The running staff turned into very pleasant. Im hoping that extra humans will find out about this location. The records that incorporate the cave is very exciting. The overlook is extraordinary. The caves are quite wild, you could climb inner, or up on top of the rocks. The history is pretty exciting, worth getting to know your very own time.

I came here to do research for my new novel. It wasn’t exactly what I expected, but it was a quiet and peaceful park—which I appreciated. Operating staff was very friendly. I hope that more people will learn about this place. It’s a great story from early American History.

This is a really neat place with an interesting history. You can drive right up to where the cave is and have a picnic, and there are trails nearby if you want to hike.

Some New Haven history. Not a cave, just some big rocks. But the story is a good one. Whalley, Goffe, and Dixwell was the Three Judges, hiding up there from the King of England.

Its a very beautiful sight to see. The history that comes with the cave is very interesting. The overlook is awesome. You can see all of New Haven, West Haven and Hamden. Nive trails along the way also.

Able to be driven to, but the hole that begins at the base of so much fun with step and challenging grades that give way to easy slopes!

The climbing to the mountain is nice and the observation points around are pretty impressive. But i saw no cave there... Just a few rocks and memorial board.

Kids love to climb on the boulders and into the cave. One picnic table. Parking around the circle. Access to trails. No restroom.

It would be nice, now that the state charges every driver to use the state parks, that they would practice some upkeep.

Im not sure where most people begin their ascent, but there are several trails that ultimately bring you up there. The trails themselves can use a once over with some new trail markers & signs. As far as I can tell, other then the roadway entrance to the park there isnt any signage for trailheads so if youre not a local it may be difficult to find! Otherwise its a pretty enjoyable hike, some nice lookouts from the side of the mountain. Its a bit surreal, being on a mountain in the middle of the woods in New Haven which is a pretty big city! My kids call it Lego City because it looks so fake and small from way up high. The caves are pretty wild, you can climb inside, or up on top of the rocks. The history is quite interesting, worth researching on your own time. All in all well worth a visit.
