Friendly staff, some great exhibits and great price.
Excellent homeschool field trip after learning about Slavery and the Civil War. Its not large, but the perfect size for an afternoon. Beautifully put-together with a good mix of reading and hands-on exhibits, plus a toy room with multiple examples of old-fashioned things to play with! Highly recommend.
This is a nice and cozy museum right on Washington Street in Newton. It pays tribute to the underground railroad. And talks about local history, African American history and Native American history. You can go through the entire museum in less than an hour and gain so much knowledge. This is a perfect place if your not a big fan of the bigger more crowded museums in Boston. If you live in Newton or the surrounding cities, this is the best place to learn about your citys history.
Really nice staff and we had fun experience with the entire family but really small.
Really nice staff very creative activities, but really small.
Lovely little museum. My grandson (9) was fascinated.
As a Jackson, I remember celebrating a family reunion at the homestead when I was about 16 years old. The mayor of Newton came to cut the cake, and the family photo still hangs in my dads family room. Im planning to visit the museum again soon. I remember it being really fantastic, and I loved seeing the well that was involved in the underground railroad. I highly recommend a visit to this very interesting place.
Great house museum in Newton. check out their fun family events.
Beautiful historic site. Rich with information.
A fantastic collection of history with fascinating exhibits in a house over 200 years old. Pretty inconspicuous on Washington Street, this place will intrigue American history fans. Would visit again.
We had a fun and educational experience with the entire family.
