We love coming here. It’s quiet and peaceful during the week and very lively in the weekends. Just last Saturday and Sunday there were wedding, birthday parties, picnics and classes being held in the open field. There is garden plot for rent. It’s enjoyable to see all kinds of flowers and vegetables being grown in each plot. We always look for the garden cat, Simba who lives here. Bring some cat treat with you and he might show up!

A beautiful and secluded park that is much bigger than it looks like from the streets (where you can’t see much behind the walls). It has pretty fountains and manicured lawns, but it also has lots of wild and free nature too. On the northwest corner there are chickens, which are fun to see. In the other corner there is a beautiful garden and greenhouse.

Beautiful park. But the amount of dogs not on leashes are beyond annoying. No one wants your dirty dogs attempting to sniff peoples rear ends. Park signs says Dogs need to be on leashes!

A gorgeous spot right on the border of New Haven and Hamden, perfect for a picnic or letting the kids run some energy out. Its not a huge park, but enough space and paved roads to do a little walking. There are plants for sale in the greenhouse (limited hours), and fun events and festivals throughout the year.

I LOVE this park. The greenhouse & especially the conservatory are phenomenal. The park is extremely clean & well maintained. Its the perfect place to read, picnic stroll or jog. I always encounter the friendliest people & so many dogs! Its also just big enough that privacy can be accomplished. There isnt a playground but wide enough spaces for children to run around or picnic. Such a beautiful spot.

This is a historic park that was previously the Estate of Eli Whitney. Good to take your dogs your dogs for a walk or you can let them run in a huge open field. Very quiet and beautiful park. They also have a library and a great staff member to tell you about the history of the former Estate thats now a thriving park for all to come.

We dont live in New Haven but we often work in the park shooting weddings. The park is an Oasis and a great place to walk (the dog) and just chill. They have a community garden you can walk through with some amazing plants, flowers and vegetables. Its not a large park but its very well maintained and if you venture outside down the street are some amazing homes to view.

This hidden gem is probably the most beautiful park Ive seen around New Haven. I went there on a sunny Saturday morning with my dog, and he ran around the hills off leash. There is a sign that says to keep dogs on leash, but people are friendly and if your dog is behaved they dont mind. Just make sure to pick up after your pup if you go.

I love the Edgerton Park greenhouses. They are filled with unusual and common plants, from tiny to huge. Theres plenty to purchase, or you can just look around. There is a tropical plants greenhouse with very interesting plants from around the world, not for sale. You can also wander through the community gardens tended by local individuals. This New Haven park (on the border of New Haven and Hamden) is enjoyable every season of the year. With well-tended grounds and many ornamental plants, it s a lovely spot for a wedding. There is excellent sledding in winter (lots of thrills without the dander of the Divinity School Hill), Shakespeare in the Park in August, and several festivals. It is an excellent place to walk your leashed dog or to check out the specimen trees (many marked with labels). Be sure to visit the Sarah T. Crosby Conservatory open from 10-4 daily.
