Another lovely park in the heart of Downtown Newark I enjoy going to. Precovid the summer months there is an abundance of activities and festivals here. And the carousel is a fun ride for all ages.

This is a small but nice park in the middle of Newark Downtown. The centerpiece is a incredible sculpture with a dozens of characters in it called the Wars of America sculpted by Gutzon Borglum. The same man who sculpted Mount Rushmore. It is a sculpture of American citizens answering the call 2 fight for their country at a crisis. There is also a bust of John F Kennedy here.

Great local park, with circular pathway and parking lot underneath, very convenient.First time there for Newarks vegfest and you me trapeze yoga, flipping people in the park.The energy was amazing, park was very clean and amble space for 20+ vendors

The day before a major holiday weekend and the park was clean and quiet.No masks/gloves scattered around the park, and people seemed to just be enjoying the afternoon in the sun.

LOVE THE LOCATION!!!!! This park is beautiful i took my child there to play but was upset to find used syringes in the grass .

Really nice park but certain areas have a strong odor of urine which of course is very unpleasant smell on any given day. It has an awesome merry go round and a beautiful statue. The park needs a little TLC to bring it back to grandeur.

Military Park is located on Broad Street in Newark it’s located smack dab in the middle of downtown Newark the park has a carousel with little animals on it also it’s a perfect place just to relax in a very nice neighborhood They also have a wide variety of flowerbeds which is extremely nice to

A peaceful place and a Whole Foods store across the street. Also there is a nice bicycle repair shop nearby.

Terrible food that doesnt even deserve a star I know its late but the quality of the food for me is the most important part of a good business

Chill park. Whenever I walk past it, theres rarely anyone there. I wonder why.Theres two individuals commemorated here: Samuel Brummer, WW2 veteran, and Jorge Oliveira, Afganistan veteran. Brummer is of polish descent and Oliveira of Portuguese descent.

Good place for book reading, with many restaurants nearby.

This is a great little park near the performing arts theater and area hotels. The monument in the center of the park is impressive. There is something here for everyone! Also, a burger joint in the park.

Neat park in the center of Newark City that used to be a military training ground, hence its name. It has a few notable landmarks, such as a sculpture of JFK and an Episcopal church that is more than 200 years old.

Well maintained park in the heart of Newark City. Close to the New Jersey Performance Art Centre (NJPAC), Starbucks and Whole Foods.You can play games, read books - small book shelves* and hangout.

Beautiful park in the summer. Great music festivals, flea markets, and live music from local and up and coming artists as well. Various sporting events take place here as well.

This is a beautiful little park set right in the middle of downtown Newark. There is a very good restaurant, Burg here with outdoor seating. Alas, it is only open on weekdays. The park itself has many nice seating areas in beautifully landscaped gardens. They have a small carousel, charging stations, and a lot of special programing such as outdoor films and yoga, free concerts, etc.

Military Park was a short walk from our hotel (TRYP Hotel). It was a cute but well maintained park with some interesting statues and things to look at. From a bust of JFK, a military statue led by George Washington to a cute little carousel, we enjoyed a short walk before making our way back to our hotel. At 8:00 there were a member of people in the park and we felt very safe.

Pretty park that brings much needed green space to the city. I’ve seen live music on occasion. I look forward to hopefully having a restaurant open up in the park!

Great park, thats very close to places like Whole Foods and Sweetwater cafe, in case you need a drink or anything like that. The bathrooms are rarely open though.

I sit in this park almost every day for lunch. Such a great relaxing time. So different from how this park was in the 90s I actually love spending time here now and walking around it after filling my stomach.

Its a beautiful well kept park. I do my dog walking there and can even let one of my fur Clients off leash for his morning walks, which he loves so much

My job is up the street Subway is on the corner and bus on every stop very convenient place to work many food place and choices to eat from. NJ pac, Prudential center all in the same area. Come to Newark for all types of fun and great eats!

Nice park to go sit and enjoy your lunch if you work in the area. There’s activities here and there. Weekend are pretty calm.

Nice place to come and relax in the summer always having events on Thursdays like afro concerts or etc. Usually on the week its nice and quiet also pretty clean. they keep the area pretty clean I bring my dog and grandmother here all the time so she can get out the house.

Great place to visit. I love that you have many different things to do especially for the children. The only thing they need to work on is keeping the bathroom clean when they have events or extra portable bathrooms.

Great day on military park

Small and fine place among the business skyscapers in Newark. It looks pleasant when you take a short break during the workday and come there to chill out. Employees of park is really friendly and funny. You cand find a book corner and get a book/fresh newspaper to read. The hustle and bustle of Newark can be seen from the newly renovated park. Great views of the Down Town Business District.

This parking garage its usually pretty good. It solves my parking issue when I have to work in Newark. Last time I was there, it was not that good for me though. I couldnt park because there was so.e event at the Prudential Center and apparently they were using it for that purpose. So keep this in mind, when you need to use this parking garage. BTW prices are not bad

Went to an African Festival at this park. Parking was really easy because under the park is a parking deck. It was too expensive for the parking.The park was full of venders and activities. A stage was up also for the event where bands played and announcements were made.I am not sure how the park is when there is no events taking place but, it was a nice place within a busy city.

Very Nice... When one see this park; it feels like having a picknick. Not sure if you will be able to have one, do.

Very convenient and beautiful to sit and relax during great weather conditions. Its busy during lunch hours due to many businesses in the area. Alot of people like to sit down and eat and enjoy the view. In the Summer, they have a poetry hour thats very interesting.

The VegFest was awesome. Sooooo many awesome vendors and phenomenal food. The cookies from Plant Base Market were out of this world. We will definitely be going to Jersey City to check them out.

I was born, raised and educated in Newark. Returned to live in Downtown Newark 12 years ago, as it was gearing up to newbies who now call it home. Military Park has had a facelift and its beautiful. It even has a Carosel for children to enjoy.

Its got shade all around. Tables & chairs 2 relax.. Kiosks 2 charge ur cells & find great info 2 housing, healthcare..grants too

An American public space with historical heft.

As a six year resident of Newark NJ who leaves near Military park and a community activist against social injustice I love the positive changes and transformation of the park entertainment it provides from Rutgers NJPAC Prodential and and city hall which is giving the park downtown and the city a new face

Military Park is a really nice park with a small partially open grass area, tables and chairs you can sit at under the big trees and every so often- more often in the warmer months- they hold events like Farmers markets and other things.

The out door concert was so refreshing and meeting new people was a pleasure.

The history of this place goes back to 1600 even before the town was really organized they had to fight Indians and they have to have a muster point so from that point in time and every war since then they mustered at military Park. Qboris

Good for a lunch time walk

In passing I enjoyed the beauty.

Almost always scattered with people from all walks of life. And in the summer there are events, and dance parties regularly. There are places to sit but not that many, a grassy area, Statues honoring those who have served and there are plenty of places right across the street to grab something to drink to bring it back and relax.

Nicely renovated park is one of newest jewels of newark. At the pet friendly park there are plenty of seats to just lounge around in. Nearby there are plenty of bars and restaurants for a quick bite to eat.

Right in the heart of downtown Newark N.J. As a kid we would play there while our mother shopped The new face lift is very nice. Shows,, Summer programs for kids an fun for all.

This place has come a long way, currently modeled after NYCs Bryant Park, with many free classes and events, chairs, library, restrooms, carousel (event though music was not working 9/18). Easier to come with out a car and not have to deal with parking.

Prudential and the city of Newark has done a superb job in ensuring that families can enjoy the space.

Went to the House Music Festival. Was a nice crowd. Parking wasnt too bad. The carousel was filles with kids and the line to the ladies room was incredibly long. But overall, it was a lovely day to enjoy the music, dancing and people watching.

I do line dancin here every monday from 5 45 to 6 45. A free class. :) step 4 step soul line dancers. J boogie is our teacherPerfect for beginners :)
