I fished the old pier for many years it was my favorite in Myrtle. The new pier is really nice. It is different. Its not as wide and there is no shade. On the plus side: there are plenty of benches and sinks, the pilings are concrete. I think, they did a great job with the construction. I have not gotten snagged at all. They did a good job removing the debris from the old pier.I would give it 5 stars if they sold ice and blood worms!
Awesome view. Enjoyed early morning visit and late evening view. Only had to pay once! Staff at the pier was very kind and welcoming
Great to see back open. Brand new pier and very good location for great fishing. Very long pier with plenty of room to fish. All you need in the shop there to fish.
Nice view, but gets very crowded. Need to watch surroundings or you’ll get hit by fish hooks.
Ok... Should offer discounts for locals, emergency response, healthcare workers.... Just saying
Its a good place to fish.. not to crowded at this time...
The rebuild is nice however the Pavillion that provided shade is no longer there. Pricing went up to $12 fishing pass & $3 walking pass plus $5 to park. Seats are nice but uncomfortable. If that makes sense.
Enjoyable experience for me and my fiance. He loves to fish.
Beautiful sunrise. Clean beach. Pier is nice.
A little expensive for just a pier but its nice. Even though shark fishing is prohibited, a spinner shark got on my line just from squid bait, spun, and tore my line. Caught a bunch of whiteys and dog fish and saw some people catch a bit of large fish that look like needlefish. Gotta be patient at this place like freshwater.
I grew up on this pier being a native Myrtle Beach girl, Sprinmaid has always been my favor place to visit in the summer and Winter . Have missed those alls greatly snice the Hurricane Destroyed it ! Looking Forward to walking this great Pier again with my children and grandson !
Most beautiful stretch of beach on the Carolina strand. Springmaid Beach and Pier
Its just ok.....no cover out the end and no king fishing accommodations
Amazing pier!!! Ocean sounded amazing.
Beautiful pier! So spacious and serene!
Pay to enter? Sure its a nice Pier, but poor signage and borderline rude staff in the shop, that admits you to visit it.
Terrific views. Friendly staff
As far as piers go I reckon its an alright pier.
Amazing fishing family!
So glad to be back!!
Nice pier
Beautiful
Beautiful
Very pretty from a distance, but not friendly. Let the phone ring for 30 minutes. When we arrived the person responsible was not busy and ignoring the phone. Must park across the street, aka a block away. Admission charge, why? Bye, bye.
We were there for surf lessons...quiet and not crowded.
Great pier. Larger than I was expecting. Great place to fish or just to enjoy the view. It extends really far out into the Atlantic.
We were here for a convention and I was pleasantly surprised. An older hotel that doesnt look that great from the street but is beautiful on the ocean side. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast buffet wasnt bad. Its better the earlier in the morning you go (eggs not as dried out). Plenty of variety from waffles to made-to-order omelets. Free access to the pier was fantastic. I spent a morning just watching the locals fish. Hotel is located at the end of the airport runway so it is a bit noisy at times, but its also interesting to watch the planes come over the hotel so low. We went to St. Martins in the Caribbean to see that! Its a bit of a walk to some of the areas for handicapped people but it is very family friendly. The kiddie pool and lazy river at the Live Oak section are popular. Live Oak is probably best for families with young children. The elevators arent the cleanest and the room doors open to the outside which would not be convenient to arrive or depart during a rain storm. But the ocean view from every balcony is very nice.Located in South Myrtle which is older does not have the modern restaurants like North Myrtle but its not as crowded either. Check out the shopping area across Hwy 17! Brand new and awesome to walk around. We would definitely come back to this hotel if we plan another trip to Myrtle Beach.
I visit Myrtle Beach at least once a year and would always stop by this pier and enjoyed the fishing here and the restaurant. I hated to hear this pier was destroyed due to Hurricane Matthew. Hilton will rebuild it Ive read and I cannot wait to come back and visit.
The link takes me to Embassy suites not Springmaid pier, and all I want to know is; is the pier pet friendly?
Before Hurricane Matthew this place was a great place to go. They are rebuilding it, so be patient, I am sure it will be just as great!!!
It was an awesome place to fish, last hurricane wiped it out though. Barely anything left standing but a few supports sticking up out of the water.
Cant wait for them to get the pier fixed from hurricane Matthew.
Was nice before it got nocked down by storm. Was cool view.
The Springmaid is a local favprite spot. Even though the piers was half destroyed during our hurricane season, people still come and enjoy themselves
The pier was destroyed by hurricane Matthew last year. Still a beautiful beach and a good beach to find sharks teeth.
Very nice view. Not a bad place to pass time
Loved it went out on it every morning and watched locals fish
It was fun nice, but its gone its sould be built back tho
Great pier for fishing or walking. Awesome views of the beach
Was just there in March. Nice pier. Now its gone.
Was awesome until the storm took the pier away
Loved fishing at Springmaid Pier. So sad we lost her in Hurricane Matthew 10-8-2016
Love it people are so nice had a great time
It was closed, couldnt even walk out on the pier....sign said closed since Matthew.
Lots of shells and greatfor shark teeth hunting
Hurricane Matthew took half the pier but the restaurant is still open.

Theres nothing left to write a review on, I can say that prior to the hurricane this place was fantastic.

Uhhh...dont go here. Its gone from a hurricane
Damn shame its destroyed, Thanks HURRICANE MATTHEW.
The Weather Channel just said that Matthew has claimed 2/3 of the Pier..... so sad
