This is an intimate locally-owned owned theater. They show mostly older and classic movies from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Its a a great place to take the family for a laid-back movie experience. The theaters are large with wide aisles and have the reclining powered stadium-type seats that are highly relaxing.

Movie theatre was clean and well kept. Prices are reasonable and I love the reserved seating. A note to mention, this theatre is located in the heart of Newark, College town, so its a younger crowd. So your experience, the audience may be a bit more vocal. So if your looking for a quiet theatre, this is most likely not what you want

Awesome brand new theater, clean, reclining seats that are very comfortable and great local option in the heart of Newark. Massive upgrade from its predecessor in the same location.

Liked it much better as Cinema Center, when it still had that old theater feel. But honestly cant rate it badly when Ive had consistently good service and accommodation. This is a fully modernized theater with recliner seats and a small selection of food.

Great local movie theater. Friendly staff, great selection of food and drinks and always clean. Bonus there is even a bar where you can get a drink for the movie.

Great theater with comfortable and spacious seating. I love going to the movies on Tuesday evenings when the ticket prices are reduced. It is very easy to make a seating reservation and I often walk in and get my tickets in advance to ensure good seating.

I want to love it here, but I just cant and this is why. The bag check.So, they offer dollar movies during the summer for the kids. The movies are pretty good and the seats are the large reclining seats. If you picked in advance the tickets are $2 due to the fees, but thats still pretty great.However, when you go to get your tickets checked or enter the theater, they thoroughly check whatever bags you have with you. (I say this knowing that my bag was checked three weeks in a row, while most of my friends were not.) I understand their policy, and I get the need to not have people bringing in tons of stuff, however, this is the main reason I dont like this policy: there are no healthy snacks and they do not offer a water option for the kids. If you purchase their kids snack it only comes with soda or sugary juice. Therefore, you then have to purchase an overpriced bottle of water. If you arent going to have anything remotely healthy available for kids, a parent should be able to bring in something for their child to eat or drink.

We love Main Street Movies! Small intimate theater thats family friendly, comfy reserved seating, affordable concessions, and they serve beer and wine! Our family comes here at least every other month for a movie night. Tuesdays has all day cheap tickets!

This review is for the prepared food only. I love the theatre. But I suggest staying away from the food. This past Saturday I went to a dinnertime showing ofc1917. I hadnt eaten so I figured, Support a local business, get dinner at the theater. I got the chicken strips and a basket of fries. They looked nice and were underneath the heat lamps. Chicken was room temp and the fries were cold. Unfortunately, I noticed this in my seat as the movie began. So I ate them, chalking it up to I shouldve checked sooner. Well, I have had a sore stomach and lower GI discomfort since that night. Still uncomfortable Monday morning. Not food poisoning, just bad food with awful after effects. My recommendation: eat before you go. Do not eat any food at the theater.

Had a wonderful experience. First time in a theater in 4 years. Amazing sound system, nice reclining seats. Will definitely go again soon.

Nice place with big theatres, but the seating isnt setup as well as other places. Our son had difficulty seeing over the seats in front because the seats arent staggered enough vertically. Also no armrest tables to put popcorn, etc. on. Probably wont go back

So its been awhile since i went to the movies 20 plus yrs. It was an awesome experience. You pick your own seats, they serve alcohol; get out. That is wild right there . you can fix up your own popcorn and stuff. How things have changed.

Great local cinema. Seating is in recliners and its assigned. Layout is a little strange with one theatre separate, at the front. Tickets seem to be machine purchase only, but you might be able to buy at the snack area. They do also offer beer.

After the renovation of the whole theater this place went from a zero to a hero. Really comfy chairs and now you can get a beer and watch your movie at the same time! The food here is pretty good too and its not that expensive like the IMAX at Christina. If you live in the newark area this is a very good choice of theater!

The theater was completely redone from the old Newark Cinema center. The seats recline and are very comfortable. You can buy drinks but youre limited to two beverages per person and beer and wine is all they had which is okay. Sound system was good picture quality excellent and we enjoyed the movie.

Never a lot of good movies showing. The manager needs an attitude adjustment. The condition of the theatre is nice and up to date with good snack and drink kiosks.

The staff is very friendly and you get the feeling they love working there and care.They have Tuesday movie ticket specials at $6.00. It may be a dollar more than other theatres but is worth it for a cozier feel and the concession stand options and pricing.

Fantastic theater. It was revamped top to bottom a few years ago, and is now what I would consider a high end movie experience.Seats are reclining, wide and comfortable, and have a pull out tray table for food.Screens are perfect and audio is always spot on. Love brining my wife here on date nights.

I have seen about 5 movies here. Its a nice cozy Theatre. Its clean and the staff is friendly. Seats recline and you pick reserved seating which is nice. Just a note: remember its in a college town, so the majority of patrons will be younger and possibly a bit more *ahem* vocal during the show.

Loved everything about this movie theater up into i went to go in the move theater and noticed there were no emergency exit in the theater in this world we live in today i was. Uncomfortable the entire movie i will not be going back if there is no emergency exit this is no were i want to be

This is a predominantly a self serve movie theatre, which can be a good and an unfortunate thing. They renovated some time ago. There are does not appear to be an reclining seats, but rather the traditional movie theater seating. This theater is frequented by locals and University students. There is ample parking. Additionally, there are two-three ways to exit the overall shopping plaza in Case of rush hour or Saturday afternoon traffic.

I was just there this past weekend and I loved it. The prices for food and drinks are so cheap!! I dont go out to the movies much but when I do, I am coming here.

I was very disappointed with the manager of the movie theater today. After he forcefully screamed at me to “read the sign” he disrespectfully asked to search my purse. As I was on a date and I found this incredibly embarrassing. I will not be returning, and I hope that something is done about the attitude of the manager on duty at 1pm on June 3rd.

I enjoy going here on Tuesdays, cuz its half off movies. Its all reclined seating, but I honestly dont feel like they clean the seats often or very well. The cup holders always seem to have liquid in them, but the floors arent sticky, so idk. I do see and Im not exaggerating, but everytime I go someone ALWAYS takes their shoes off and have their bare feet on the seats! EW!!! Who are you and why do you think this is something acceptable to do?!!!!!?!!! This is not your home! But I feel the popcorn is fresh and the soft pretzels are always fresh, so all-in-all its a pretty decent place.

Currently my favorite movie theater. Newly renovated theater with reclining seats. Matinee prices are quite reasonable. Fully reserved seating where you choose your exact seat online. The fresh kettle corn is sweet and crunchy. There are free seasonings for the popcorn and you can add the butter yourself. Beer and wine are available.

Was assaulted by a juvenile while on my way to the rest room. She was on her way back to her seat with a younger girl. She forced me out of her way as she didn’t want to miss the beginning of the movie which she was seeing for the THIRD TIME!! I was told to “move” in no uncertain terms! I was knocked off balance and almost hit my head on the floor.When I reported the incident to management it was suggested I return to my seat.A young lady arrived with a small bag of popcorn and a bottle of water. She apologized profusely for the incident then left as the movie was beginning.Other movie going occasions at this theater were uneventful.

Small Town Theater Feel with Big Time Theater Accommodations.The Theaters are fully equipped with Hi Def Audio and Visual Equipment, high grade Recliner Seating. The Concessions are tasty, and varied. Popcorn is the best in New Castle County. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome, like the old neighborhood Theaters used to. Fun fact, they are owned and operated by local business named, Westown Movies. And for night and weekend showings they have a beer counter. A nice perk, in an already great theater.

Great Recliners that are perfect for movie watching. However, the lights on the side are distracting and you can hear other movies and people in the hallway while watching your movie. Needs better sound proofing+Darkness. The snacks are great, and is a pretty good movie theater overall.

Great place, recently renovated. Has all the perks of a big movie theater (including the high prices) but its just in downtown Newark! Theres plenty of parking available and the reclining chairs are a blast (if you fall asleep please dont snore ;) )Edit: We bought our tickets online for a movie that started at 7:30 PM and when we arrived they had changed the start time to 7:15 PM without letting us know so we lost 15 minutes of movie. An email or text message shouldve been nice. When I told the person at the register she looked at me like saying what do you want me to do?

This place has the most accurate name of any business ever; its a movie theater with 5 screens located on Main Street. Im partial to this theater since its only seven minutes from my house but it does have great matinee ticket prices and the reclining seats are comfy as all get out.

The power reclining chairs with built in cup holders are comfortable! You can choose kettle corn instead of traditional popcorn along with traditional movie food choices. Theres also a bar if youd like a vino or craft beer during the show.

Recently remodeled and a nice alternative to the the 10,15,20 multiplexes out there. I have seen several first run movies there recently and enjoyed my experience. The usual snack bar and also a small bar for beer and lite wines.
