Nice place with animals in cages to look at. All animals are disabled or rescued that wouldnt otherwise survive in the wild. Nice walking trails. Spaces for little kids outside in the garden as well as a play area inside. The museum style interior has fish, turtles and some birds and snakes on small scale displays. Very cool place that we happened upon.

Its a nice place. But can you say Mosquitoes? Jeez theres a ton of them. Ive been hiking all year at different places across IL this has to be the upmost infested woods Ive been in. Im leaving early as I want to have some blood left for the car ride home....

Nice place to start a bike ride. Scary at night. Dont back your car into a parking spot unless you know what you are doing.

This park only has one way to enter and leave . It leads to an open field and outdoor sitting area . Theres a trail you can follow on foot or bike, to other sections of this massive park . Theres quite a bit of mosquitoes, so I recommend repellent. Overall it is quiet and well maintained.

Pavilion with picknic tables and a big grassy field with one shade tree. Unpaved walking trails through the woods near a swamp like area. The trails go to the adjacent parking area (closes at 5pm). The neighboring park has a nature center for children including honey bees, a caged cyote, an owl and hawks. Nice quiet and well kept place, good trail to jog or walk. Fairly simple area for a nature preserve, though the swamp is interesting.

Used it for cross country skiing but they will give you snow shoes for free
