A great view to the east. You are well above the treetops. On a autumn day, very relaxing. Bring your own chair. There is only one park bench. No restroom or porta john. I havent hiked them but there are trails for that. It is a good place to chill. Read a book, listen to music just have a chat. Also the history of the place is explained on several signs. I like being that close to history. I would have given it 5 stars but you cant the city from there. Still its a good outing for locals.

Very peaceful, quiet, small and historic place on a mountain overlooking Morristown and beyond. There is a trail but I havent been on it. A historic cannon with historical information. A picnic table or two and a park bench.

Nice place with a nice view. Theres not much to see, I would recommend the place only if you want to relax, perhaps a little picnic, 2-4 people and thats it.

Its a short drive up the hill to Fort Nonsense. There isnt much of a fort left, this former earthwork fort had a strategic view over the city but never saw any action. Some called it fort Nonsense as an effort to just keep the troops busy. The fort walls are marked in cobblestone in the ground giving you an idea of the size of the fort. It was pretty small.

Its actual nonsense fort. We were the only one over there. Its scary to be alone at such lonely place. You get to see good view of the city.

Beautiful, peaceful overlook and fascinating historical location. As in much of the northeast, another picturesque revolutionary war locale with great views and picnicking.

Hmn well you drive up a lon road and you see a hill and then well thsts it. The views of the city are great but overall not much to see. There is a no fort just some brick outline of where it used to be and forest. I suggest driving because its a steep hill and unless you enjoy climbing most of your trip will be spent on that.

Incredible views. Great perspective on how long distance communication worked before electricity was harnessed. Not developed. No services like restrooms. Excellent and informative signage and historical markers.

Expected a fort. There was no fort. Lived up to its name. 5 stars.

I love this place. I would highly recommend finding a way to see a sunrise here as it is truly breathtaking. There is not much to see but there is a single trail that starts near the entrance sign and goes up to the top of the hill which I use for sprint workouts occasionally. The small amount of history on the placards at the top of the hill are interesting and mention the use of fire towers during the revolutionary war. If youre doing a historical tour of Morristown make sure to make a quick stop here.

Great view and that is obviously why Washington picked this spot as a lookout. But, beyond that not much up here. Still worth a visit if you are in the area.

Most of the Revolutionary War battles were fought in New Jersey. George Washington built this fort to defend Morristown but the Brits never attacked the area.

A very nice, free park to which one can drive, bike, walk, or run. Amazing views and great historical information about Morristown & the American Revolution. If you’re going to be in Morristown, I would recommend taking a trip up here in the morning or evening. It can get quite hot in the summer because there are parts with limited tree coverage but that makes it easier to see the Morristown landscape.
