This was our first time attending. My family and I really enjoyed the experience. The only reason I took off one star, was because she gave us our stickers with a time on them before we signed our waivers. So, we lost a lot of time. We spoke with them at the counter about it and they cleared right up.
The place was great for the kids but let me tell you. The customer service there is awful. One girl in the back was great but the guy with the glasses that are supposed to help you with some of the courses, is a total Dbag. I asked for help and asked how he was doing and he rolled his eyes at me. Then just hooked my kid up and walked down the stairs and left. When I got there it quickly reminded me of the other reviews I read about the people that work there.
Great place for the kids! I took an 11 year old, 9 year old and 7 year old. All had a blast. A little too hard for the 5 year old though.
Amazing place! My kids loved every minute. From the 3yr. Old to the 20 yr. Old!
I loved this place, super coolFor kids to rock climb. Last time we went though, my daughters harness piece broke and my husband looked at the other harnesses and realized that most of them were clipped incorrectly and we actually made sure to tell the staff because luckily my daughter was on the ground when her clip broke but another kid could get seriously injured. Again place is super fun, just make sure you check the harness safety and are familiar with it before you send your kid up. Plus they said us adults could rock climb with them . When we rock climbed i had to downclimb because it felt as though the belay system would not hold me. So just make sure you know the safetyOf climbing before going there and double check the harnesses. Otherwise a fun place and cool idea!
I would’ve give a 0 if i could! We had a party last Tuesday and after it half of the kids at that party got sick with hand foot and mouth disease plus stomach flu! They do not clean i guess! Now with the curent situation they should clean more but unfortunately they dont!Parents be careful!
It was a good place to let the kids tire themselves out
My daughters and my niece really enjoyed Funtopia. They had a great time and the staff was awesome.
The kids had a lot of fun
FunTopia is awesome took my daughter niece and nephew, they had a blast we will definitely be coming back to this place in the near future, the only thing I should mention is all 3 of the children complained that the security harness was to tight and it made it painful to claim, 2 out of 3 of the children continued to claim while of of them felt to much discomfort that she just couldnt, on the plus side the employees are going around asking if everything is okay I did let her know what was happening and she talked to the manager and gave us a 1 hour pass for next time. tickets are about 18$ per child, and it goes by hour I believe, once paying they do make you watch a video that is about 1 minutes long and that video explains rules of the facility and how to claim ect. over all where willing to give it another try they did have fun and we did get a free pass for her hopefully next time her experience will be better.
Fun place for kids and adults who like climbing. I believe one can spend 2 hours max. Not much to do for small kids
Kids had lots of fun!
Great place for the kids to be adventurous. Kids have the option of various rock climbing walls. Theres also a ropes course and little ninja warrior course. Their harness and lock system is safe and a great way to transition to different activities. We made reservations and signed their waver online to help for a smoother process. One of the best things about the reserved time is the wait time for a specific activity is minimal. We really enjoyed it and we will be back again.
Its a neat place but our experience was definitely lacking. Staff seemed confused at check in. In general the staff running the different areas just didnt seem happy to be there. Many of the areas were not operating. Bought some bracelet that was supposed to track progress but never did work and the kids couldnt get anyone to assist them with it.
This place is great if you like wall climbing. It also has stuff to do that looks like a Ninja warrior course. Its not somewhere to bring your 5 and under kids. That younger area is not very fun and it cost $10 for age 4 and under.
My kids loved it. The place is bright and clean. Safety precautions are all in place where they should be. Would reccommend.
It’s a nice place for the kids to have fun, the toddler area is really clean and nice ! My 2 year old had a good time there, only complain was food. DO NOT buy food here, I figured why not order a hot dog and fries for my toddler and she can keep playing . Literally the order took 1 hour and 24 minutes, I went in during the weekday so it wasn’t busy at all and I went and checked for my food and the lady at the front desk said I was busy, but one of the workers is putting your food together sorry about that. I said no worries that’s fine . Well I didn’t mind stuff happens right, well the worker brought me my food 24 minutes later and the bread from the hot dog was so stale like it’s been there forever, the fries tasted old like they’ve been frozen forever . Trash . I paid 9$ for trashy food . McDonald’s would of been a better choice . I would not return again for that reason, what’s the point in being somewhere to play and the food is gross and there’s 3 workers no one there and they bring you stale food and pricy food.. I’m good. But if you want to just bring your kids to play for an hour or 2 that’s the place to go !
Cesar E is a great worker and very nice, very friendly and amazing personality.i suggest to give this man more money, the kids loved talking to him. When i ask him to switch out my child harnesses he did it with respect Great young man parents raised him well,i hope this man becomes something great . VERY NICEEEEEEEEE LOVE THIS DUDEEEEE
Amazing recommended. Cesar E. Is one of the best workers he was so nice with my kids he is a certified employee and knows what he is doing. #certifiedheatcheque #mom4lyfe
To start this off, front desk was very understanding and patient with us. I visited there with my daughters and wife. Weve never been rock climbing before and we asked for help a numerous amount of times but yet the staff was very friendly and patient . A girl named Stefaney helped us through right after we got done with the a video for the kids safety .The obstacles they have at the place can be tricky for the little ones but one of the other staff members I believe was named navea went with my daughter on the high ropes and she was then able to go again all by herself . I would highly recommend this place for a fun night with the family.
Pure chaos!! Employees do not seem to be thrilled to be there nor does there seems to be any kind of rules to be followed. Kids running in and out of areas and in the ninja area there was no guidance besides an employee that comes and goes but only points to a sign to show kids one way. Way to many children were in at one time trying to do the obstacles and literally stepping on other children who would fall. The lower bathroom by the 5 and under area is plan gross and the bathroom there has not been cleaned in days it seemed. Was very disappointed in our trip here.
Kylie halmon was super helpful setting up my daughters party. She was also training a new girl at the same time! I was very stressed out at the time being a dad planning to parties on the same day and she made it very very easy for me. Even offered a tour of where our party would be. Shes very nice to my kids and help me to get going as quickly as possible. Thanks for the help Kylie
Great for the kids and expectations were simple enough to keep them safe yet independent. Never had to wait for a wall to be available.
Nice place. Kids loved it until the got stuck on the rope course due to one part not working correctly and no worker was paying attention. The kids figured a way around it and then got stuck again waiting to be unlocked from the harness at the end cause nobody was working there. They stood there for 5 minutes while we had to grab someone with a key to unlock them. I think that workers should have stations that they monitor and arent all grouped up together with areas that kids needed help there was no one
This is the second time this year I am having horrible time with front desk at funtopia Naperville. The front desk representative has no customer service attitude. I am showing the filled waiver form for my daughter in my phone and she refuses to look into it and instead keep on insisting it that she couldn’t find in the system and asking me to fill it again at the kiosk. That’s exactly what happened last they ruined my daughter’s birthday asking me to fill up the waiver for all the 20 kids again and made all of us wait for 20 mins even though everyone filled it before. This time I refused and demanded to speak to the manager. He was immediately able to locate it in the system. Why is she not trained to look properly. The annoying thing was, in the whole process, she (front desk rep) was very rude in responding. Worst experience...
Safe good climbing fun. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable.
Great experience! My grandson loved it! He did different climbs and rope course. The safety harness worked really well and gave me peace of mind. An hour and a half flew by. Already planning on going back later this week!!
My kids loved it and adults can donit too
The quick check in process earned the kids a bonus 10 minutes of play. The staff were nice and helpful. Only negative was a gift card purchase. Options were only for $25 or $50, instead of 60 min, 90 min, or 2 hour session. Also had to give the name of who would sign the waiver-- how would I know which adult is going to bring the gift card holder? Just found it strange. Other than that, we had a great experience and had lots of fun!
Really fun place. Kids were thoroughly occupied for 2 hours and more! We also went there for a birthday party and their pizza is really good. Worth a visit again and again for sure.
My kids and I had a fabulous time! The staff was super helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and the climbing walls/ninja course provided different levels of challenges for our family. Would highly recommend this place!
My children had a wonderful time here! The employees were helpful and friendly. The facility was clean and nicely set up. The equipment was secure and easy to use. I would absolutely recommend this facility to all!
Kids loved it ... safe, healthy exercise, and wholesome fun
Sore after but fun.
Great place for kids and grown ups alike to put their climbing skills to the test
The place is great for kids as it’s combination of fun and exercise and kids love it. It’s cool! For the birthday party we ordered pizza and soda . Pizza was subpar and all melted .. server had to use hands to make pieces.Soda came once pizza was overThere was no knife for the cake.Paper plates were also coming in installments. Thanks
Just hosted my son’s bday party at Funtopia Naperville yesterday and I have to say was the worst experience ever. As a mom of 2 kids ages 6 and 9 I can say I have hosted and attended many parties at different venues and had never had such an experience. First, after you walk through the door on a busy Saturday afternoon they only have one girl as a cashier, creating a very long line. A lot of my guests were late because they were stuck in line without nobody from Funtopia around to let them know that they didn’t have to wait in line and tell them we’re to go. Second, the party room was HOT, apparently they don’t have air conditioning? Also, the room was rundown, the ceiling had obvious water damage, the sink was broken and there was a big piece of ripped off carpet on the counter. Third, I had a party for 21 children and I was provided with ONE hostess who seemed totally and completely OVERWHELMED. she walked in with like 10 harnesses so had to keep going back to get more. The process took a very long time, and this was time that turned out was included in the hour of play time so my kids only had 40 min instead of 60 min. I asked for more time and they agreed but by then they had already called the kids back to the party room a lot of the kids had returned and taken their harnesses off. The kids were asked to watch a tutorial video right before they go in the play area but the place was so loud no one heard anything. Fourth, she made us wait in the hot party room for like 10-15 min while she brought the pizza (wouldn’t it have been better to let the kids play a little longer if the pizza was gonna take so long????). Fifth, If I had known that they had no utensils to serve the pizza I would have happily brought some. The pizza Was not cut all the way through and they didn’t have anything to cut it or serve it with and our host would not help in the process either. Luckily some parents had stayed and they helped us rip off the pieces of pizza with our bare hands and with some plastic spoons/ forks (no, they don’t have plastic knifes either) and put them in plates and distribute them. Sixth, if you knew that I have a party with 21 kids why wouldn’t you bring enough plates and napkins from the get go?. She had to be coming back-and-forth bringing more plates and napkins every five minutes. She would bring like five plates and napkins at a time. It was ridiculous. Luckily I had brought some extra plates and napkins and we ended up using those because our hostess kept disappearing. What saved the day was that the ninja course and the climbing walls are actually awesome and the kids ended up having a lot of fun. My husband and I and the parents that stayed were all horrified at the terrible service and the heat in the party room but the kids had a great time. I can’t believe I spent about $550 on this party. Fist and last time!
Good place to play. Kids are really having fun
Had a great time!!!! Our kids are older but they absolutely loved it. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Kids had a blast here. Something for everyone. One of my kids is afraid of heights and the other one is fearless. Perfect for both of them to explore within their own comfort levels.
My child had a good time at a birthday party, but as a parent I feel this place has way too many safety hazards for me to return. Children are left to their own accord to strap harnesses into each climbing wall. The staff were just sitting and chatting with each other. They couldnt hear me calling them for help due to the noise factor. Also saw a couple kids fall in between netting and inflatable having much difficulty getting out. I love the idea of children getting all that wonderful exercise but there needs to be safety measures implemented. Also, we did walk away with rope burns and a bump on the nose from swinging apparatus.
We really enjoyed our time here. There are lots of different walls to climb as well as tires or ladders. We used a Groupon and it made it more affordable.
My children had so much fun here. Great place for children to climb on everything! The food is too expensive though!
The kids had a blast, it was our 12 year olds birthday. Very fun place and great for exerting energy and physical fitness. We used a groupon which saved us a lot on the entry fees. We will definitely go back again.
Nice place for kids. Arcade was clean. The play structure was really large. Only complaint is it was so extremely busy. There really should be a limit on how many kids can be there at one time for a place like this.
Place is very good. My daughter had fun. we took a groupon for one hour. Since it was our first visit I felt I spent a lot of time hooking and unhooking the rope for climbing. Hope next visit will be better.
First time visiting and everyone had so much fun! Great place for kids. Would definitely recommend it and go back.
Funtopia is a great addition to the area! I really enjoyed all of they’re 40+ walls to climb! It was quite cheap for a rock climbing place and it seems like the staff like to keep things clean at all times. The one thing that I wish the did more was explain how to hook the harness on the the wall at the beginning. Overall, this place is AMAZING!
This place was so fun. My 8yr old loved her birthday surprise. It was a lot for her to do. My husband and i climbed walls as well. I had my 3yr play in the toddler zone and he couldnt stay away.. must go back again
We brought our 3 kids, ages 5 through 10 and done out of town adult guests for a fun experience at Funtopia. Everyone enjoyed themselves, were challenged and are eager to come again. Thanks for a fun new way to entertain and push ourselves to try new things!
I took my daughters here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. They really enjoyed themselves. The staff was very nice and informative. The facility was clean. My girls cannot wait to go back.
My kids had a blast. Climbing fun for all ages and levels. Timed entry so it wasnt super crowded.
We had such a great time table Funtopia. My kids loved all the different rock climbing walls. Such a great way to burn off some energy! Remember to bring close toed shoes.
Kids love it, we go there a couple of times a year. A little pricey for what you get
We really enjoy visiting Funtopia. Very clean facilities and a lot of fun! If it’s your first time visiting, be sure to ask for a quick tutorial so you get the most out of your time. I did have one child at 35lbs., and although she had a great time, I’d caution against bringing little ones as the equipment does toss them around a bit.
Kids enjoyed all the activities! They loved it!
Staff was really friendly and helpful. It would be nice if all the ropes were staffed at all times but its okay.Best part is its easy enough to work the latches even for a six year old so he could just go climb to climb without help.
We had a fantastic time and we were a group of adults! We also purchased a pass for our 1 year old to go in the toddler area. My only complaint about that area is staff not monitoring all the kids going in. There were lots of kids going in the room to play who were over 4 years old which was very intimidating to the younger kids.
Fun climbing place for anyone over 48 inches tall. It also has a challenging obstacle course. 3 for hours. Hours fluctuate week to week, website and voicemail are incorrect. Must visit in person to get accurate hours, but they may change them the following. Tried to go 4 times but they were closed. Also 3 for starting times. They will only start you on the hour. If you are there at 4:05 they will start you at 5pm. Its lame. But still a fun place to climb and decent prices.
Great for older children! Clean and fun. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Their check in system needs a little work on busy days (winter break). But they did add extra time due to the long lines.
Place was fun and kept the kids active. However the staff was a bit on the snotty side. Not very welcoming or friendly
First time going there and my daughter had a blast!! It is so much fun for the kids! Not only does it make them push themselves to levels they would normally not take but also gives them the drive to do better and maybe concur some fears!! The staff was super friendly and willing to help whenever needed! We will definitely go back!
Everyone on the floor helping the kids were very nice and patient. And of course it was soooooo much fun!!! The kids loved it! Even the toddler room was a blast for my 3yr old.. the one hour session was the only downfall!! No one wanted to leave! So one hour was not enough time! We will go again and stay longer!
Very fun but a little pricy
Perfect for a 7-year-old. No wait times, even during spring break. Polite staff. Good variety of activity.
Funtopia is a great place to bring a family, geared towards ages 5 or 6 and up, emphasis on the up. My only complaint is the (pricey) birthday party package meal includes 2 slices of pizza per kid, and by slice they mean squares that are approximately 2 inches by 2 inches. It was no where near enough pizza for our group of 6-9 year old girls, especially after all of the physical activity prior.
My kids absolutely loved this place. I think my daughter is a natural rock climber.
My daughter had a good time, but it was difficult to find people to help us. No one took the initiative to see if we had what we needed or knew what to do. I had to go in search of staff members to help her get harnessed, then again to show her how to safely clip in to the climbing walls, again with questions about the Ninja course, and again when she wanted to go down the big slide. Everyone was friendly once we could find them, but it seems like these areas should have staff members assigned to them to answer questions.
My son loves this place! The issues I have is that there needs to be more comfortable seating for parents with maybe a couple of electrical outlets for electronic devices. Also, its FREEZING in there. I realize the kids are working up a sweat, but wow. Its SO cold! Next time Ill bring a coat! Lol! They need to have drinking fountains! All the other places like this have them. If you forget to bring your own water, you have to buy theirs. How convenient for them. At $16 for an hour, they should have some of these things. But overall, the place is fun for the kids, relatively clean, nice restrooms, etc. Would be fun to have a birthday party there.
The main course is always closed due to lack of staff and the ones who are there never smile. Very relaxed attitude of staff. I guess as long as customers keep coming nothing will change. Matter of time before word spreads and another business that becomes history.Wish there was a no stsr or negative star option.
So glad we discovered Funtopia! Our 7 year old went non-stop for 2+ hours. Plenty of activities for kids of all ages. Clean place and friendly staff. We had a great time, and cant wait to go back. We didnt see a multi-visit option, which would be a smart addition.
Funtopia was so much fun for our group of kids ages 5 to 13! Everything was very clean and safe. There was a climbing activity for every age and ability. We will definitely return!
The girls had a great time, they were shown how to independently enjoy the facility. Great for the entire family, play dates
10 yo and 6 yo had a lot of fun but both needed quite a bit of adult help getting clipped in the belays. A great workout! Would definitely go back.
Please train your staff to speak up, smile, and know how everything works. Staff that knows how to put on a harness properly and step up with struggling kids/parents attaching and detaching to the auto belays would have made our experience a lot better. Unfortunately the first experience we had was not the best and we will not be coming back.
My kids had a blast here. So much to climb on. All set up with autobelay. Next time I will have to climb also. If I had to nit pick 1 of the employees could of been more friendly, but we all have off days.
Like the American Ninja Warrior course, but would like it to not be quite so hard. Wish they would Summit climbing walls higher. Climbing ropes were fun, but I would like them to not have the height restriction at 5. Maybe 4 is appropriate.
My Niece had a birthday Party there last weekend, it was fabulous. However, it was very busy and chaotic. We were all ready to leave and could not manage to find anyone to take off our harnesses. Thankfully, we found a Brandi B. She was very helpful and didn’t hesitate to answer our questions. She even helped me nice get over her fear of heights, when it came to the Slide. Thanks Funtopia for a great time. My family & I will be back.
Fun place once you get past check-in! The kids had a blast!!! The only thing I would hope to see next time is someone to help explain how the harness works for first time visitors!
Great, fun atmosphere with plenty of different activities for the space allowed. Our birthday party Hostess Kylie was more thank helpful accommodating, Management was visible, seems like a well ran establishment. Heres to many more birthdays celebrate thereThankU
Overall the kids had fun, but I was not impressed. After waiting in line, I was THEN told I had to go fill out waivers at the kiosks (2 of the 3 weren’t working) and then get BACK in line. On a super busy day, there was only one person working the desk so it took awhile to get in. We went from having time for 1.5 hours to only 1 hour. The cost ($16) is super expensive for an hour of play. And kids who are under 50” can’t do 2 of the 3 main attractions yet they still pay the same price?!! We had to wait at least 10 minutes for ONE WORKER to strap in about 10 kids to heir harnesses and then give instructions. The walls themselves were pretty fun, but a bit repetitive. We sometimes had trouble getting the harness unlocked. My daughter (10) was able to try half of the high ropes course. She said it was ok but difficult without much to hold onto. She didn’t care for the Ninja Warrior course. Fun to try, but not worth all the hassles in my opinion. We would go back only if we had a deal.
It was very fun. I enjoyed it a lot.It gives kids great exercise and fun. It is even better when you spend time there with friends!
This venue provides a safe and challenging option for entertaining children from primary school-high school ages. The height minimum left my 7 year old with just the climbing walls, but there are so many of them that she stayed busy and happy for an hour and a half. The older two who were with us had a blast and all three of them cant wait to go back. The safety of the children is well planned for and the helpful staff stay watchful for the small problems new users might run into. I felt very comfortable with the staff and the safety practices. It is also a good value for the money!
Loved it, was great for kids but the wait and the quality of the food wasnt good. Not horrible but it wasnt good
It is run by young individuals who need servce training. My party was not in the system, I paid a deposit at the location a month ago and my party was not registered. I also completed the waiver at the location and my name was not found in order to settle my bill. It was one disaster followed by another. Party planning is terrible.
Unlike the Glenview location, this location does not have a play area for toddlers or children too young to climb on the walls or handle the ninja obstacle course. It’s a newer facility though and pretty clean. My kids did enjoy climbing the walls for an hour during a rainy day.
Definitely will be back. Kids had fun.
