Had a birthday party here. Gave the kids something to do, so that was nice. Was a bit dirty in the shelter we were in on the Southeast side. Little bit limited because we needed electricity and thats only available in the two shelter houses on the east side. All in all a good enough place...

It was great. Nice playgrounds for our little one. Nice football field for our boy.

Will maintained, lots of trees and benches. Kids love the play grounds.

Very nice park. Loved that we had trash cans by our tables. It was clean.

You can shoot hoops you can play baseball or softball the softball field has artificial turf just a great place to gather or spend quality time bathrooms are cleaned daily

A quaint old stadium in a quaint park.

The Halloween event was terrible. Took 1.5 hours just to get to the entrance. People were stopping to chit chat in the park, so it was a trainwreck.Shouldve handed out masks and went thru with the main street event.If i can go into Dillons/Wal-Mart on a crowded day whats the difference?

Childhood memories all around here. Most of the equipment I played on is now replaced with new safety equipment. The city pool is located nearby. Sand Creek is also close with a beautiful walking path.

I call it the FISH PARK its problem gonna be fun for your kids ;)

Car Show picked an excellent venue!

Attended blues, brews, bbq event. Space is clean and easily accessible. Facilities seem well maintained. The little bandshell area worked good for the bands.

Nice old park been around forever

We watched the ballet of The Wizard or Oz at the band shell. What a wonderful experience! I think that more things like this should take place

Clean restrooms. Historical monuments detailing the path of immigrants & their contributions of settlement introducing the production of turkey red winter wheat from the area to the world. Located on Sand Creek trail. Also offered for large gatherings is an indoor community building with kitchen facitilities for rental. Easy access from 1st street and 5th street entrances.

Much nicer for pokemon go than for events really.

Crossed a kid and broke his ankle on the basketball court. If you see his ankles let me know because he couldnt find them after.

You can find solace here, just have to hunt a bit. Also, the pool is like from my youth (which isnt a bad thing, I drop my kids off here)

Very nice park!!! Not to busy and big enough to share. I just wish I could go there and not have to run home for a kid to use the bathroom. It seems to always be locked.

Often has things going on there like concerts, tournaments. But competing with centennial as Newtons largest park, there are paths and many places for kids and others to play.

One of the best parks in town.It is quite large with lots of variety!There are different play sets for varying age groups and different sections of the park for horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, tennis, etc.There are also several different picnic areas and plenty of trees for shade.It is right next to the river for feeding ducks or walking on the bike path.

The biggest park in Newton. Football Stadium and baseball diamonds. Soccer also played here .It is the HOME FIELD FOR NEWTON HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC EVENTS. There are several concession stands available when events are taking place. The Park has several designated play areas in two separate locations and even another smaller area for little kids. They all are well furnished with safe, up to date play equipment. An Olympic sized pool with a concession stand and kiddy pool is also located in the park. Tennis Courts and new great Sand Volleyball Courts have been added this year. Many protected picnic tables and A couple of Shelter Houses complete the parks ameneties. Whoops.. i missed the fantastic paved walking/jogging path that run on both sides of Sand Creek/Little Arkansas River. And The Horse Shoe pits which number approximately 10 or 12, with lighting for night play. This park is fun with alot to do. People who are traveling cross country on their BIKES frequently make this park a camp spot for the night and even a few days, if their Bikes are needing repair.. Since Newton has one of the Very Best Bike Shops in this region,and its only about 6 to 8 blocks away in the downtown area.
