Looks like a pretty nice place. Better if your staying there perhaps, I seemed to have encountered someone having a grumpy day in any case. Looking at the other folks photos of here I would guess they have steady and regular return customers. The Christmas decorations were what drew my camera.

When calling I was treated very nicely by the lady who took my reservation. I told her that it was for our daughters 11th birthday and that it was a special trip for us. We did not have a hard time finding the location and we were allowed to check in early. Our only issue was the spot they initially tried to put us into. It was so small and there was no room for our awning to open nor for us to put our tables out. My daughter was crying. I walked up to the office and the lady already knew why I was there and fixed it immediately, I told her there was no way my daughter wanted that space and she was wanting to go home. It took us only a few minutes to get a new spot and it was a much nicer spot. We had plenty of room and some trees between us and our neighbor which made it a great experience. My daughter biked all over and loved looking at all the trees and the lake. We felt very safe here walking at night. Everyone we met was super friendly as well. It was a short drive to Publix and like ten minutes to the beach. They even have a store full of snacks, ice cream, rv, bagged ice and camper supplies too. They had a pool, a laundry facility, and a bathroom with showers. They also seemed to have people dumping what looked like construction stuff in the garbage bins as it was full of that stuff and hard to put out garbage in. All in all it was a nice experience.

Although friendly and pet friendly it had problems. Nice shade from trees but poor drainage so roads have ponds and sand sticks to everything. Shuffle board area needs redo. Unhappily the dumpster was picked up at 530 am. If close to road it is loud all night. Dont use credit card. The one and only time mine got hacked was during this stay. Kind of suspicious. On plus side there is a walkway to publix if you forget sonething and is close ride to beach

We didnt get the lot we were promised, but the lot we did get was okay. We were in the section with the full time residents and they were very nice. The property was just okay and needs a lot of work. The cable tv was horrible and we used the antenna for better reception. Most of the staff were okay, but the main reservation, or booking person was definitely not someone you want to deal with. She has no personality and a nasty disposition. We will not be returning because of her specifically.

Didnt realize their were 2 sugar mill places. 6 months ago We werent allowed to extend our days weve been here since Thursday because someone complained we had loud music and such going on. We have barely been here and been out most of the days. However my 3 yr old daughter and I get noones by drunk older people and nothing gets done with them. They were riding around on their golf cart yelling being belligerent and mooning people but nothing got done about that. Now myself and my 3 kids have nowhere to go. Dont go here.

Didnt stay the night only came to visit family staying there. Pros: Very green areas, calm and quiet. Very nice pool and game room (with billiards). Lots of board games, books, and movies. Even a small playground. They also offer wifi. Cons: RV lots are really close together and you have to pay to use the swimming pool as a visitor ($12 for two) and the billiards.

We had a great time during our several day stay. Bathrooms were very clean, and showers were too. The pool was amazing! The tiki bar was an odd and uninviting set up, but that may have been because we went during the off season. It always looked closed up. The outdoor gaming areas were unkept and old, but somewhat usable still. The RV spaces were very small and cramped but it didnt matter much for us either way. The staff was always super friendly and accommodating. A very fun stay while visiting friends in New Smyrna Beach.

We absolutely love the hospitality of this place. It is best when renting a spot and staying in an RV, but they do have beautiful/air conditioned cabins for nightly rentals. The cabins did require us to bring our own bedding/towels and soap, but it had a DVD player/cable/free wi-fi/fridge and a microwave, plus its own shower/toilet room in the cabin instead of having to walk outside to a main one of the park like weve had to do before at other places.FYI the place also has a newly redone pool with fire pits and a beer/wine bar and a full stocked store. We truly never had to leave the place all week. Activities galore schedules as well and a stocked fishing lake in the back. I hope this helps you and Happy Camping! Cant go wrong here truly!

Floridas rich in history and if you blink, youll miss this important landmark. This free local park is based around a short lived 1830s sugar mill enterprise that was razed by Seminoles with the help of the mills slaves.Long abandoned, the history of the ruins became subject of local yarns, rumors, and tales; and for a long while was part of the early tourist circuit.Free. Plenty of beautiful photo ops. Nice clean bathrooms. Foot paths and trails.

Pretty much a run of the mill (no pun intended) RV Park typical of its old age. Tired looking and primarly catering to full time residents and rigs. More like a Trailer Park than campground. We reserved two weeks prior to arriving and were assigned a spot n the back. No picnic table, cable did not work and no cell connection. We will not return to this venue.

The website says tent camping $19.95. I arrived at 10 p.m. they were closed I was late because I had a flat tire on my bicycle. Ive been traveling by bicycle for two and a half years Ive completed and logged over 8,000 miles. That evening the wind was at my back. And rode about 60 miles. I found where the tent camping area was in the back of the campgrounds. I set my tent up at night good intentions to stay for 7 days. In the morning when I went to pay. I was told they dont rent tent camping sites. NBD I have faced worse problems. Unfortunately because it was later in the day Im faced with 15 mile an hour headwinds. As I was packing several other RV campers were interested about my travels. Nice people. Later this guy shows up in a dirty t-shirt it looks at my stuff . And tells me he could have me arrested for trespassing. So I asked him what right does he have to walk up to my camping area . I dont know you. Im the owner he says as he jumps in my face. And repeating starts using the f word. In reference to me. I apologized and told him I was sorry at least 10 times. Im shaking nervously thinking this guy is going to smash my face in. Then I asked him why he was being such a redneck. I said i was sorry. He told me to get off the property dont forget to pay before you leave. As I was leaving I went to pay and the lady told me there was no charge. I was looking forward to staying there because I met some people the night before and new people the next day that I really liked and I felt comfortable around them. And by the way the park is awesome serious enjoy the park just stay away from the owner. The second picture was my campsite.

We finally had to head back north and leave this beautiful resort, that we have called home since last October. We were Sooo excited when we found out sugar mill had a spot for us, we couldnt wait till October to arrive so we could head down. 5ish months later we were sad to leave....From the moment we pulled in, till we rolled out, it felt like home. All the staff working in the office and tiki.. great gals! The park is serene, quiet and always neat and tidy. We have been snowbirds at other Florida rv parks.. but this is truly the best...thank you for everything!

Nice simple campground. Camped in 5th wheel rv. Lots of settled long term campers, however, was really quiet and peaceful. Very country style setting. Kids loved the playground and pool. Pool is very new and very nice! Upon walking my dogs and utilizing the small but cute/efficient dog park, the one complaint I had on the entire property were no garbage cans for trash anywhere except in the front dumpsters and in the pool area...none even around the playground or the lake way back in the back of the property. I saw a few signs with plastic bag dispensers for cleaning up after your dog or be fined (which I always do), however, with no garbage cans anywhere I noticed that when I went to grab a bag out of the dispenser, it was full of used bags and nasty (fortunately I had some extra bags deep in my bag!). I assume people thought that was the waste area..??? Walking the large (nice) property is good with the dogs however, walking 2 large dogs carrying full poop bags all over was less than ideal, especially from the back lake! I even saw bags people just left on the trail, I suppose, bc they were tired of carrying it. Otherwise, a peaceful, home type park.

Upon viewing the amenities that this park has, we assumed it would be family friendly. I find it ridiculous when places chargethe kid tax. If you have an adult 18 yr old camping with you then I could maybe see the upcharge, but a 13 year old really?? He doesnt use up anymore electricity or water than a 12 year old would. The spots were extremely small and kind of junkie looking. Ive spent less money and camped at the base of gorgeous mountains. I would look elsewhere when looking to camp. The place down the road had larger spots.

Review №35

This campground was terrible and looked so much worse in person than the website and googles photos represent.Heres a list of reasons why I hated it (in order of how the events occurred):1. At check in I was charged an $18 hotel fee. That was a first for me....and weve been camping once a month for 2+ years.2. The spots are extremely tight and were difficult to get into and out of.3. The electic pole looks almost homemade and not professionally done at all. There wasnt even a circuit breaker on the pole.4. Laundry was outdoors and pathetic. Oh and $2.00 per wash load (a pretty small load too!) and $1.75 to dry. Highest prices Ive seen yet for laundry (at a campground).5. When I went into the front office to ask if my credit card could be charged in exchange for coins for laundry, the brunette lady was extemely short with me and acted like I was bothering her. (For the record, I fully expected the answer to be no, and it was, in fact, a no.)6. Next to laundry theres a sign that says we are not responsible for power surges. Clearly the shady electric job I witnessed earlier has caused problems in the past....7. It rained pretty hard the first day we were there, and we woke up to a small river flowing through our site. I was going to complain and asked to be moved, but quickly realized I had one of the driest spots in the place. The whole place remained a Disgusting, sloppy, wet, muddy mess for our remaining 3 days.8. The place is full of bad dips and holes. They had the front entrance leveled/graded while we were there, but clearly thats the only part of the park they ever do.9. There are signs all over the place saying to pick up after your pet, but theres literally NO trash cans anywhere!!! Including the dog park.10. The dog park was cute, but was completely flooded and muddy. Theres also a huge gap where the chainlink ends. They attempted to fix it by adding some flimsy chicken wire to the bottom, but didnt even stake it down. Even a large dog could easily push out. And to make things worse, the dog park is right on the main road which is pretty busy. Thank god my dogs dont mess with fencing, but there really needs to be a repair or some warning of this issue.11. Lastly, the park has a lot of full timers who dont seem to care how their site looks. It really gave the whole place a dumpy look. One camper even had empty beer boxes stacked up against the camper.Anyways, we will definitely NOT be returning to this campground. We even left a day earlier than planned.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I think the negative reviews about the staff are primarily from people who go thru life expecting everyone to kiss their behind even though they may be surly themselves (Yankees?) . I found the people here to be very friendly and helpful every time we had any interaction. The pool was clean, the bathrooms are huge and spotless ...they even have dressing rooms. The sites are shaded and lovely. Yes it floods when it rains in June, but that is in Gods control not in the control of the park. When it rains every day at 4:00 and inches per hour, there isnt much around here that doesnt flood. If you want to be assured of dry campsites and no chance of flood, go to Arizona or some other desert. This is Florida for goodness sake, get over yourself! This is the nicest RV park in New Smyrna Beach, and I highly recommend to anyone who wants to stay in this area. Just come with a pleasant attitude and dont expect people to be your slave and you will get along with everyone just fine!
