The place may have been more interesting for older kids, but we went on a rainy Saturday and were completely alone. I really felt that it has a lot of potential, but was missing guidance from staff. Maybe the classes and organized activities they do are nicer, but not worth the price to me.Regardless, they do ask that everyone wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
Went on Saturday afternoon with our 3 and 6 yr old, it was almost empty visitors and staff. Everything was available but we were a bit disappointed by the exhibits. I think this place has a great potential and location, right in front of the park which we liked a lot.
Love this place! Friendly staff and lots of space for kids to run and play
Fun place with lots of cool animals. 8 dollar admission fee so its not too expensive either. They have tons of fun, education activities for children and adults can enjoy it too!
Went with my family for the day to do something fun with my grandson. We all had a lot of fun. Will definitely return if we are in the area!!!
The dino exhibit was a wonderful experience for my 3&5 yr old!! There was a maze, puzzles, costumes! The dino nest was a huge hit for my 3yr old and the imagination playground blocks for a great place to let out some energy!! From the start you are greeted at the front desk by some amazing live reptiles. On this occasion we came they were feeding one of the lizards and the kids went crazy with excitement. Great Fun
It was a good place to spend a little over an hour. Its not huge museum. But they had lots of display cases, lizards, snakes and a handful of hands on stations. They feel more geared to the younger kids. Maybe 10 & under. We got to watch a lizard being fed and learned a lot about invasive species in FL.
My kids had a lot of fun. Would love to bring them again.
Very cool place to take your child with informational exhibits and interactive ones too!
Such a great time for littles to learn and explore.
Very educational and fun for the little ones. I had a wonderful day with my granddaughter!
Awesome for kids of almost any age. Fun and educational.
I cant rate the family workshops at the Discovery Centre highly enough! The activities are always well thought out and delivered by extremely knowledgeable staff, who are happy (and able!) to answer any question thrown at them by the children! The family workshops generally comprise an hour of learning and activities followed by an hour in the stores, exploring the items relating to the workshop topic. The stores are full of over a million items that are not currently on display in Leeds other museums, and I think you could probably explore for a month and still see something different every day! Every single visit is awe-inspiring, and captures the imagination of young and old. Anyone who lives in Leeds and hasnt yet visited should put the Discovery Centre on their must see list. I keep promising myself a midweek lunchtime visit, but without the children!
Classes for children are good and have a wide age group. Wish it were a bit more substantial. Very pleasant staff.
I love the center but downstairs used to be free and now you cant go in the building at all without paying $6 per person
Great place, is inside tuscawilla park, nice park to take the kids to, really like it
Wonderful place to take the whole family as well as learning so much.
My 5 year old grandchild had a wonderful experience.
An absolutely interesting place to visit
Took 18 kids there for a field trip, a really awesome experience for the kids.
My kids (10, 5 &3) really enjoyed this place. There isnt many options for indoor activites so we gave it a shot, there isnt too much to see so I just followed the kids around and let them take as much time as they wanted. Some of the buttons were not functional and some of the pieces to the exhibits were scattered in the wrong places but overall the staff was great with my kids, patient, friendly and knowledge. We spent about 2 hours here, the kids said they would enjoy going again.
I absolutely love this place. My kids and i had a great time. The staff was awesome and super sweet. Malcom gave us a great tour in the planetarium I love the education they provide for the little ones. I recommend it and most def will go again.
Ever changing display of wonder and hands on learning.
Seemed a little disorganized today. However it was free museum day. Although, my eight year old really didn’t seem bothered by it. Lol. Will definitely go again though. I love their cockroaches!
Kids dont get in free even under 3. Not much there, better things at Michaels & Hobby Lobby, plus a visit to lowes garden center is the same experience, yet free.
Arrived at 11am Friday, and was very disappointed to find that there was no statues or displays outside to symbolize the civil war. Upon entering the facilities, I was devastated to hear from an employee that they did not offer a civil war re-enactment show. I purchased an extravagant southern general costume via amazon with overnight shipping for this, and was also informed by staff that they would not be reimbursing me for it either. The only reason I’m leaving a 2nd star is the absolutely decadent snack choices that were offered inlue of my overwhelming disappointment.
Fun place for younger kids, the camps are best for older kids.
Fantastic place and the boys had a great time exploring. Lots of activities for all ages.
Not a huge place but the kids loved it
My kids and I had a great time at this hidden gem in Ocala
Super educational!!! I love it here.
This is a cool little place for kids to go and spend an afternoon. They have a little star show, arts & crafts, large building blocks, Legos, & a little fishing for gems area. The staff was friendly too. They offer different classes during the week & summer camps. They are also located in downtown Ocala across from a cute little park.
Wonderful exhibits that they change up frequently.
I have been here a few time. My son thought it was okay. There wasnt many activities for all age children or adults for that matter. It would be nice to see more hands on activities.
My son and I went for Engineering Day and we had to protect an egg from dropping from an indeterminate height with unspecified materials. But I mean we showed up and what we didnt anticipate was the eggs werent pre-measured, so we lost at 2nd place by 1 gram to some schmuck who didnt even account for velocity but ultimately beat us because their egg was definitely at least 4g smaller giving them a huge advantage and in a discovery center I would just expect more quality control in their experiments. Still 5 stars tho for handling an uncontrollable amount of children in a small space for an extended period of time because OMG....
My kids loved this place
Amazing place to take my kids.
Cool but a work in progress.
Very high prices for an okay exhibit
3 year old and 1 year old had a lot of fun.
I used to volunteer here before the renovations. I still like it but its $6 a person now.
Great and inexpensive place to bring your kids!
Nice place but a little understaffed
Great Birthday Party!
Awesome place for the kids! They have a ton of activities, events and homeschool meet ups here. Highly recommend a membership here.
Great place for families & children
Awesome science class and wonderful staff
The Discovery Center hosted various classes my son attended and he enjoyed the learning experiences.
Great place for the kids!!! Learning and fun all in one!!!
Nice place to take the kids
I did not like at all. Will never take grandchildren again. Also the tour guide was very rude to the children. She should not be with a bus full of kids, clearly she has No patience with kids.
My grand daughter loves it
Cool place.
Great place to take your children to learn
Great place for the kids.
I liked the reptiles
Way overpriced and not interesting.
Kids loved it
