Beautiful campground with friendly hosts and staff. Rentals were stress free and clean! Donna, one of the groundskeepers was very welcoming and helpful with questions. Sites are pretty open and privacy was minimal but everyone was respectful! No issues with water, electric or trash during our 3 night stay. We stayed in the PRIME spots and the lake side view of the sunset was unbeatable!! Be aware of the high winds by the Prime sports though.Covid precautions were taken throughout the stay and very clean bathrooms!
This is a municipally owned campground and beach/public park. Facilities are older but well maintained and clean. They have WiFi in the park and with good range although I didn’t try streaming or check the speed. There is a spot to launch kayaks or similar and they rent them too. The only thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars is the lack of privacy. Many of the sites are close together and there isn’t any landscaping between them. Being a public park and beach there is some traffic through the campground during the day. We were there in the fall so it wasn’t bad, if you stay in peak summer months I’d expect it to be busy during the day. The location is the star here. With lake and mountains to the west sunsets can be spectacular. There is plenty of access to the lake shore to view wildlife and I found some trails through the woods adjacent to the park good for dog walking. The Bebe spur “rail” trail runs right by the entrance to the park. Downtown Newport is a short bike ride from campground and the well maintained gravel trail extends about 5 miles north to the Canadian border. Most of the trail is right along the lake with some excellent views. Camp hosts and day staff were very friendly and helpful checking us in and delivering wood etc. We would stay here again.
Ill be honest, I have a long tie to Prouty Beach. Growing up my grandparents would frequently camp here and they are now seasonals. I spent a lot of time there. The first and foremost complain I have is the noise. I understand that they are trying to update the area but do it when camping is not in season. There are dump trucks that constantly run by my grandmothers campsite. With all this traffic of dump trucks it makes it hard to truly enjoy the camping experience. They are unable to eat outside at the picnic table because of how much dust is created. This year is the worst year to be a camper at this location. No I am not a regular camper at this facility but I do spent a lot of time there and I see the struggles that these campers are dealing with. I really hope next year is different. As for this year I really dont reccomend visiting.
Awesome place. We love the view. We will be back.
Good people clean restrooms beautiful view of the lake Memphis Magog and plenty of things to do
Loved it! Too be so close to downtown Newport and to be so quiet!
We love staying there..very quiet and clean. Close to Newport VT.
The grounds are clean and the playground decent but the beach is gross. Silty, squishy sand, goose poop, weeds and always GLASS GLASS GLASS. There is little to no authoritative presence and unfortunately people just do whatever they want.
It was very clean and everyone was so friendly the kids had a blast
Had a relaxing time looking over the lake. But tried to book for 4th July weekend and already full. Bummer. We will be back
Great swimming and a amazing place for kids and elderly and animals..
Prouty Beach hasnt changed much since I was a kid. They added more camping spots; there is a new bike trail going through, the bathrooms are the same.
This campground has a beautiful view of Newport and Lake Memphremagog. Full hookups and great staff. The sites are closer together than state or national parks but that gives one the feeling of community. Lots to do and located with easy access to much more!
This campground provides hook-ups for campers and RVs primarily and some tenting spots. A large beach with swimming area is included. Also available are tennis courts, a playground, a disc golf course. Passing through the grounds is a bike and walking path that follows the lake shore for much of its length. Within walking distance to restaurants and shopping downtown. The setting on the edge of a large lake provides scenic vistas.
A nice clean well located campground. I totally recommend it.
It was early in the season when we went and we enjoyed a nice corner down by the water practically to ourselves. Looked like they also had spots for camper trailers to park. Very nice view over the lake and there was a place for boat rentals.
Great place to set up, site are pretty level. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beach right there and close to stores and restaurants.
Clean, love the parking . Good to get cooled off then leave. The grass area was good for my grand children
A pleasant surprise small campground on the lake. Most sites are green grass, rent a kayak, sailboat or walk or bicycle to town on a bike/walk path.!
Nice view. Access to lake & wonderful tennis court
This place is awesome! Clean, bathrooms, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, a huge swing set, and slide for the little ones. Baseball, and disk golf. These are all here. Beach is clean and taken care of. Great place!
We found Prouty Beach Campground a very nice place to be. Quite, clean a lot of very nice people and dogs we met. The grounds are beautiful and seanic. Great playground for children. Nice family atmosphere.Office employees were very informative and polite. We are looking forward to another stay next year.
Great time Camping for Softball.
Its ok for laying out in the sun..last year I got a leach on me.
Its a nice campground but the water isnt very clean. there isnt anything the camp can do about that, though.
Nice community camp ground located at city public beach, staff helpful and courteous
Today we worked on Hammer the Nail game and coding the game through code sheets. I made a funny error with mine XD.
Nice playground, dirty water
Nice
Great place to camp. On the lake. Small boats available. Nice beach . Lots of play areas for kids. Tennis, basketball, playground, showers etc.
Nice, quiet and great people
Camp there every summer for the past 4 years
Its not a bad place but they need to clean up more
Great place for families!
Awsome time there
Nature, hiking, biking, water sports, we have it all. Come hither.
A wonderful little campground. All full hookups. Quiet. Right on the lake.
Beautiful views, very nice and friendly staff and every camper is very friendly.
Not the nicest beach, but the view of the city is beautiful!
Peaceful, wonderful views
Great beach, able to walk out a while in the water, mostly sandy but a little rocky
Great camping
I wouldnt go swimming there
Its one thing to have a full camp ground, but to be camping across the path from manager and not have him deal with the 11 pm Whiffle ball tournement was a little much. Next time I will make sure it is deserted. Otherwise, beautiful view and great bike path.
We have camped here for several years and will continue to come here.. It is a beautiful place to camp with a great view of the lake from the Bluff.. There are several good restaurants in the area.. The only thing lacking is Wi-Fi service...
Beyond beautiful and amazingly friendly. Everyone should visit at least once. :)
Great city owned campground with sewer water & electricity. They dont have cable & due to the mountains television is hard to get. Closest tv station is Burlington vt 75 miles away & satilite works at some of the camping spots. If you scan your tv most the channels are north of the border (french stations). But otherwise nice little campground next to lake memphremagog.
Really good
Nice recreational area!
Great sporting activities
Always a great place for a picnic.
