The most perfect eight miles run in the park, down to the ocean beach and back passing by the Young Museum!!. beautiful place, glad to have it in the city!!
Always a good place to recharge with gorgeous views of Long Island Sound.
Great little town beach. Parking and lunge chairs.
Bayley Beach is located in Rowayton and is a part of Norwalk 6th taxing district. The speech is smaller than the other Norwalk beaches and is open to residence of Rowayton who have their Beach stickers. Non-residents can enjoy the beach for a fee of $25 at the gate. The pavilion is a wonderful place for parties and can be rented for various activities. The beach closes at 9 p.m. during the summer hours and no dogs are allowed on the beach property during the summer months. It is kept very clean and is extremely welcoming, there is even a small area located under the pavilion stocked with books if you would like to do some light reading in one of their many lounge chairs. You are allowed to cook at this beach but only in a designated area on beach supplied outdoor grills which utilizes charcoal. there is plenty of parking considering the size of the beach, tennis courts, a baseball field, and on some nights there is even live music.
Had a great time watching my grandson practice baseball
Super rocky. They need to rake the beach and clean the docks.
Small, clean, out of the way beach in Rowayton
Fun beach!
OK. A lot is about why you are coming here. I personally come here when I dont have to much time. If I do I would drive like 20 minutes to much nicer beaches.
Very rocky beach. Saw great fireworks. Limited parking had to walk half a mile.
I found the Baseball field to be very muddy, dirty, grass cuttings all over and trash. Loaded with mosquitoes and garbage pails full of garbage. There is no way fans and onlookers could get to or around dug outs. Very muddy. Not a good place for kids to play ball. My grand kids were bitten up by all the mosquitoes. Ball field not stripped. No American Flag. Poor Maintenance.
Fun place! We were there for the 4th of July. Crowded, but a real upbeat atmosphere. Lots of room to picnic, grill, or just hang out. The pavillion is clean and spacious. Basketball court, tetherball, can-jam, and corn hole kept our kids busy all day. The floating docks were a first at the beach for us as well. Warning: bring your water shoes as the beach is very rocky and full of shells. Found lots of sea glass!
Beautiful beach and great concerts on Sundays in summer, but charge for non-residents in the summer.
Peaceful and fun filled day with the family.
Very nice small beach. It could be busy during the summer.
Need to get the shells off the beach and put some good sand on the beach
I wanted to get there to get water at the water fountain. Had ridden 25 miles and since it was a hot day, I Was out of water. The guy at the gate said that no I could not go in to get water. I explained I was just going to get water because my bottles were empty. He still refused. Aghast, I clarified, you are refusing me water?! He calmly responded, yeah. Then, I asked if he would at least get it for me, he said no.Its nice to see that human kindness is alive and well.Edit to answer to owner’s reply: I was in a bicycle, slightly dehydrated. I had to ride several more miles to get water. Water is the one thing you should never deny anyone, especially when it was that hot out.
Nice beach close and easy parking. But best of all the free concert on Sunday during the summer
The beach my family has grown up on for centuries. My Uncle Art Ladrigan has the Labor Day Lighthouse Swim dedicated to him. He spent almost his entire life looking over all us kids swimming as we grew up. He saved many little lives that the tide had pulled them underneath the waters of Long Island Sound. He was a quiet man yet he knew all our names. All the families respected his beach rules and judgements, if you didnt he would have you sit on the bench for awhile. I was proud of the fact he was my Uncle Art. I thank the district of Rowayton that place this honor upon him. I moved from Rowayton to many years ago, yet my heart and soul are still there. Bayley Beach and all of Rowayton was our familys hometown for generations. I miss my old home from when I was a kid. Rowayton kids of the 50 and 60s that was me.
Shells and rude beach guy riding his ATV. Still, can be a nice place for a sunset or fireworks on the 4th.
Bayley Beach is a small community beach. Its free now during the off season. Kids were playing in the playground and the parents were playing street hockey on the basketball court. The beach is just ok. Its nice place to walk in the off season.
Pretty nice beach
Small park, lots of amenities. Great view. Nice place to walk a dog.
Beautiful little park overlooking Sheffield light and Greens Ledge light.
They wont let you into the park even though you pay property taxes in Norwalk. But should they call the police Norwalk police shows up. What the hell is that?
For the last 6 months I have been spending weekends in Rowayton and went as a guest to this beach a couple times for 4th of July Fireworks and some other events they had. Its a nice little beach and is great for the residents there. Watch the tide charts though and when the tide is out dont bother going if you want to get in the water. 7 tides and it turns into a mudpit like other bay beaches. It is Rocky but again most of the Bay beaches are.If you are not a resident in this area and you want to go to a beach drive 30 minutes North to Silver Sands State Park. Parking is Free and it is free to get in and they have an awesome boardwalk and Island you can walk to at low tide. Again when tide is out it is muddy but the walk to the island is awesome.
I grew up there and always loved it!
Still best beachvin norwalk
Exelent place to spend the day. Good hot dogs and cheeseburgers at the beach bar for the kids.
Magical and beautiful
Not a member/tax payer for the town of norwalk (a city of norwalk beach facility), but it is next door to another club i have got to for awhile, so the gates are open off season - nice picnic spot, has chairs and a group meeting/party area - beach is clean, has regular east coast detritus though - there are also some tennis courts and maybe some paddle ball courts too
Nice to view the 4th of July fireworks. But way too Rocky!
Perfect private beach for small local community
