This place is great for the entire family. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. There is a park for the kids and if you bring quarters you can feed the ducks. Some Sundays you can even enjoy live Jazz. I absolutely recommend it.

Excellent place for making memories. Take a nice romantic evening stroll, leisurely picnic, family time or walking the dog. Well lit and nice breezes coming off the river. Seating around the waterfront. Repairs to the area have been implemented. Lawn is well maintained and lush. Great photo shot opportunities. Missing the summer evening concerts.

Ended up here due to a wrong turn. Beautiful scenery, the park was very clean, and everyone we spoke with was so welcoming. We will definitely return when we have more time to explore the city.

I cant say enough about Union Park and downtown New Bern. Such a beautiful city ! The City and the Recreation Dept. are always beautifying our park and streets since Hurricane Florence. Visit once and you will want to visit again or even move to New Bern! Love New Bern

Union point park was a lovely place to visit! There’s a small gazebo to sit and rest here. On a beautiful day, this is a view to want! The bridge next to the pier went up when we were there and it was a cool thing to see. It’s very wide, meaning many people can walk and you shouldn’t worry about falling in! It’s an overall nice place to take a walk or visit friends.

Perfect place to take the pets or kids, or just to go for a walk with a friend or loved one. Beautiful view of the Neuse River, landscape is well maintained, and large open areas for kids and pets to get that energy out. There are always ducks and pigeons by the boat ramp, and theres a food dispenser if you should decide to feed the birds. Overall, a perfectly peaceful, blissful park experience.

This is a very lovely place. There is a nice little park for children and park benches. There is a designated area for picnics with tables and grills, with clean bathrooms. On Sundays you can find Bill Rigert playing his great jazz, and looking to share the stage with other talented musicians.

I grew up in New Bern and its amazing to see the growth and development taking place today. Union point has always been one of my favorite spots to CLEAR MY MIND! Whether its Feeding the Birds or just sitting with my Thoughts union point is definitely FIVE STARZZ!!

I would highly recommend this place as must to visit where you can spend time with family. Big parks for kids to play.. the amazing part is to see the bridge which opens when big ship or boat crosses the bridge. This is similar to London bridge in London, UK . There are birds and geese which you can feed with bread.. Beautiful place to click lots of amazing pics. The whole city located as water front. You can do fishing there. We got lucky to see the rainbow just after the rain. Ample of free parking and benches to sit,relax and have lunch and snacks together.

The park was quite lovely. Its disturbing to see people out without wearing a mask or social distancing especially if you see people wearing masks. They walk too close to those who are trying to stay safe.

Good and fun place to take granddaughter....they have feed machines for the birds and ducks..only .25 for a handful... also enjoy the Gazebo area and relaxing on the benches on the waterfront.. There is a WARNING SIGN: WATCH OUT FOR THE GATORS!

Pretty cool little park. It’s family friendly, with a playground for kids. The grass is well cared for, lots of people were on it having a picnic or relaxing. Plenty of benches, including some shaded seating.

This park on the waterfront is a absolutely beautiful place for weddings but its also just a great place to go sit and watch the boats go by while having a picnic.

Its truly hard to enjoy yourself when they have a duck that is sick. I felt so bad for this duck .

Quiet,peaceful,the water lapping on shore. Ducks,geese,sea gulls of unknownvarieties. Advice...the birds dont like fried foods. No onions,potatoes. Nada. Spend a quarter and feed them healthy.

It was nice! Very clean. Benches to sit on and watch the water and boats. There ate picnic tables to eat at or if you choose, spread out a blanket and have lunch! A lot of dog walkers, places for kids to play, over all a very nice place to visit!

Went with group from my job. Beautiful grounds, lots of families were present. The bathrooms were clean, we fed the ducks and the birds and walked around the grounds. Lots of water to see and great photo ops, even with the day being very gray outside. I plan on going back and will bring my family!

Great views on the riverfront. This is a place with beautiful views, walk trails, yachts, restaurants, shopping, ducks to feed, grills, public seating, restrooms and more.

Great place to walk around and bring the kids if you want. Also, if youre a fan of Pokemon, this is a great place to play.

Union point is a great place to walk the water front. It is one of our favorite places to ride our bikes to and grab a bench. Its a great place to enjoy a quiet moment while you feel the breeze blow across the water. The park has swings and special needs swings too. There are plenty of picnic tables around the park to enjoy. I dont believe there are any grills available to use in this park but Fort Totten park down the road has grills and covered tables if you need one. Union Point has a public accessible bathrooms but no family/unisex bathrooms which is located close to the intersection. All around its a great place to spend some time.

No problems at all. The city did a terrific job cleaning up after all the storms and now with covid-19. As I walked around, the park looks like there was never a problem there. Keep up the great work New Bern!!

Family friendly place. I went there in winter around the Christmas season. The lit up the shelter and trees with bulbs. Additionally, you can enjoy waterfront trails.

Drove two hours, just to sit here in peace. Cool summer breeze, festively lit bridges, and the calming sound of waves hitting the shore.

Kid loved walking around on the river walk and feeding the ducks. The walkway has a part that goes right next to the water and there are times you can get your feet wet.

One of New Berns best sites to visit while in town. Waterfront Park with walking on the waterfront and nearby downtown. The docks are currently under construction but still worth the visit.

Whenever I am in deep thought or simply want to escape the world in which I live for a brief moment, I go to Union Point. The waters are very soothing. The ducks are a joy to see cruising down the water. It is fun feeding the seagulls then leaving before the aftermath. All in all, great place to take a breather, to crab, and to participate in festivals whenever they are around.

Nice place to stop to enjoy your picnic lunch. Parking was available. There was a bunch of people enjoying the park when we were visiting.

Union Point Park is a great place to bring the family for fun . Occasional special events are included for the public to enjoy for free . There is a path that parallels the waterfront for walking. A large Gazebo gives you views of the ocean, including the bridge and a landscape that surrounds this area. A boardwalk extends just beneath a drawbridge overhead, which connects you to more historical sites in town. Ducks by the water will greet you at times, or just nest peacefully. Twenty five cents will by a handful of healthy duck food so you can feed them. This just rounds up the charm of what a city of much history can offer. The night offers a lighted Gazebo that throws an ambient glow. Ive included two visuals taken at dark, soon to add more so you can see the area in daylight.

Public park located in the historic downtown section of New Bern. Great location to sit and relax and take in the views. Free parking and clean public restrooms make the stop a comfortable and easy to access. This is a perfect starting point for a walk around the waterfront or the downtown shops and restaurants.

Union Point Park is a well kept park situated by the Neuse River in downtown New Bern. For a quarter, you can get healthy food for ducks out of a dispenser, instead of giving the ducks bread and other leftovers that arent good for them. Sometimes the Rock Pigeons will mob you though, and that is kind of stressful. There are usually a few Laughing Gulls or Ring-billed Gulls, the species depending on time of year. The gulls can catch food while they hover in the air in front of you, which is pretty cool, and I like to reward their extra effort! During spring/early summer, the baby mallards are really cute. You can see them huddled on the shoreline with their parents, taking a rest during the late afternoon hours.One winter, the day after our ABA area Christmas Count, I found a lone Northern Pintail hanging out with all the mallards and other domestic types. The duck stayed for weeks, and soon was joined by an equally unusual Green-winged Teal. I also got my life American Pipit there that season. Other uncommon but different species Ive seen are Surf Scoter and Bufflehead. And one lazy Saturday afternoon, I got to watch an adult Bald Eagle snatch a fish right out of the river! Wow!There is an Osprey nest on top of a piling in the Neuse River, visible from the gazebo. I enjoy checking it for activity. Around the river, Osprey are very common.Once in a rare while you can catch glimpses of porpoises as they migrate through.The wildlife diversity is not much, and I took off one star just because its usually more crowded than I like; however, its still a nice place for a leisurely waterfront stroll, or to bring a blanket and spread out on the grass under a tree. For kids, there is a swing set and plenty of space to run around.Recommended, especially on rainy/misty days when there are fewer people.

Union Park is a small nice park near the water. You can fish, crab, take walks, feed the ducks, and catch Pokemon! The city is looking good come on by New Bern to drink, shop and walk.

Nice park. A great public restroom. Free books on site. Very cool ideas here. Negatives are that theres a few redundancies...its very classy for weddings and events to have the gateless to the water steps but theres debris under there and its not picturesque let alone safe for kids or animals along the walk way. It is a novel idea but its voided by old pier debris. Theres a few lingering locals as well. Some bring an amplifier and play out of date and style music. Theres some wrist slappers here too. They show up on motorcycles that are too heavy for children to challenge other men physically and emotionally like 1950s female wrestlers and scan the periphery to make sure theres plenty of wimps in the area and to cast dispersions about Vietnam era politics and race issues of the 1990s in the Bermuda triangle area. A boring stand alone clan they holler at cars who attempt to travel the wrong way around the lot route. These are usually delivery trucks or the odd confused traveller. Theres a cool setting to feed the ducks but its kind of dirty at times as sea gulls mix in. The gazebo is nice and the area is great for picnics, dog walking and playing, excercise, pictures, games, kids, working on your car or boat, and theres like a quarter mile more walkway to the park if you follow along the street. Its a great location but it has its flaws. They host a Friday night movie in the park when its warm and thats really nice.

We always love to visit this place when we are in town. Our kids love it too.

Bring some bread to feed the wildlife. Sit on a bench and love the views. Swing the kids some and just get a little walk. Thats about all there is to do but that much can make for a relaxing few hours.
