The museum was easy to find. The staff were very friendly upon entering. The musuem is small inside, but the displays were informative. There are houses and structures outside that one could enter in. And the museum is free, but you can donate if wanted.

Exhibits very well put together, 5 acres in back of large items: tank, locomotive, boat, swamp buggy and more!

Glad we went. Its free and the 4th grade class I went with had fun. Its pretty small, and you could tell there were certain structures closed up for the day that would be cool to see when theyre open. I only saw one employee/volunteer when we first walked in. She was friendly and helpful. Its super low key. Probably good for a morning outing, but not a full-day type museum.

Small, but filled with lots of Collier County info, beginning with prehistory, Calusa & Seminole peoples, & up through 1960s. Nice outdoor area with historic structures & vehicles, and picnic tables. And its free!

Visited for FL story days. Remembered this was a field trip for kids when in school. Nice. The museum was interesting. Really liked reading old newspaper articles on hurricane Donna. Thought the taxidermied animals were cool, wish we still had the birds around! Rattlesnake skins beautiful and well done. Train for children to play in. If youre a tourist and have a rainy day this may interest adults for a morning. Walking path, old homes on property, information desk.

We have been going to this museum for years because they have lectures on Florida subjects at least weekly. Sometimes the museum staff is supplemented by guest lecturers. Always learn something. See the schedule online. The museum has a 5 acres of interesting exhibits including an old locomotive, a swamp buggy, a boat from the Keewaydin olden days, a taxidermy display and much more. Indoor has a display on old Florida. Well worth a visit and it is free.
