Above And BeyondJust wanted to thank everyone in this theater for saving us big time!We lost our tickets and the man at the ticket dispenser let us in, since we bought our tickets with him and was kind enough to not charge us twice (we were running on few cash since we also left our credit cards in our hotel). During the movie (Thelma and Louise) our phones died and we had no charger, we were the only ones there and while speaking to the attendees Lucille and Chia (I think those were their names Im sorry if theyre wrong) Chia kindly gave us her charger.Crazy roadtrip experience that we will never forget due to the kindness of everyone here.
Love this theater. If your a local, youd know that years ago this use to be a science Center, but prior to that it was the original theater for Ocala. . All movies that are shown in this theater have to be approved by a special council, and although the seating/staff may not be the most comfortable or the best- the feel of this historic theater being used as its original purpose is awesome..
Great show! The Voltron Collective performance of John Mayer is just the kind of culture and art downtown Ocala needs. Thank you for putting this together Marion Theatre/Reilly Arts!
Great asset to Ocala. Friendly staff, nice that I can get wine and popcorn!
Classic movies, exciting events, and drinks delivered straight to your seat...love the historic Marion Theatre!
Great entertainment Glass Onion would see them again
I love coming to this Theater and supporting local. Tickets and concessions are all very reasonably priced compared to the major theaters and they have special deals on Tuesdays. Great selection of movies- both new and older favorites! Grab a drink or dinner downtown and then hit the movies. Highly recommend!
I love supporting this historic theatre! The prices are great and the folks at concessions are always friendly. There isnt a single reason to go anywhere else.
This is my second most favorite movie theater. Is an older theatre and they dont play a lot of movies, but theyre clean and theyre tickets are inexpensive. The food at the concession stand is at a very good price. I got popcorn here for about $3.00 that rocks!
LOVE this theater so comfortable and warming... So much better than the rat race at the other theaters. We dont have to reserve our seats here! Bottled water is not $6!
Great employees and the venue was beautiful
Love this place. The prices on snacks and for tickets are reasonable. Even though its only got 2 theaters its still really nice and clean inside. The employees are also very friendly.
I love the atmosphere. I love that they have reopened. The theater room itself was a little chilly but otherwise an enjoyable experience.
Love the Marion theater. So lovely that the owners keep it open. It is a jewel in this town. Wonderfully nostalgic. Clean and neat. I brought my grandchildren to the summer morning movie which is free popcorn and drink for 2.00!! A great deal and lots of fun!!!
Always the best staff. Prices are great. Always clean & friendly.
A throw back movie theater. Nice place to see a movie with very reasonable prices. Highly recommend to friends and family.
My favorite theater in Ocala. If you want to avoid the crowds and hustle of the the big theaters, the Marion Theater is a great option. Concessions and drinks are priced better than the big theaters too. Upstairs has a smaller screen and you sit closer, downstairs theater I would compare to any others in size.
What a great place. All newly redone. comfy seats. popcorn and drink included. this is a hidden gem. we stumbled across this and I enjoyed the old time family feel. what a great city. would be a great date night location many bar/eateries on each corner. well lit area very safe and so clean. highly recommend.
Was cold during the entire movie. The screen had a scratch on the left side of the screen. The film was too big for your screen, actors heads were cut at the top. Bottom of film was also chopped. The sound for the previews before the movie was super loud,. Not a great experience.
I have been enjoying the Marion Theater for the past four years. This beautiful old theater from the 1940s is truly magnificent! In this age of cookie-cutter movie theaters, the Marion Theater in downtown Ocala is a one of a kind jewel!!!
Loved Marion Theatre! Beer, wine & soda available and the historic building is absolutely awesome!
Love the Tuesday special, saw Star Wars in an almost empty theater and got free popcorn and a drink. Only complaint is they turned the sound up to much
Great theater! First time here, it is a very small and quaint, the theatre is upstairs. Concession stand is small but very doable, popcorn was good. Enjoyed the movie very much but the seating is not very comfortable and hardly any leg room. That is the only reason I didnt give it a 5 star.
Great little theater that plays most first run movies. Nice change from mega theaters with crowds of people.
Cutest theater ever! I love the summer kids series and the historic aspect of the theater. Great price on concessions and tickets!
Well Folks, Mr Travolta, John, bought our little historic theater downtown Ocala and it was a great place for comedy and improv! Now it showcases at least 2 box office hits as it did in the 50s and 60s....... great place to watch movie and enjoy the square in the All American City! Ocala, Fl
Saw the new Star Wars movie. Tickets are inexpensive, free popcorn et a drink on Tuesdays, my favorite theater in Ocala!
Really enjoy this theater. Clean and cozy.
Marion Theater is our favorite & we love the Downtown atmosphere! The staff is hometown nice, not like your typical commercialized theater.
My wife loves the intimate and cozy environment that this theatre provides. We enjoyed the movie the meg, the sound and the picture quality were amazing. The only things we wish were different is the chairs were a little wider even if by a few inches and the aisles were spaced out just a hair. I’m 6’2 and barely had room for my legs. Also another thing, the concession stand guy never smiled once, wasn’t very polite and made sure to go as slow as possible while making our drinks and checking us out. But other than these things it was a great experience.
Very clean but the movie tickets should go back down and kept the same as Belleview prices and not changed after a certain time i mean the point of going there is to watch a cheap movie but other then that its a great way to get unwind while tbe kids are occupied with a movie soo not too bad if you cant get peace and unwind a little bit with the kids
Great time...great movie...brings back memories.
Great place to take your other half on a movie date. The prices at this location is ten times affordable then going to Regal Hollywood. The only reason they get a 3 star is due to their chairs, these chairs need to be upgraded it is hard to sit and watch a movie for 2 hr, when you cant feel comfortable
Love this small theater and its more personal ambience. Also love the prices. They are basically half of the big chains. Great atmosphere, great associates, great place.
Loved it ! Reminded me of the theater from years ago in my hometown of Adena, Ohio. Also enjoyed the movie, Fanatic with John Travolta, second time seeing it.
Sold Tickets B4 telling us we would NOT be seeing the Movie in Main Auditorium. Theres a HUGE difference between the balcony and the main auditorium. Seeing a movie in the balcony is like not being at the Marion Theater at all.For several years I had been wanting to take my son (who is 14) to see a movie in a old movie Theater. He wanted to see Ready Player One so it seemed liked the perfect opportunity to take him to the Marion Theater which advertised it would be showing there. He said he preferred to go to Ocala Centre 6 or Regal Cinemas where they had 3D, but I convinced him to go to the Marion Theater at the 4:30 pm show on April 4, 2018.After I paid for the tickets, the attendant told us to go upstairs to the balcony. I was like... huh?... because that was not what I was expecting. I also bought a drink and popcorn for about $9.When we got to the top of the stairs and went through the curtains we were shocked to see that they divided up the Theater into 2 parts and we would not get to see the movie in a old grand theater like I told my son he would be seeing. I had never seen a movie theater divided up like this and didnt know such things existed. We were the only people there and sat in the back row which was way too close to the screen for our liking. The seats were the most uncomfortable I think Ive ever sat in. The look of the place made you feel like you were in a warehouse and was MOST unpleasant. We debated leaving after we were setting there for a few minutes but decided to stick it out since we already paid... and there was a notice which said no refunds. For most people who choose to go to the Marion Theater, its about the experience of getting to see a movie in an old theater. Theres a HUGE difference between seeing the movie in the balcony and the main auditorium. Seeing a movie in the balcony is like not being at the Marion Theater at all.I feel the staff should told us before we purchased our tickets that the theater had been divided up and the movie would be showing in the balcony. They should have let us see what the balcony was like so we could decided if we want to see it there.I feel terrible about talking my son into going to Marion Theatre and would NEVER go there again to see another movie in the balcony. I think they should get some of their money back by selling the balcony projector and restore the theater back to how it was originally.
Love their summer program they run for children. Great value.
Charming and not crowded. Food is reasonably priced and staff is friendly. My pick over the big movie theater every time.
Its a good movie theatre with cheap prices
Love the prices and comfortable seats!
Today was Our first time at this place. And I love it. Great location downtown. Prices are good. Not allot of people in the audience.
When I attend movies at this location I feel as though Ive changed time zones and Im back in the good ole days. The building is historic and flawlessly clean. Great movies are shown, the prices are good and the snacking is very affordable. I think this would serve as a great first date location:)
Cute theater. Tiny seats.. Felt like a sardine. Reduce the number of seats, make them very comfy and increase the price! Make it a custom-unique experience.. Nice staff.
Place we will definitely be coming back too. Friendly, courteous, low price. Awesome.
Very nice, clean theater. Much better than going to the chain movies.
Nice Theatre. Kind staff and helpful. Very clean and updated with Retro surroundings. Reminds us of old theatre styling which others lack in the area. Nice Job - MR J.T.
Nice, small, cozy cinema. Decent ticket prices. Good stuff at concession booth. Friendly staff. Parking can be a bit difficult, but the city has a free parking garage about a block or two away. I always enjoy going to see films at this cinema. They often host film festivals. Makes a nice date or family outing paired with one of the restaurants on the square, and during the winter the Christmas Lights are a wonderful sight that make the stroll very enjoyable.
This was our first time seeing a show at this theatre. We loved it! We found this little gold nugget on a walk around the Ocala square. It is a charming theatre that has very friendly staff and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the whole building including the bathroom. The prices are extremely reasonable including the refreshment counter. What a pleasant surprise! They even have customer appreciation day on Tuesday with free popcorn. So refreshing to have a privately owned theatre to go to instead of the huge mass chain ones. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. We will become frequent movie goers to this theatre. The only negative that some people may think is that there are only 2 movies playing at a time. Not a negative to me. Quality over quantity is much better in my opinion.
Good atmosphere, great ticket prices. Love the small theater size.
Nicely updated. Just wish there was more parking available.
This is a small, older theater with just two screens, but we like it because the prices are reasonable. The seats are comfortable enough, the people are very nice and you have a small selection of wine and beer along with the standard movie eats.
Have been coming to this theater since the renovation and love it. The employees are great, the prices are great and the whole vintage atmosphere is well done. If there is one complaint is the picture quality on the bottom floor. Most regal theaters have installed 4k projectors and this one cannot come close but hopefully that will change. Other than that a great local theater.
Quaint, and rustic. Really enjoyable environment. There are two theater rooms - one upstairs, one downstairs. Good prices for admission and snacks; alcohol available for purchase. Definitely worth a visit.
Best matinee price, theater was clean and cozy and staff were sweet
Such a beautiful theatre. Space between rows is tighter than most theatres these days, but the experience and convenience of the Marion theatre far out weights that. Plus the popcorn is fresh and the staff very welcoming.
Nice place to eat waiter was awesome and we got everything we need it no complaints
Loved it! Quaint little place where you dont have to fight the crowds. Its cheaper than other theaters in town too. Ive been three times now and each time was pure delight. Ill definitely keep going back. Please stay open.
Love the classic charm.
The theatre is unique and clean. The staff is very attentive. Every time we have visited this establisment the movies have been the latest showings at a very reasonable price. Not to miss that it is close to an assortment of excellent cuisine and just couple of blocks from Starbucks.Thank you!
I LOVE this historic theater. Staff always have a great professional attitude. They clean up immediately but I confess so do I because I respect this film house. My only concern is a health one due to my asthma. Not certain what freshener is used up in BALCONY but twice it immediately affected me. Two hours breathing it in was not good for me. Allergic reaction followed with pain in my shoulders which subsidies after leaving theater and walking home. So another hour to work it off although taste still in my mouth.Thank you.
Great people great location love the customer appreciation days thank you
Its a very charming, inexpensive throwback to classic movie theatres. Friendly staff, good snacks, and awesome deals. Great movie going experience you can only get in a small place like this.
Cool theater reminds me of older theatres from back in the day
Great place very retro what a movie theater should be like and you dont have to take out a mortgage on your home to pay for a movie unlike IMAX
Love downstairs, lots of leg room. Great movie place, clean, friendly staff, helpful!
Such a cute old fashioned cinema.
Great place to go see movies . And the history behind it. Wonderful
Cheap ticket prices and affordable concession stand!
Great prices for tickets and concession smaller in size of large cinemas but you dont have to reserve seats so that is a plus.
Great movie experience. I love the retro feel of the place. Good prices for admission and concession. My family will come here from on now on.
This is an awesome place to spend time with family, not only is there a theater that has old movies but is cheap! $7 per person and some kids go in for free. Depends on the age. Also its very nice to walk around the shopping center, and good food as well...Read li y liked it.
The Marion is absolutely beautiful. From the screenings of classics, to the Ocala Symphony Orchestra events, to local independent movie premieres, and stunning variety shows, this is just, all around, a perfect setting for an unforgettable experience. The lobby is stunning and is full of neon. This theater is a living example of what going to the movies in the golden age of Hollywood mustve been like. So, enjoy a classy experience at the movies, get a glass of wine and settle in at the historic Marion Theater.
Great place! Nice and clean.
Love this place. Great prices. Better than the chain theaters.
Nice little theatre. Much cheaper than big chains. Was very clean and staff was friendly.
The best popcorn in Ocala! Very cool old time theater. Very clean and classy! Great date night venue
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I wish there were more spaces like this still around.Marion Theater is a treasure in Ocala. Both for its aesthetics and for its support of local arts.Marion at Midnight is held at this theater and for that reason alone Ill always support this beautiful theater. For standing up and saying that burlesque belongs, freedom of speech belongs and our art history belongs.
You need to properly fix the dip in the back corner of your parking lot my girlfriend fell when she stepped in the dip and we are now at the emergency room at Munroe Regional Medical Center in West Ocala.
Nice little theater in downtown Ocala. We used to go when we were kids.
Beautiful vintage theater right off the downtown square. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Lovely seating, great staff, well priced concessions and even beer and wine available for adults at night. They run several opening night events during the year. My favorites were the events for Harry Potter and The Great Gatsby. This is definitely a wonderful contribution to the community and an enjoyable place to see a movie! Id choose it over the big theaters any time!
Best lil theater ever! And the popcorn and soda are not priced out in orbit!
This is an awesome throwback on the outside with current movies on the screen inside. Takes me back to when I was young and wed go to the Saturday matinee. I like it much better than the huge Cineplex.
Great theatre.Wonderful customer service and great prices!!!!
Saw the first showing of a locally filmed and produced documentary. Friendly, comfortable and intimate.
Excellent old style 2 screen movie theater.Great price on Tuesdays for movie & popcorn for $7.
Our fav movie house of all time. Always pleasant, always great movies and you can wine and beer at the refreshment stand. Tip, if you like wine the bottle is only 18 dollars and 4 glasses of wine is more then that so just but the bottle. Nice to have a bottle when your chilling watching a movie with friends or family. It is the heart of dowtown with a mole parking and afterwards walking distance to other places dowtown.
The staff is very friendly and the theaters, bathroom etc. are clean.
If you want old school Feel This Is The Place To Go great old movie theater love it
Great place! Smaller than some theaters so there wont be such a crowd. Located in a historical building. Excellent prices.
I love how quaint and friendly this place is.
I so wish this place could make it. Me and my son go as much as possible. Love the nostalgia.
A wonderfully restored movie theater that should have community support. First to offer beer and wine and is easily walkable from many eateries
The theater takes you back in time & the old time look of the theater blends very well with the latest movies with a very good sound system . The tickets are reasonable for the movie experience and the staff are also very cordial. The theater definitely has a repeat value, so catch up with a latest movie.
The seats are way too close to where youre not comfortable after sitting there for more than an hour.
Great customer service nice place love it
Beautiful hometown theatre, great specials for kids
Great little theater. Good prices and friendly staff. Not too crowded .
