Like most of Camron-Stanford House is pretty small and is a tourist trap galore...but it was still so fun! Trying to figure out all of the fun pictures to take with friends is the best part of visiting here. Make sure to come at night!
Really cool restored Victorian house with an interesting history. Tours are $5 but only open at specific times on the weekends. Check before going. They have changing exhibits. Well worth a visit!
Beautiful house in a lovely natural setting. Historic museum on Sundays. Event venue during summer months. A few attorney offices as well. Wonderful lakeside gem!
Would be good if they were open when they said they would be. Very disappointed
The grounds and views are great, would have given 5 star but BEWARE parking is horrible. There is a few spots but you need to get there super early. Staff was GREAT!
Perfect place for a wedding. Beautiful locale. Lovely venue. Helpful staff. Affordable rates. All make this very high on the planes to beer in O.akland.
Went for a Tea. They ran out of tea right away, not even filling pots. They did not make any food on site.House is a historical museum, but furnishings are not original to the house; they are donations from that period.
One of the best little museums Ive been too! Knowledgeable docents and great rotating exhibits
Awesome event space. Great setting for an outdoors event.
I visited the Camron-Stanford House in October 2015. There was an exhibition on death in Victorian times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that as a visitor to the area, I was more interested in the history of the house and its inhabitants. I can understand that these special exhibitions are a way of drawing in local residents, but as a tourist, I was disappointed that there was not more about the house and the family. The staff were very knowledgeable, and happy to provide the extra information when I asked.
All these years I jog, run, bike, walk, and drive by never hear this place was haunted. After museum curator did a walk through on television, Im convinced now. Make long story short. A lady had a baby in the 1880s a baby die. Back then there wasnt much babies dying, it was a rear occasion. With no where to have a formal funeral baby was mark for burial in the victorian house. Shivers now. Glad to be living in a city with historic a past.
Very cool unique
Very good lawyer upstairs. The place is gorgeous.
Wish we could have made the tour. Next time!
Was in a wedding here. The museum wing is very well kept and the docents very knowledgeable. It is easy to get to, well priced and right next to the new Lake Challet for after event drinks.
Wish it were open more often for tours...
