It is very beautiful there, the park itself is huge!! Theres a spot for fishing, boating, walking, biking, walking your dog, restrooms and plenty of parking space. Beautiful scenery of the water and a great place to relax!!!

Lawson Creek is gorgeous with dispersed parking areas, a boat launch, wildlife viewing and more. There are bathrooms which are clean. The atmosphere at the park is perfectly pleasant. Upon entry (free) enjoy a Blue Angels plane, creeks, river and trees. You wont be disappointed.

Both Boat ramps are in great shape. The boat ramp at the north side has the ability to load 3 boats at at time. The ramp at the east end can load 2 boats at a time and a steeper ramp and deeper water and a straight line to the Trent River.

So.. We visited from Virginia. We came specifically for the fireworks. They were way better than my home town. Not stellar but solid. The park was where they set them off. It was clean, small enough that I wasnt upset about walking where we were going. Its hard to review the park without reviewing the event because in my case they were one in the same... Ill just say that it could have used a ton more planning. Vendors and event planners need to seriously expand their expectations and tlrethink some things.

Clean and peaceful fishing. There was a homeless man there living out of his van.

Lawsons is the most peaceful place in New Bern,NC.. breath taking scenes..

Everytime I go there I have a pleasant experience. I recommend to anyone who wants to get out.

Love this place. Covered picnic areas, restrooms, quiet and restful place to eat take out meals.

Great boat launch area, kayak and canoe launch also, but not much else. A lot of open space to run your dog or chip a golf ball. Accessible parking and fresh water fishing docks. An old Blue Angels A4 plane to look at. Lots of different trees planted here, Marsh Mallow, wild poinsetta, other flowers. Worth a stop but if you expect manicured lawns this isnt your kind of place.

Great place for a half hour to hour walk along the water.

Clean bathrooms. Walking driving paths too narrow. Guy w headphones almost walked into our vehicle.

Lawson Creek Park is a nice park to go have fun with your friends and family but its not a good place for fishing or crabbing we sat there for 2 hours and not one bite or nibble from crabs or fish but yes it is a nice place to chill at or go play .

Its not a park for runners, but for a short stroll or a place to start your run, it is good. There are bathrooms and water fountains.

Good place to launch a boat!

One of my favorite places in New Bern. Jacks Island is a great place to take Labs for a morning swim!!

Wonderful mini get away

Wonderful park with many amenities, but still suffering from being used as a dump for decades. Numerous underwater obstructions and old debris visible everywhere. The playing fields can be dangerous due to buried metal and glass. Could be maintained and groomed far better and improved greatly.

Having a good comeback after the hurricane. The city is clearly making a good effort to make the park better than before. Still a good place to launch your boat, with ample, large parking spaces for trailers.

Very nice park and boat ramps. The city of New Bern maintains this park and keeps it secure. Another great reason to visit New Bern.

Amazing wildlife, turtles,deer, and even somefish. They have grills and huts, great for a spending time with friends and/or family. They have wooden platforms that float on the water where you can feed the fish.

Nice quiet place to get out and walk. They havent repaired the lower boat launch, which is fine. Lots of folks who launch their boats there have little reguard for others.

Beautiful park. Two boat ramps. One on the Trent river and the other more protected ramp on Lawsons Creek. A small hiking trail, multiple picnic areas. Also a soccer/football/ultimate Frisbee field. Multiple docks to fish from and just an all around awesome park!Also a cool spot across from Lawsons Creek is Stand Up Outfitters. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks and really explore the waters around the area.

I just used the boat launch, but a very clean park!

Went for 4th of July festival. It was nice.

It has a couple ramps. If your launching a jetski be aware, lot of douche baggery- back flaps and gay sperries and they are quick to croud you! Guy nearly ran me over clearly a pretty busy ramp on saturdays. Wait to mid afternoon to launch

Great little park with some good (shallow) boat ramps.

Only 4 stars because the deep ramp (on the Trent river side) is still closed from damage caused by hurricane Florence.Decent bathrooms and a lot of parking for fishers putting their flat-bottomed boats in.

Great access to the river. Wished it was better maintained.

Alot of costruction at the one boat ramp but usable. Main ramp closed.

Awesome place to see and enjoy a concert

Fun place to relax and let your dog run. We have an extra long leash for him. We like how clean everything is.

Great park. Boat launches,picnic, nature walk, ball field, could take your time and look around you might even be able to find an alligator.

This is the best place to go in the bern.. Be even better if it was 24hrs open... But if they would make it ok to go to rock cory that would b the best place to go... The water is clean an its the best place to go fishing.an swimming... It could b a great place for a yearly thing with your family... The trails r beautiful. But the ppl that run newbern r no it alls. You could go camping out there an everything. I caught serveral bass in one day, an they wernt under 4lbs. But its beautilful. An great for swimming. I gireenteed the crime rate would drop...

They are doing a lot of up dates to Lawson Creek Park and improving the grounds and parking area as well.
