a full baseball field and diamond, with two dugouts and all the standard fencing filling up the westernmost side, and finally, at the eastern end stands a mighty pavilion decked with tables and benches and headed by a great fireplace. A boys’ and a girls’ restroom nestles itself between Bottom Shelf and Middle Shelf, in front of it the smallest playground of the three opens into a circle with sand everywhere one steps.Grandview Park is the place where the biggest game can be played or the quietest, calmest walks can be had at nearly any time of the day. It’s large enough to keep you far away from human contact, but all it’s parts are so visible and open that no one could be out dangerously out of sight, and a sturdy shout out could reach across the entire space.Several major structures, with major uses and histories, have come and gone from Grandview Parks foundations, including a hospital and a school. These enormous enterprises each have been gutted and erased from the great green plateaus, erased and dismissed to other Ogden spaces. But the shelves remain. The shelves themselves...they anchor a suburb, a university campus, and a new hospital just adjacent to it, and they play host to innumerable life events, tests, contests, private, and public moments. They are likely here to stay as long as Ogden is.

The pavilion is nice, and it has a huge grassy field, but the playground is tiny. Its just a little rockwall with a slide which children under 3 or 4 cant utilize. There are no swings or other playground equipment.

I wish I knew who to talk to about this park, we really need more of a playground. We only have a slide that you can only get to by climbing up this rock wall. For younger kids thats near impossible. I think it was just last year they took the playground at the abandoned school out which is what my kids uses to play on ... I have no idea why ? My son was intrested in fundraising for a playground, but again dont know who to talk to about that and why do all that hard work for how easy it is for them to rip it out .... Yeah people come to this park for soccer games and sledding on the hull in the winter, but what about the underprivileged kids whose parents cant afford soccer let alone transportation to get to another park ? The kids need something more!!!
