We stopped here the Monday before Thanksgiving 2020. Found the staff disinterested and unhelpful. Theyd only answer direct questions, didnt try to help and walked away after answering any direct question. Their behavior suggested they were more interested in theyre morning gab fest. There was some interesting stuff in the store to look at. But they need better staff
A lovely little place featuring the historical part of Pepsi! It’s a nice tourist area to see if you’re visiting the town. They have good Pepsi floats- which I’d never had before. They also have a little gift shop including cute apparel and interesting specially made things. The guy working was friendly and the place was spacious enough.
I requested a machine to be placed at my job months ago, they came out and set it up. It sold two drinks the first 20 minutes it was plugged in then died. They came out and worked on the machine numerous times and it would sell one drink and quit. When I called to get them to fix it the last time, no one showed up. That was over 2 months ago. Every time the service guys came out they wondered why that machine was put here knowing that rain gets in it and shorts it out. When the guy came to fill the machine he found a full machine that had drinks that were out of date and he got the service guys to come out finally. I asked the rep to put us in a better machine that is larger and thought that we were going to get it. Instead they bring the same style machine that failed repeatedly. His claim being “There’s not enough foot traffic. We’re on one of the the busiest streets in Hagerstown and people stop every day to buy drinks (not just one or two either) being really close to the gate at Mack truck we get plenty of trafficMy suggestion is to find a vendor who will work with you. We paid the electric bill for months and got maybe 11 or 12 drinks in roughly the 6 months that it was here
Ice cold Pepsi. Hot popcorn. Original wood floors and patina. This little museum makes my southern bones very happy. There was something about my wife and I sitting there at a corner table with a Pepsi and mountain dew absolutely devouring our popcorn that even now makes me smile. The atmosphere inside of the Pepsi Museum makes you feel like you stepped back in time. From the soda fountain, the hardwood floor and the massive wood bar; you feel as if you were sitting in a soda shop from back in the day.
1st time having a soda float and where better than the birthplace of Pepsi!?! I loved this place, its cute and friendly employees. Definitely returning before heading back home.
Have wanted to visit and I finally got to enjoy Brads Drugstore. Loved it.
This is the birthplace of Pepsi. They have lots of Tshirts, bottle openers, Keychains, postcards and all kinds of Pepsi memorabilia. They also have lots of Mt. Dew items as well. You can get drinks on ice or in bottles. They have a flat penny machine. They also have vintage items and specialty items on display that are not for sale. The staff was nice and helpful and can answer your questions if you have any. Pay them a visit if you come to New Bern.
I have always loved Pepsi and Mt.Dew so it really hurts my feelings that I have mixed reviews about this landmark on March 21st of 2020 we visited just to get out of the house so we Went to New Bern just to visit the birthplace of Pepsi they kept it authentic as hell as I felt like it was 1898 all over again and I missed the NO COLORED ALLOWED sign outside the door. No one greeted my family the 2 girls sat with their backs to us and whispered to each other we wandered around until we got bored without purchasing anything but as we headed to the door another customer came in and was greeted with complete attention and generosity. We visited again in June and we had a great experience the counter girl Jordan was friendly and enthusiastic about her job she told us parts of the history and we had pop corn and ice cold Pepsi in the glass bottles it was a completely different experience than the first visit. She even suggested we visit the local museum to see more on Brads Drink and the actual equipment he used to invent one of our favorite beverages this would have been a 5 star review for nostalgia alone had We had this encounter the first time around
Great local or tourist experience!More of a shop than anything else, good for souvenirs and local flavor. Get some fresh popped popcorn and buy a souvenir cup for a free ice cold Pepsi, as a coke lover this place was still fun, tasty and nice place to take a break with kids in downtown new bern.... bonus across the street is a sitting area and other corner a church with a free out door playground.
Just an old shops with different flavours of pepsi drink and at the other side there is a gift shop. Nothing special about the shop but the street is really good specially during during the hallowe’en.
Our birthplace of Pepsi. Lots of information and history. Great place to sit and have a Pepsi and popcorn. Also has merchandise you can buy.
This is really a cool store to visit and to know about the Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola, the history of its inventor and the early days of one of the worlds favorite soft drinks. The price of drinks in this store is under 1$. There are seats inside store to sit and enjoy the drinks. You can also purchase souvenir and other stuff from the store. You can take pictures nearby buildings and church.
Quaint little store in the heart of New Bern. All kind of Pepsi memorabilia. Get a Pepsi anda abag of popcorn and enjoy the ambiance.
Really cool to enjoy an ice cold Pepsi in the actual place its formula was invented! Phil, the guy operating the soda counter, was very friendly and entertaining. You could tell he really enjoys working with the public. Lots of Pepsi & Mountain Dew memorabilia and lots of Pepsi & Mountain Dew souvenirs to purchase here. At the counter, a large Pepsi on ice is only $1, including tax... And fresh popcorn (the only food product sold here) is $1.50, including tax.
We loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. It took us back to when we were children. Very nostalgic.
Very cool store. Cold Pepsi in glass bottles is the best
Cool place to visit and walk around all of the blocks and down by the waters edge. New bern is just a nuce place in general
Whats not to love, Pepsi is the most delicious soda made, and this original soda jerk shop still offers the Pepsi via draft!!! ️ Its a must every single time we come to town, and now I have my own little one to share this tradition with!!!!
We were surprised to find the birthplace of Pepsi on our visit! The staff were extremely friendly as we arrived close to closing time. We bought a few souvenirs; if you know any big fan of Pepsi or Pepsi products (like Mountain Dew) make the pilgrimage and pick up some interesting merchandise!
Fun little museum dedicated to the very building that Pepsi started in
Friendly and welcoming staff. Its mostly a place to sell Pepsi stuff and a little history.
Cute little old pharmacy with anything pepsi a sight seeing person could want. Nice find as we were getting some fresh seafood!! Glad places like this still exist to keep our history alive.
We spent a few hours in New Bern and learned that Pepsi was born there. Had to make a quick stop at the shop. Purchased a few items for the kids in the family. They do have a great variety of items for the collector. Snacks and drinks available too.
New Bern is such a beautiful and historic city full of unique stories such as this one. As I prefer Pepsi-Cola over Coke any-day, this was a very fascinating visit. It is not overwhelming at all but gives you a timeline overview of how Pepsi-Cola came to be and the man behind the genius of it. There are plenty of souvenirs to choose from and the workers are the best and kindest workers I have met in a coons-age! Highly recommend this quick-stop along the historic route.
Nice place to visit. Quaint little soda shop with Pepsi memorabilia.
Stopped in yesterday while visiting the town of New Bern and it did not disappoint! I ordered a delicious Pepsi-Cola and freshly made popcorn to enjoy. The staff was extremely kind to me and even allowed a few photos to be taken. What a memorable holiday experience! I would very much recommend it! (IG: @alvintheoctopus)
I gave the cashier 2 $5 bills equalling $10. She gave me no change back when my total was $6. I was supposed to get $4 back as change. I nicely pointed this out to her and she chose to argue and opened up the drawer and showed me a random $5 bill and random $1. She proceeded to whisper to the other worker afterwards. Poor customer service all around. She had been distracted talking to another customer who had already been helped the entire time I was asking her for stuff.
I was born in New Bern so when I returned for a visit I stopped downtown to see how much has changed from my last visit. Of course its as beautiful as ever but not this location. I dont know what to make of it. Is it a museum? Is it a memorabilia shop? Is it a soda shop? Whatever this location purports to be it isnt impressive. No food?? Just some random Pepsi items in cases laying around. Maybe I was expecting more but I left disappointed.
What a Great stop. The ladies working were so kind. Stop off and get a fountain drink or bottle of Pepsi!
Nice lil soda store. Not a lot history/museum wise but still worth peeking in.
Friendly and affordable. Love the Pepsi floats!
While I dont condone drinking soda, this is a favorite visiting place for friends and family. This is the place where Brads Drink, later named Pepsi, was created. This tiny shop started a multi-billion dollar world renowned company. Its interesting to see where it all began, and they have plenty of memorabilia and antique products to look at. They even have products for viewing from around the world. Definitely worth the trip.
Nice place great prices, workers on extra slow mode
Really cool little museum!! They have the best popcorn and Pepsi floats. Needless to say, we come here multiple times a week.
Some info, but not a museum set up where you can follow the history. Just facts here and there in the gift shop
Such a cool place to visit! I come from a family of Pepsi lovers... Great little historical spot and friendly staff
Iconic place of Pepsi Cola. I went there in Christmas season and it was worth visiting.
Small but interesting. Worth seeing.
Love the shop. Small town, proud of their heritage.
Its a great historical place, but it is small. There were two older ladies attending the counter, which I assume is to buy drinks and popcorn. Its unfortunate that they didnt offer more, like Pepsi floats or Pepsi candies. The museum itself is more of a shop with a video playing about the history. Cute place overall, but I think they could do more than sell souvenirs. Maybe sell an original Pepsi tasting (with or without the alcohol!).
Great store, interesting history. Pepsi Floats are delicious!
The museum part is very interesting and you cant beat a cold Pepsi on tap, especially as a float
The one and only Cola if NC.
I wanted to visit this place for years; when I did, it didnt disappoint.
Cute museum in a store. Lots of Pepsi and Mountain Dew branded gifts for those back home and a soda fountain too. Friendly staff.
It is a cool Pepsi store with soda fountain refreshments available.
Neat history and soda shop!
They were getting ready to close, so the clerks were not to interested in our being there.
A gem in the heart of New Bern! You have to drop in and buy a Pepsi out of the tap for 50¢ - there is nothing better. It’s such a cute, old fashioned soda shop. Absolutely love it!
A slice of real southern cooking.
Cute little store where Pepsi was born
I have ordered a few items from here. Nice items and arrive quickly. Ive been drinking Pepsi since the 70s when they came in round glass bottles. Thank you.
Pretty cool to have a Pepsi at the place where it all started. They also have lots of Pepsi merch as well if that’s your thing.
Not much to it, but great prices on drinks and good popcorn!
Great place to sit and enjoy the place where it all began. Nice shopping in the historic building as well.
Love this town called New Bern, North Carolina. When you think of Southern Charm oh my gosh New Bern should be the top of everything this place is so cute and the towns people are friends that you havent met yet.
As a huge Pepsi fan, this was a dream come true. It was like when Christian people come to Betlehem.
It a must to swing on by and check out the history while drinking a glass of Pepsi. The kids love getting a Pepsi float and some popcorn. It’s a small spot, but has tons of character.
I love this place and visit here quite a bit however I have noticed on two separate occasions when ordering popcorn the server has her thumb inside the bag when filling with popcorn. Gross. One server was young on the weekend and one was older during weekday. It would be nice to observe them wash their hands before serving or at least keep your thumb out of my bag.
Lots of neat Pepsi-brand memorabilia and souvenirs. Worth a stop!
Fun place to visit, insteading to see items from my childhood. Lots of fun facts.
Cool Place to go and see the history of Pepsi. Lots of history and cool items.
A little bored but nice place i though it would be more things to do its ok tho
What a great shop and museum. My grandparents were Pepsi Cola Bottlers so for me this was almost like going home. I certainly felt a connection to family while visiting. The prices were reasonable. With the influence Soft Drinks have had on America and the World this is a great stop. And its not over the top like the rival brand.
Cool little shop bit they could do SO much more with it.
Does it get any better than Pepsi?
Fun place to get some history of the iconic brand!!
Such an amazing experience! I had the purest Pepsi I’ll ever taste in my life, everyone is so kind and can tell you everything you need to know about the history of Pepsi. I LOVED it!!!! For those who think young
Lots of cool artifacts of Pepsi stuff
I visit the Birthplace of Pepsi Cola every time I visit Eastern North Carolina/home. They have a wide variety of gifts and trinkets including my favorite t-shirt “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drink Coke”. I suggest, at the minimum, stopping in for a fresh fountain Pepsi, with a small only being .50! You can also get some popcorn and enjoy their bistro Pepsi tables and chairs. On your way out, there’s a guestbook to sign, too! Parking is available on the streets and I usually park on either Pollock Street or Middle Street for easy access to the store. Enjoy!
Absolutely fantastic just a fun place to sit back and soak up the atmosphere of a by-gone era! With a period correct soda fountain, popcorn, and furniture
Great place to visit in New Bern North Carolina, you can come in and have a Pepsi where it all began highly recommended!
Nice little place. Dont expect anything like the world of coke. Still it is awesome
The smell of popcorn just entices you right in the door of this small pharmacy where Pepsi was created. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere
There was not much to see. We were walking and saw it was open so we stopped in. There is a soda bar and an informative bar tender along with a gift shop with novelty items.
Very nice I even got free drink and water
Nice organized store with a good selection of merchandise.
Seating area in the front to enjoy your drinks. Spacious. Many glass pepsi bottles & some fragile antiques; Mountain Dew items as well. Cute small shop! Washrooms inside for guests.
Check out these cool wings right around the corner
Awesome place in a great town.. Extremely inexpensive and great employees
Interesting place to visit. I was surprised to find out how exactly Pepsi was born.
Great history of Pepsi.
I love Pepsi and always enjoy going in the Pepsi store. It is a cute spot that is worth visiting. Staff is friendly, bathroom is open to shoppers, and prices are reasonable. I wish the merchandise selection was a bit wider, but we still enjoy seeing whats new each time we visit.
Nice place with a cafe.
Great place to learn about Pepsi-Cola and to buy a nice Pepsi souvenir!
This store is so cute! They say its hands on for kids but its really just a souvenir shop! The history to this building is astonishing! Definitely something to check out!
Birthplace of Pepsi in New Bern, NC. Neat place to visit!!!
This is a must see in New Bern. Such a fun historic sight to visit and grab a cool beverage, maybe a popcorn, to stroll around the rest of downtown. You might consider taking a moment to reflect on what lengths the pharmacist went to to perfect his recipe right on that very spot and how Pepsi is now a global superpower. The fact that something so profiud, albeit a soda, was created right here and in such a beautiful and historic town and you get to be a small part of it.
Truly a special place with rich history. You are literally standing in the same location it was invented. I saw a review a while back expressing disappointment and comparing it to Coca-Colas museum in Atlanta, this is nothing similar to that but It is truly authentic and FREE unless you make a purchase!! They have memorabilia and souvenirs for purchase but it is not some huge production your going to spend 3/4 of your day on. Its especially great if your on a budget, just stop in and get the best tasting Pepsi youve ever experienced in your entire LIFE in the exact same spot it was created in all for roughly 5 bucks for four people!
Its been over 10 years since I last visited and the space has opened into the adjacent storefront. Wonderful selection of Pepsi and Mountain Dew souvenirs in the location where Pepsi was developed in Downtown New Bern, North Carolina.
Very nostalgic. We stumbled upon it by accident! Small but quaint, but if you’re a Pepsi or Mt. Dew lover, kinda cool to say you’ve been there once. I have some family members who are “Dew” fans so it was a great opportunity to grab them some souvenirs.
Was a really cute and quaint shop.
Historical....very cool.
A must see spot in New Bern, get a Pepsi and check out the store. Im a Coke person but its still neat to check out
Really neat to see the Pepsi birthplace. Pepsi souvenirs abound from shirts to bottle openers. Very friendly people greeted us.
Amazing place to visit.
