This park has nice paved trails for biking, walking and jogging. The park has a small lake at the entrance with benches and small brooks along the trails. We went bike riding there during the weekend and the trails are very peaceful, quiet and scenic. Some areas are shaded with trees while other areas are more open space. We rode for an hour and a half, taking breaks and sitting on the many benches along the trails to relax. Its a great area for a safe, family friendly ride.
I love this park it’s one of the best in the area. I’ve been going there for the past 15 years. I even took my friend and her family and they love it too.
I run here almost every weekend. It gets pretty packed after 9am but its a great place to run and leisurely ride a bike. You cant cut through fast because of all the pedestrian traffic but lots of bike groups meet up here and do road rides.
Nice place for hanging out. Fall colors are not yet ready here. Should be good by 31st of Oct 2020.
This is a great park that offers so many different activities. The paved path that goes through the woods is tremendous. Open fields, baseball field and bike paths to name a few features. I would highly recommend this park if you live in Morris County. An Annual 5k and Skeleton Run raises money for Childrens Hospital.
Great place for recreation, walking, running, biking on the paved and dirt/gravel paths. Lots of parking and Porta Pottys in the lot.
Lovely place to walk, bike, jog, walk your dog or bring your family as you stroll down shade and sun woodland paved path. Everyone said hi because we are all so happy to have the heatwave ending. Please remember to leash your dog. Thank you. Most owners very responsible and met so many new breed fur babies. No playground at the moment for young children.
Very good trails for bike rides. Good picnic point. Good place for kids for running and play.
I very much enjoy the number of beautiful walking paths and trails spread throughout the reservation. I love walking with the kids and taking in nature.
This is a great place for a family sunday. You can run, walk, skate, ride a bicicle or even a horse. The whole trail is very easy without hill. The view is peaceful and beautiful. I will recommend for anyone with kids that want to burn some energy before meal. You can also walk you dog (with leash). Definitely I will keep bringing my family each weekend.
7/4/20 Dear potential visitors, we all know what it is like to be young and in love, or old and in love, or significantly tolerated. But, could you please consider walking single file on our narrow paved paths. Save the hip hugging to where it will be far more appreciated and rewarding, in your domicile. Also, our great park employees dont appreciate having to pick up your dog waste. Just bagging and dropping is not nice, and almost everybody likes nice.
We went here for the first time. It was so good. Really a big hiking trail and very calm place for your walk. They even have a picnic kind of area near the lake. A very good experience.
Easy hike/bike. We got lost and had lots of fun with 8 yrs girls and and 12 yrs old boys. Hiked for about 3 hours. Beautiful lush, nice small creeks and lots of shed. Recommended!
Well maintained park with plenty of trails so you dont have to fear being run over by a car. No trash. Trails are free of debris.
Trail is good for walking, jogging etc. Best part is the cycling option. One can rent cycle and have nice cycling experience.
Came here to run with a friend. Was not disappointed. The paths are nice and are shadowed because of the trees which is a plus when the sun is out.
Nice easy one and a half mile paved trail, perfect for bikes and capable strollers. Lots of open space for flying kites and frisbees. A few baseball fields. A very nice area for recreation. Small playground that we did not try today.
I love this bike path. I’ve been going there for 20 years. However, because of the pandemic and the width of the paved paths, people should be bringing a face mask.A family of 3, 2 children and 1 woman,, passed me on their bikes with no mask. I had no where to go at this particular spot I was walking;Normally I would pull off to the woods. They were so close to me I could have touched them. Please post a sign for people to bring a face mask to the park in case they need to use it.Thanks.
The paths are smooth and even. Shaded and comfortable for both walking and biking. Beautiful park!
A peaceful haven in the middle of NJ.
Great place to cycle or walk. Shady, not too crowded
Fantastic park for walking, running, rollerblading, puppy walking etc.Superb for those never hiked before looking to get started people.
Love this place go here 2 to 3 times a week
Great place for a walk.. aka non stress hike in the woods
Beautiful park, well maintained. Clean bathrooms with changing stations are a huge benefit.
I loved it the trails are easy.the forest are beautiful
A very smooth trail for families with children.
Beautiful park with alot of wildlife. We saw deer, fox, chipmunks, etc. Various trails, waterfalls and creeks were very visually appealing. It was very peaceful and pleasant.
Its a very nice place to go for a picnic, jogging and playing sports.
My weekly running place, so nice to have a beautiful shaded park for running walking picnicing
Amazing park in the area. Reminds me where I grew up in West Jersey. Great paths for running and biking
So fun, great for kids and adults. Keep an eye out for giant snapping turtles!
An absolutely beautiful area with miles of walking trails through and around the woods. A very peaceful setting that is so easy to get to. Its hard to believe your just minutes away from major highways. The area is extremely well kept and the trails are groomed. Would be ideal for cross country skiing in the winter as well.
Beautiful, quiet, and above all else, clean. Great place to bike, walk, or run. Picnic tables and benches throughout.
This place is usually pretty packed when it’s nice out. It has both paved and unpacked trails, restrooms throughout the park and I’ve never had an issue with foot or bike traffic while running there. Sometimes there will be some adult league soccer games or other outdoor events that I’ll sit by and watch after my runs. Take a look if you haven’t already!
Lots of parking and clean. Path is paved and taken care of.
We come here a couple times a week to longboard on the various trails and its amazing. Smooth, quiet and peaceful. They just implemented bike share and its livened up the area quite a bit.
Perfect for 5 mile walk! Shaded trail!
Love this place..nice & easy trail 6 miles done in 1hr & 24mints
Great place for a run, walk, or bike.
Very nice sized park with miles of paved paths and dozens of gravely paths. Perfect for biking if you are into a nice easy ride through heavily wooded areas. Not too many people when we went on a Sunday afternoon in August. Plenty of free parking and the perfect place to visit in the summer when the rest of the world is going south towards the beaches
Beautiful park, perfect to rent a bicycle and enjoy the ride
Perfect place for kids and adults..
Very scenic and a well maintained paved path withbenches to sit and relax... everyone in park I foundis very polite and friendly.bicycle you can get it on rent at the entrance. Plenty of free Parking.
Great place to get some exercise and fresh air.
Great for in nature.
A well maintained paved path with benches to sit and relax... It can get a bit busy with bicyclists, but I never feel crowded. Most everyone is pleasant and polite. Some even fish in the pond. Theres a small pavilion where groups often have gatherings. They recently added bicycle rentals at the entrances, which also appear to be well maintained. The parking seems adequate for the park... Ive never had any problem getting a spot.
Its amazing
Great place for biking with kids
Great park to walk (there are many walking trails ). Also a great park to ride bikes along the trailsYou can also ride bikes along the perimeter of the reservation and ride down to the great swamp.Hidden gem in Morristown
One of the best around!! Not only peaceful and beautiful but the trails around it are the best! One of our favorite.
Nice bike paths.
Nice place for jogging, running. Trail for biking. Lots of trees. Park, playground.
Amazing bike and walk trail ..
Nice trails for biking & walking
Nice bike trails partially covered by shade. Some small hills but not to challenging. Great for a weekend ride when you want enjoyable semi challenging exercise.
Fabulous paved trails and some off road. A family favourite!
Nice park. Took a ride on the horses a beautiful day
What a wonderful experience, I will definitely come back in the future with my own bike this time.
Very nice pony rides for kids
Great walking paths and picnic area.
Greatest park in the world great trails for jogging walking or biking. Very peaceful very Zen. Not sure exactly but Theres a 3, 5& 10 mile trail
I recently bought a trek road cycling type bike and thought, oh, I know how to ride a bike-bike, how hard can it this be? Psht, I fell over the handlebars and into the neighbors shrubs because of a sidewalk crack. Luckily though, Loantaka has super smooth and fairly wide trails to practice riding this dang uncomfortable bike. Love this park but the bike has got to go...
Nice kids friendly bike trail
Peaceful, paved; feels like you’re deep within a forest. When the leaves change colors it’s spectacular!
The okay is great for biking. You can also went a bike there is your dont have yours work you.
A terrific location in town, it was clean and had beautiful views along the paths. A refreshing way to spend some time forest bathing.
Nice place but there is high bicycle traffic so if you are going with small kids you need to be more careful
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL PLACE BIKE TRAILS WALKING TRAILS, LAKES PONDS MUST BE INCREDIBLE SPRING AN SUMMER
It was a New Jersey landfill from probably an early 20th century rubber mill
It has really nice trails through the woods for taking young children on bike rides. They are paved and not hilly. There are also easy unpaved trails
Great for a quick easy walk. There are bike rentals available on either side of the trail. Its not incredibly scenic but its still a nice way to get outside for a bit.
This is a great little gem on the outskirts of Morristown. Great for walking, running and gentle cycling even some gentle off road cycling. Not for the serious road cyclist as the park is a great amenity for small children and people with dogs so care must be taken to avoid accidents. But whether you are testing your stamina on a walk or run, or just out for a safe lunchtime stroll, this is the place for you.
Nice well maintained park with great walking trails. The playground still hasnt been rebuilt yet though. Stay on the pavement though if its wet out, some of the dirt trails can get pretty muddy..
Nicest Park to go for a walk
Nice scenery. Enjoy the fresh air. Everyone needs a break from life, even if its only for a minute. Give it a try I promise it will be worth it.
Friendly atmosphere, fresh air, can easily spend 3 to 4 hours walking or in bike
Good place for walk and bicycle nice place
Stopped in since we got hungry and justHad one entree which was tasty and the staff was very accommodating.
Go for a walk, run or a bike ride. Bring the family. Tons of great trails that extend into Chatham to get some good mileage if needed.
Great place for a stroll or a bike ride. Gets a lot of foot traffic during peak times. Watch out for poop. Especially on the hourse trails. Waiting for the playground to be rebuilt. Bike rentals available.
Paved paths in the shade, great for biking with the kids. Lots of parking, bathrooms and open space. Will definitely go back.
Place is very well maintained.. paths great reservation seem to have several different climates..Trails are good for horses and biking..
Nice trails, they build a new playground.
Nice walking paths. I umpired there and field is short and has a hill in the outfield and not suitable for softball
Great walking and bike paths
Went on a Sunday before lunchParking was ampleThere was a bike rental with affordable rental ratesThe bike path is clean and maintained properlyWalkable trails
This is a really nice park to walk or bike. They have bike share kiosks at the South Street parking lot, Kitchell parking lot, and Loantaka Way parking lot. Its heavily used so you have to look out for strollers, joggers, dog walkers, and little kids. Its still a nice ride/walk and youre likely to see a variety of birds, ducks, geese, and cranes. They are used to human presence and you can usually get close enough to quietly observe/take pics (though Im not dumb enough to try that with the geese). Ive spotted some turtles and frogs, as well. The Kitchell parking lot is the best place to stop and relax with a nice pond and lots of tables and benches.
Easy flat walk on mostly paved surface. Good for kids learning to ride their bike or scooter. Not the most interesting of walks compared to the great swamp or watchung reservation. Popular with lots of walkers, runners and dog walkers.
Nice trails
Beutiful and quiet trail. Lots of nature
Nice paved path for walking, running, or biking. Horses are allowed on the parallel dirt paths and leave quite a mess so be careful.
Hidden gem of morristown, quiet, serene, east walk path, equestrian trail, baseball, soccer, plenty of parking, lake and pond, fishing and 2 miles from download morristown theatre and hundreds of restaurants
Fantastic for easy biking, a great place to take your kid for a bike ride.
