Our first live escape experience. The staff was friendly. She gave us a hint or two periodically while we were in the room. We did the mummys tomb one. We had a great time even though we didnt solve it. Worth the 45 min drive from Stockton.

Escape Modesto was awesome! I took my family there on a Friday night. I was super impressed with how well the designers thought out the CSI room. I’m super excited to head back and check out a few of the other rooms.

To be honest Ive had been to other escape rooms this one is very clean the people that hosted a very nice the room is well-maintained and honestly it doesnt feel like Im going to be killed because of the area that the escape room is located

Went here for my birthday with a party of 8! We did the King Tut room and had a blast. The room was well put together with a lot of puzzles to do. Gave enough puzzles for everyone to participate. The host was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return to try other rooms! Thanks for the wonderful experience!

They do a good job and the escape rooms themselves are pretty difficult. They just never really rotate them out so once you completed one you dont really want to go back very often.

I liked the place Judy not the employee we worked with. She was lazy and inattentive. She shortened our time because we werent there 15 minutes early. We were there early just not 15 minutes. No one told us to arrive early when we made our reservations. I think she just wanted to go home early.

Logic math puzzles to solve and some red herrings that just didnt make sense.

Fun to do for a one hour getaway with your friends. Casual clothing, must be there on time.

We did the Egyptian themed room. It was alot of fun. I think they could do a little more with the decorations though. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible. We made it out with 1 minute to spare.

Was visiting from Houston and decided to try Escape Modesto. Staff was excellent, friendly, enthusiastic and only as helpful as we wanted. Was pleasantly surprised at the puzzle designs. Most were challenging but not impossible. Did 2 rooms in 2 days. Had a very good time. Got paired up with smaller groups which does impact game play a bit. Would recommend assembling enough people to make your own group to fill the room. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because of difficulty of a couple math problems in the Tut room and I am used to rooms with multiple immersive rooms connected together but only accessible once you complete some puzzles and then items between rooms begin to come together. Overall this is a good, fun group experience which will challenge your wits and teamwork.

I went here for my 17th birthday with a few friends. Its a must-do in Modesto! I did the jail break one, and it was very fun, even though we didnt win! The guy who explained everything did a great job!

This was AMAZING!!!! We took all 6 of us and joined another couple for one hour of puzzle solving fun! The guide was just helpful enough to keep us moving forward and we were able to escape! We are already planning our next trip back!! :)

This place is awesome. We did the King Tut room and got out with 6 min to spare! I thought almost everyone escaped fairly easily but it was actually really a challenge and took all 9 of us to figure it out.Just went back to do the prison break room! It was even more challenging. It was super fun and this one had a twist with some of us being handcuffed to the wall! I highly recommend this as a fun family activity or a team bonding experience for a business!

Came to ESCAPE Modesto with a group of friends and we all had a great time! The booking process on their website was easy and user friendly. Arriving there, we had an amazing experience with the staff and found the place to be very clean and professional. The escape room itself was a lot of fun and well thought out! We loved that the location was downtown so we were able to grab dinner before and go out after to discuss our experience. All of their concepts are originally made, it challenges you to think on your toes and work together, such a great new addition in downtown Modesto. A MUST try if you are in the area. This is definitely the type of business a city like Modesto needs! It brings people together while having a great time challenging the mind. The jail cell was pretty authentic and simple looking so I thought it would be easy but it was definitely not. We unfortunately did not complete the challenge in time which left me thirsty for more. I was very impressed with Escape Modesto and will definitely recommend it to my friends in the future. My wife and I, along with a few friends, booked the King Tut room and we had a blast. The booking process went smooth, the staff was very accommodating; the whole experience was a great night out and we all left eager to try another room. A big plus for us was the location too. After escaping, you have the downtown bars and restaurants to enjoy. All in all, escape modesto is a great time out!

So my daughter Katie Easley went to one of these rooms with a group of friends when it first opened and she loved it so much. So much in fact that she decided to apply to work there. So as part of her interview process she had to do one of the rooms so I decided to do one with her. It was so much fun and I was so proud of her to see her as a leader in the group we had of strangers just in her interview process. Now she has grown to be one of the best employees the company has. I constantly hear great things from others about how friendly and personable she is to the groups. I’m very proud and if you do plan on going to escape Modesto please go in Katie Easley is working because she’s so friendly and fun!

The staff is well organized and know the rooms well to assist with clues. The rooms are challenging without being frustrating. All of the locks and puzzles in the room function as they are supposed to.

This was a lot of fun, best fit for a group that can take up the whole 10 spaces so you all know each other and can work together better. A good mix of strengths is important... youll definitely need creativity and some math skills! We did King Tuts Tomb and escaped with some time to spare. I held back on my stars just because there were several times during the hour that only a couple people really could work on something, so for those who werent helping at that time, there was some dead space. In that regard, 10 people feels like a lot to solve this, but you also never know when youll need that extra brain!

Decided to go with some friends today and it was a blast! At first i was a little reluctant to spend $20 dollars on this, and i was telling myself this was a bad idea. However, at the end it was so much fun i didnt care, id drop another 20! I cannot wait to see what the owners create next and i for sure will be dropping by again. It was a great original experience and a great first for me! Thanks!

Weve done four escape rooms as a group, two in Sacramento and two at ESCAPE Modesto. We did the King Tuts Treasure and CSI:Modesto rooms on separate days in December 2017.Escape Rooms are a blast, great fun for friends, family, and team building. We did one Escape as a Christmas gift to family and friends. Everyone had a great time and are ready to try another Escape Room soon.Pros:The rooms are themed and decorated well. Especially the King Tut room with the Egyptian theme. It contains a sarcophagus, mummy, obelisk and other props.The staff is friendly and helpful. They will provide hints during the escape if desired. They are there to help and do a good job of making sure the group is having a good time and does not get stuck on one problem.Cons and Suggestions for Improvement:Red Herrings. Both rooms contained a few red herrings with puzzles and clues intended to keep players occupied and provide props but did not further the escape or provide useful information. In my reading up on escape rooms it is not typical to include red herrings.A majority of the puzzles in both rooms revolved around math and numbers. It got a little monotonous by the end of the second room in comparison to others we have done. We have done other rooms that included more abstract problem solving including colors, smells, musical notes, etc. Would love to see future rooms incorporate a wider variety of puzzles.The number of puzzles to be solved at a given time was usually limited to just a few. With up to 10 people allowed in each escape it would be nice to have more problems to work on simultaneously.There was no scoring system to rank how you did overall if you escape (we escaped both rooms with just under 6 minutes remaining). The rooms we did in Sacramento have score boards for monthly and all-time best room completions with results limited to teams taking 3 hints or less. This would be a nice addition to Escape Modesto.You need to wait outside for a staff member to let you inside before your designated time. While not a major deterrent, it would be nice if there was an indoor waiting area.Overall we had a blast doing the King Tut room and decided to come back and try CSI. I would recommend the King Tut room for first timers.

Made all the more enjoyable because our brilliant DMC crew crushed it in the Tomb of King Tut; we had a blast solving riddles, searching for clues, deciphering codes, and piecing together puzzles - all with a ticking clock to beat.

We failed :( But well be back to try again!Booked the room w/ my wife and 4 other couples, so we had a full compliment of 10 people. We were of course sure we would kill it and make it out, turns out its a lot harder than you think its going to be. But a fun time was had by all, and we intend to try a different room very soon.

Its Friday, date night, my girlfriend and I were debating on what to do, and we came across Escape Modesto on Yelp. We wanted to to do something we hadnt done before. We got on the website and it was very user friendly, and we were able to book our tickets immediately. There were no other participants for the time we picked so the owner contacted us and accommodated us to join a group. When we arrived, the staff was friendly, wonderful, and informative about the Escape Modesto rules and experience. The Jail Break Room was challenging and encouraged our group of ten to work together as a team to try to break the code. The room was very well designed and made you feel as if you were in a real jail cell and booking area. We would rate this place a 10 if we could, and we cant wait to go back and try to escape the other rooms!

Great experience, it was harder than I expected and although we did not finish we all had a great time.

We had a great time!! We had the Prison Break room. It was a lot harder than I expected and we needed three clues to finish but we made it out in 57 minutes and 44 seconds.It took us awhile to jell as a team but once we got on a roll it started to make sense.We did it tonight and the employee (Im terrible with names) that directed us was great. Great sense of humor and very clear instructions.Looking forward to trying the CSI room next!!
