Adjacent parking is only disabled parking but nice walk to the tower from the regular parking lot. Chappell was my husband and partner in life so this is a special place for me.

A beautiful place to explore, think, and relax. A true getaway close to home.

On a clear day you get a sweeping view of the bay. Also you can get pretty up close and personal with the iconic dock cranes (the rumored inspiration for Lucasfilm AT-AT Walkers). The geese keep to themselves and are better at keeping their poop off the walkways than they are at Lake Merrit.

This park has a lot of history. Ok for a short walk or a BBQ. Dont expect green grass to run around on. Great place to watch ships go by.

A hidden gem of Oakland not much parking close to so you may have park farther away and walk. There is looking glasses up top of the tower to see out in the bay over to San Francisco great place for kids. And theres is a lil strip of land that stretchs out about a quarter mile and has a few loop trails.

HIDDEN GEM!!! Great for picnics, trails, relaxing. I dont know why this place isnt packed!!!

My favorite place to be especially sunrise or sunset

Surprisingly good signage! My family loves to learn about the wildlife. And we can watch all the big ships unloading onto the big rigs! A kids dream!

Peaceful spot amid the busy Port of Oakland to view San Francisco (morning sun is best) and get a sense of what the bay was like when it was lined with tidelands. This is the old Western Pacific Railway mole, where you could alight from your train and catch a ferry to The City.

Be aware of your surroundings as it is pretty remote. Otherwise, a good place to walk around and enjoy the scenery.
