Great place to visit. Make sure to bring a lot of bug spray when you visit after rain or worn when it is humid there are tons of mosquitos later at night. It’s a nice place to walk our 1.5 year old and hardly ever more than 2 cars there. The boardwalk is shaded. The bathrooms are immaculate for public bathrooms. It’s a very nice place. FYI there are no trash cans on the trail. It’s kept very clean. I’ve seen a bobcats, otters, alligators, and so many other animals here it’s amazing.
Great park in the middle of Naples. Plenty of space and great to take your dog on a leash.
Beautiful close in . Surprisingly quiet. Really like the memory it is fantastic great way to use undevelopable land to filter water before it goes into the bay.
Excellent shade on the boardwalk. Great for strollers along with the other trail, its paved. My toddler and I have been to numerous parks in Collier County and Freedom Park is BY FAR the cleanest park we have been to. When you walk the walkway, you see all types of bunnies and butterflys.. fish in the lake.. my toddler loves it there.
Bike paths, birding, walking paths, lake views, marvelous boardwalk and a GREAT 2001 Freedom memorial....all that tranquility nestled between Golden Gate and Goodlette Frank.
Lots of walking to do here! Not a lot of different scenery, and its unfortunately close to Goodlette-Frank (of course nothing can be done about that), but good for a cool day to get out and enjoy a bit of nature. We have only been able to walk the eastern loops, but on a cooler day well be back to see the rest.
Freedom Park is such a peaceful atmosphere to take a walk or run after a long at work or just being on lockdown these past few months. Fresh air, nature, and the beautiful lakes gives you a refreshing feeling.
Pretty nice park with plenty of stunning visual scenery. Several ponds with abundant wildlife including alligators. Pets on leashes are welcome as is fishing allowed. Bathroom services are available. An on-site educational facility with neat knickknacks is run by the Collier County Parks and Recreation department. A cool park one definitely needs to cross off on their Collier county parks list.
This is a great little park. They have a nice paved walk around a few little lakes. It is a good place for some exercise and a little fishing. They sometimes have a little nature center opened to explore and learn. There are a lot of different animals that you could see, especially in rainy season. The otters and Marsh rabbits are hiding. When we are not fishing, my wife and I come here to take family photos. Some great spots for the outdoor look, including a nice boardwalk with trees and plants as a background.Overall it is a great place to escape the crazy city, and it is right in the middle of town.
Love this park, as you have 2 paths to walk through, one where there is only boardwalk and the other where you have a small pond in the center with a larger pavement path circling around.
Great place to skate around, multiple smooth paths run through trees and ponds. Its a really nice place.
Our favorite park in Naples. The memorial flag statue is amazing. Love the trails and scenery. Such a beautiful place! Dog friendly, bicycle friendly paths. We also enjoy the catch and release fishing. Inside the building is an educational space with another small play room for the kids. One of the coolest indoor free play areas with puzzles, books, plushies, animal figures, building blocks and so much more.
Beautiful little place and so quiet .. loved it ty
Beautiful park. Wide open feel. Nice boardwalk and other trails. Shaded seating area available.
Nice park, great place to enjoy a good stroll.
Awesome escape. Calm and beautiful.
Still here. Been by this place 20 times and never saw it. Absolutely beautiful, and wildlife is awesome. Cant wait to bring my kids back here. Pics to follow later. Not sure if this is a city, county or state, but whoever manages this, does an absolutely sensational job. Came from Fort Myers and I will be back for sure
This is such a great Park. Theres also a building with lots of artifacts and educational things to read. You can also get your parking permit here. Two Trails, one West and one East, one is around lakes and is wooden boardwalk where you can take your bikes and fish the other is just a walking trail.
Beautiful boardwalk! I was able to walk my dogs in peace and enjoyed friendly people walking, running and also enjoying the park in a very respectful manner! It is a pleasure to see both young and elderly coming together to enjoy nature and the outdoors!I was very moved by the memorial banners that honored the service of the local military.
Had a beautiful morning walking through the park. There are benches throughout the park in which to rest and take in the sights and sounds of nature. It was quiet and all the woodland sounds could be heard. The memorial is just beautiful and inspiring. Overall, I had a wonderful morning in Freedom Park.
I love being outside and this parks not too far from our home. Well maintained and pretty, as far as wild life goes I’ve only seen snakes here.
Nice place to walk and surprisingly not alot of bugs at the time i went which was a plus
What a nice walk. Weather was great, sun shining almost the whole trail. Only saw some birds as far as nature went.
Nice and quiet. Very well kept
Finally Naples has a real park, and it is amazing! So much thought and effort went into the design of this beautiful and spacious park. The location is great and it connects to the Baker Dog park & Gordon River Greenway. Whether you are just visiting or live here year round this park is a must go to spot!
The flag statue is gorgeous and the walkway is well maintained. Love coming here to take a stroll.
This is great place to take a leisurely stroll and some bird watching and natural Florida habitat. It has a small but interesting museum. Great fun for kids. Free
Love the trails, wildlife. Beautiful and connects to baker park.
Lovely park. Soothing greenery and walks where you can also rest on a bench and listen to the sounds of wind, birds and smell things that are in bloom. Watch for cottontail bunnies early in the morning when they open. Squirrels and morning doves. Ran across a couple that had seen a gator, but I didnt see one this time. The nature center is closed on Sundays but they have a board up there you can share what you saw that day. Public restrooms are clean and there are fountains at the nature center to refill your water bottle.Nice for walking on the west side with your dog. Just be watchful for Gators as you enjoy the park early in the morning; when they move from pond to pond.
Beautiful Oasis in the city! Right off of a busy highway, this park is a hidden gem! Gorgeous ponds and forests, boardwalks and paved pathways. Its facilities are clean and used frequently for activities. Its memorial is lovely and looks like theres a lot of thought but into building it.
Love this scenic walk. Great chance to see mother nature at its finest or just to walk around and escape....
Beautiful park. Nice paths.
Great place to get out, and enjoy the outdoors.
I was there for the National Flag day event and the venue is beautiful. Collier county veterans council did a great job. Thanks to all. I found the people at the park very friendly and helpful. I walked one of the lovely walkways. Very enjoyable.
Wonderful trails that are easy to walk and have super interpretive signage. However, the staff person was VERY UNPLEASANT. Dont expect any customer service.
Love to walk here. As a dog owner, I hate that people do not pick up after their dogs here.
My 3 year old loved it! Definitely going back.
The full name of this park is the Fred W. Coyle Freedom Park. In October of 2014 the park was named in honor of Fred Coyle, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, decorated Vietnam veteran, and outgoing county commissioner who was instrumental in the creation of the park. A decade before he pushed for the creation of the 50 acre park. Prior to his involvement this property had been left overgrown for decades. The western part of the property was neglected orange orchards that had been planted in the 1950s and 60s. Invasive species of plants such as melaleuca trees, and Brazilian pepper had taken over. The property was purchased by the South Florida Water management District with funds from the Florida Communities Trust on June 19, 200 for the purpose of creating a water filtration system that would clean the storm water where it enters the Gordon River which flows on to Naples Bay. To accomplish that goal four fresh water marshes were created in 2009. Native wetland plants were added that clean the water by taking out pollutants and heavy metals. Besides filtering the water the wetlands provides a refuge for birds such as great white herons, ibis, green herons, and great blue herons who forage for food in the marsh. Trails go around and cross over the marsh marsh so people can hike and bike for recreation. Along the way are signs that identify the native plants. The eastern 12.5 acres of the property, which is owned by Conservation Collier, is where the natural wetlands are located. While this property had large cypress trees, pond apple and mangroves, it too was heavily inundated with exotic plants. The invasive plants were removed and the wetlands were restored with native plants like flowering pickerel weed, swamp lily, Sagittaria and canna lily. Native plants are marked by plaques along the 3.500 foot boardwalk. Some of the plants plants act as larval host for native butterflies. Red shouldered hawks, barred owls, pileated woodpeckers, green herons, great blue herons, little blue herons, great white herons, racoons, gray squirrels, marsh rabbits, river otter, armadillos, alligators, turtles, snakes and frogs are some of the native wildlife that have been recorded in the park.Adjacent to the parking lot are restrooms and a 2500 square-foot education facility with restrooms and picnic area. The facility can be rented by Collier residents for private events. One of the most striking features of the park is the 9/11 memorial named the Freedom Memorial. Construction began on it in 2004 but was plagued by delays and the recession. Artist Gerald Ladue was picked in 2005 to design the memorial and a groundbreaking ceremony was held but by 2008 funds to build the memorial had dried up. For 10 years the large gray slab sat behind a fence. Naples mayor Jim Sorey jump started the project in 2014 and raised the 2 million dollars to finish it. It was finally dedicated in September of 2016. The memorial is a giant American Flag sits on a pedestal of a map of United States. Behind the flag are two steel bars from the World Trade Center. Along the back of the memorial there is a fountain, benches, and fifty state stones along the perimeter of the pentagon shaped walkway. This park is truly impressive. While cleaning the water flowing into the Gordon River it is providing a place of nature for people to enjoy. I saw people biking, hiking, picnicking, bird watching, taking pictures, and swinging in a hammock in one of the lookout pavilions. The Freedom Memorial is truly moving as it honors our first responders and the lives lost in the attacks on 9/11. This park is a continuation of the Gordon River Greenway across the street. Both parks are a nature lovers paradise.
Very nice park to explore
Very quiet and peaceful
Free place to walk in nature right in the heart of Naples! Just what I was looking for to get a little greenery in my life. My boyfriend and I went around 8:30 Saturday morning, and there were only a few other families there. You can definitely hear some road noise, but it is still peaceful hearing the sounds of the birds and insects. I would say about 1/3 of the trail is shaded from trees (at least in the morning when we were there), and they do have several shaded pavilions with benches to sit at. We spent about 45 minutes there, which was perfect as it started getting pretty warm out.
We absolutely loved our experience at Freedom Park. Ive never been somewhere with more informative workers or a more informative selection of park pamphlets. We loved the wildlife and the natural beauty of the park!
Very fun, River was beautiful! Kind of easy to get lost though
Pawfect!!
Excellent place to walk and observe nature.
Great place to walk and relax. Super friendly lady in the discovery centre told us about loads that we might see and was very helpful. Saw plenty of wildlife in the most peaceful setting.
Great place to just unwind and have a graceful day.
Very clean! Great place to walk and see nature.
Cool memorial flag wall.
Nice easy trail lots of birds and wild life to see
Its a great little nature trail in Naples, we enjoyed the walk around seeing many different things and its right in the city. The monuments is extremely well done. It made me proud to so how we honor and respect our past, good or bad.
Great location! Love a leisurely stroll, listening watching for anything; its that quiet. There are two great areas to stroll. 1) would be around the marshes. The other around the river if you have a Keen Eye, watch for the alligators!
Nice place to take a shaded walk and learn about the natural resources. Be advised that dogs ARE allowed, despite the signs that say otherwise. I inquired and was told that the signs are 10 years old and haven’t been removed since they began allowing dogs many years ago. My 2 well behaved small dogs loved it.
Beautiful clean park in Naples! The boardwalk is amazing. Theres also a really nice whiteboard you can post your findings in. The lakes are gorgeous very scenic :)
Normally, the largest creatures were see are the fish. Friday, we were joined by this beauty.
Enjoyed this city park boardwalk trail. Lots of wildlife viewing opportunities.
Hello Im a first responder from WTC 9/11, is one of the best places to go to relax and see somebody that post it or made a break for me all First Responders should come here and look at all the other First Responders that lost their lives or I sick because of terrorist attacks and disasters. I hope you guys find a spark as heartwarming like I do cuz Ive been fighting for 18 years with this illness but I still drive 38 miles to see my brick at somebody donate it for me. God bless everybody
This park is in a populated part of Naples but offers a lot of sights that are nothing but beautiful nature. Itsreclaimed as they call it, an attemp to restore an area with native vegetation and wildlife to give us an idea of what south Florida looked like before we paved it over. Cleverly designed boardwalk to get you into all the nooks and crannies of the wetland, and its altogether a great place to spend an hour or two. The only real drawback is traffic noise, since its at the confluence of two busy roads, but it is still very much worth visiting.
I didnt walk much of the park but what I saw of it was very well maintained
Nice park! 2 different trails to choose to walk. Its neat how they use run off water to make this place. Every time we go I notice something different. If you fish this is a great spot for you! All fishing is catch and release though. Have seen plenty of animals, bugs and birds here and even a snake so be on the lookout!
Quiet, calm. But I won’t take the dog there. Saw the snakes
What a wonderful park! Winding trails that lead to lookouts and bridges over water. Secluded spots to gaze or fish. Asphalt, boardwalk, and dirt paths. They packed a big punch in a relatively smaller park. Veterans Memorial is very well done.
Great place for a scenic walk...you never know what may fly in, or swim up!
You Got Check this Out Best Veterns park I have ever Seen Awesome Remembrance of 9/11
Beautiful place to walk. Fishing ponds for catch and release fun...look out for alligators. Paved walkways to the west, boardwalk to the east. Benches in sun and shade to take a break and enjoy the wildlife. The Freedom memorial is lovely and a great place for reflection and to honor our heroes.
Very clean. Benches around in shade areas
This place is huge.
My favorite place to walk. Two terrains. The boardwalk with its wetlands and the paved prairie. Lots of places to view wildlife. Just today we saw numerous brown bunnies, numerous birds, a black racer, and a squirl. Lucky us!
To all that have served, my deepest thank you for your service. You all are true heroes, my son as well, Career Army, in now for 23 years. Thanks Jason
Very nice and well kept. We saw birds, snakes, turtles and fish. My kids, ages 6 and 9, had a lot of fun looking for animals and enjoying the scenery.
Great park. Two routes. One deep into the shade of dense trees and the Gordon river. The other around the lake, lots of sun. Bring water.
Enjoyed the trails, plants, wildlife monument and the eagle scout project.
Awesome Park with very accessible trails... perfect for all ages. Natural, well conserved Wild life.... the luxury vegetation allow people protection from the sun.... Clear edges of the trail to have sight where you go. Signal with name for many of the native plants. Great Park.... No gate closed. So its wonderful to enjoy sunrise or Sunset.
Its a nice walking park. Does not allow bicycles.
Cool place for a quick visit! We even saw a gator!
Good walking
Lovely walking park, no play equipment for kids.
Very nice place to see and there is a trail you can walk. You will also see 3 beams from the world traed center from 9/11
Wonderful memorial and great place to walk.
We are planning a fund raiser Lupus walk in March. We chose Freedom Park. It has all that we need for our walk.
Wonderful park. Very pretty. Nice restroom.
Hidden treasure in Naples! Easily accessible from Golden Gate road at Goodlette-Frank. Walk through the Florida wilderness on well maintained board walks and paths with extruding view areas over the swamp and view up close the flora and fauna. The park is on land parcels previously owned by Naples famous names - Frank, Fleischmann, Briggs, ... as described on a history story board on one of the boardwalks. Park dedicated to war veterans. Restrooms provided in the central building and at the end of one of the trails. Enjoyable strolling, highly recommended, entrance free of charge.
Great place to walk Beautiful
Nice small museum. Substantial boardwalk trails with additional paved and gravel trails. Lots of wildlife. Also, a tremendous 9/11 memorial.
Nice boardwalk. Needs some animals
