I remember when I was a young teen, we would visit this site religiously every Friday night. Now that they are the only theatre in the South Alabama area that is open in the South Alabama area due to the ongoing pandemic. They are featuring classic movies such as, Star Wars Episode V, Back to the Future, along with some new releases. Honestly this doesn’t bother me one bit! My family hopes they will present Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas in the near future. The facility was very clean and offered disinfecting wipes at the entrances and various locations inside the building. I was able to purchase my tickets on my phone via the AMC Mobile app, so the entire visit was basically touchless with the exception of planting myself in the updated seating. The theatre wasn’t busy and felt almost like home except for the enormous screen and blaring Dolby digital audio. I did thoroughly enjoy my visit to the “Entertainment Plaza” I couldn’t help but think at the current rate of patrons, movie theaters will soon become a thing of the past. This is why I chose to describe what this venue could be in the future as an “Entertainment Plaza.” I’m talking about current and past titles, cannabis and alcohol bar, smoking/vaping and non, segregated areas. Possibly even online gaming events. It’s fabulous place in a bustling location that I would hate to see replaced with subsidized living quarters. You can be a pioneer of the future or be forgotten in the sands of time.
We stopped in on a rainy Thursday for a movie since our other activities were washed out. We arrived for the 5:15 movie, with tickets pre-purchased. We encountered a small delay at the concession stand, where paper tickets had to be printed and concessions provided. There was some confusion among the staff concerning a manual ticket-checking process elsewhere in the theatre, and also the location of 3-D glasses. It was all sorted in time for us to be seated just after previews began -- which meant another 15 minutes before the movie start. Theatre was clean and the seats very comfortable.
Went to see Tenet. Was a great movie. Employees were not that helpful as I navigated my way through the front of the theater. Still getting adjusted to being reopened. Should be better by my next visit
AMC on Schillinger Rd. is open!Theres only a few movies to choose from right now, but thats just fine with me. We saw Unhinged.. it was great!
I love this place! Its is absolutely a favorite experience if mine with the A List Stubs Rewards with which you get 3 movies PER WEEK for around $21 a month with tax included. The occasional free popcorn and sodas from reward points make it even more enjoyable.
Actually nice to go to the theater without it being crowded. They have changed alot. I do hope it gets back to normal soon.
Great comfortable seating, reclining seats with foot rest
Nice and clean but prices are way too high
Its great to get to go the movies again!! Love AMC
Its a large theater with many movie times and selections. Great place to go watch a movie but the seats are not the best. Most updated theaters have the fancy electric reclining seats but this one doesnt so if thats what your looking for I wouldnt suggest coming here. Overall this place is nice and clean with cheap movies on Tuesday.
Had a good time. Way better than it use to be. Not a lot of young people just hanging around. Clean and staff was nice. Was some young people talking and kept walking during the movie but it was tolerable.
Fantastic service! A bit pricey on food and drinks, but what theater isnt? Im a Premier member, so the lines are pretty much non-existent for me. I love this theater, and visit every chance I get!
Very clean and nice set up.
Very nice! But expensive
Good place to see a movie. Comfortable seating and good snacks. I normally need a blanket because its too cold. The temp was just right.
Its a decent theatre. Clean and well kept. Only truoble we had were that people were not informed of seat reservations when your order tickets online. The workers need to inform the audience of this to make it smoother.
What can I say. I like movies. Lol
This was my first time visiting this location... While I was on vacation I couldn’t understand when&what time exactly my movie was showing,No Body knew what was going on.Employees we’re blaming Google for mixing up the Movie times for “Queen&Slim” actual showtime.Me&My wife had to show the employee at the front door that the show time online is displayed on their site&we didn’t get any show time from Google. We couldn’t purchase the movie tickets at the box Office, instead tickets were being purchased at the concession stand Delaying time.It was a disaster.”NOBODY HAD ON THEIR THINKING CAP” We enjoyed the movie, but they need to do better&be more organized in the future.
Went for a girls night and had so much fun. Week days re the best days to go because its not so busy. Only thing I would say is the prices for food and drinks are a little high but besides that its a great movie theater.
My wife, son and myself in theater only. Clean and hand sanitizer stations all over the place.
There are several movie theaters in the area. This is our personal favorite. They have some showings that are reserved seating which is nice for when you are going with a group. If you pay for the yearly Premier option, it basically serves as a fast pass like at an amusement park where you go through a faster line. Theaters have stadium seating. They have done really well at keeping it nice.
Pretty clean and well kept but every once or twice a year when there is a problem, the staff, especially this loud mouthed lady ( who I havent seen in a few months...so maybe shes gone... hopefully) arent that helpful. Its the sign of excellent customer service when real people have real problems, plus the staff just arent very friendly. They tolerate you at best. If that one lady is still there, she crosses over to condescending and verbally abusive.
The tickets and concessions are the same line. Unless you want to join their premiere club for $20/month. It completely defeats the purpose of purchasing your tickets ahead of time. You don’t avoid a ticket line to go to the concessions. Make sure you allot plenty of time to get concessions. I’ve learned my lesson. Other than that the theater itself is fine and the seats are great.
Love this theater. Very clean and staff is polite. We enjoy going to movies there. Love the perks of being a rewards member. Recommended.
Super cool. Went to see the viewing of the Knives Out movie a week early. Got a free poster and was actually the winner for the little contest they had. Wond this cool souvenir mug and had a good time. Excellent movie!
They really need some reclining seats. The seats are okay, but they arent that comfortable. Also, its like they needed more people at the front, it took awhile for us to finally get to the register. I like that you can finally pick your seats, thats super cool and awesome!
The movies were once an experience. While they have nice, clean spaces... The experience is gone. There used to be things to do in the lobby, to entertain you as you waited on time for your movie. Now, its just a crisp, clean lobby. You also now have to pick ur seat on a screen before you even go in the theater. It used to be fun to find the perfect seat. Where did all of this go? Friendly staff, clean lobby & theaters... But, where is the experience of the movie theater? Want crowds? Give people something to do.
The theater just doesnt really feel very welcoming, though it is clean. Ive never had assigned seating before.
Movie theater itself is fine. But the whole “premier member line” getting to the ticket counter before the normal line is terrible. My family and I waited while many others got to cut us in line because the teenager employees behind the counter were ignoring the “normal line”. I understand that the “premier” members are paying extra to be treated special, but the rest us are still paying the ridiculous prices. Thankfully we don’t see many movies in theaters. It’s just crazy to encounter this old school mentality of different “social classes and privileges” are still around in the movie theaters. I feel like we were treated like 2nd class citizens.
Place is so over priced and the line setup is ridiculous. 30 minutes in line when I pre ordered my tickets online. Only saving Grace is the theater is updated and seats are comfortable.
This was the most ridiculous setup to buy tickets and refreshments that I have ever experienced. Took over 45 mins.No help for any disability or elder people.I will not
Its a pretty nice theatre. Reclining chairs would make it a 5 star!
This theater has a lot of selections and times for movies. It is clean and well maintained.
Loved the theater, we took our grandchildren and they had a great time. Very comfortable seats and great snacks! We will come again!
The theater was pretty close to where we were and easy to find. There was plenty of parking and we able to get pretty close to the door. I liked that we were able to get our tickets inside at the concession stand. The attendant was enthusiastic and even helped us to get a discount. The theater was not crowded so we had a good choice of seats. The air conditioning was comfortable. We will come here again.
If youve ever been to any movie theater in your life this one is just about the same. Theater was clean, bathroom was clean, and popcorn was delicious. In the auditorium the sound and picture was great. Definitely my go-to theater. No frills. I could do with fewer commercials before the movie but maybe thats my fault for showing up early.
It is our go-to movie place but only because theres not many options. The chairs are only somewhat comfortable to sit in for hours, the arm rests are terrible, and its technically stadium seating but not really. I always bring a wet wipe for the chairs.Food selection is exactly what youd expect, except they changed the nacho cheese to the small dip jars, and theyre never hot hot like the machine so now I never order it. At least I save on that lol.Drink machines are always a disaster. Theres never enough people to sell concessions and tickets, so theres definitely not enough staff to clean properly either.Big pros though: now theyve adapted the seating selection and it is convenient that you dont have to stand in 2 separate lines if you want concessions.
I mean the prices are a little high, but thats the only possible complaint i could have. Seats are spacious and comfortable and popcorn is amazing. Its a great movie theater, bottom line.
Ive been going here for a few years now. I usually order tickets online, show up to the counter, they ask for the card I ordered them on, they scan it, and hand me my ticket. That apparently changed recently. Went here tonight, now they are asking for the code from the online purchase, the code Ive never needed, and didnt have on me. No code, no ticket, no refund. I guess I missed the memo on this new change. Now Im out $15 and no movie to show for it. That is the last time I go to any AMC theater.
Was warm and line was a little slow but was great otherwise.
The Theater was hot. I asked them to please turn the air on they did not. People talking and on cell phones the whole time. No one even monitors the theaters. Im Done. I will go to another theater from now on.
Had to wait in line for 15 minutes to get a ticket. Only had 2 cashiers. They were definitely not prepared for the crowd. Poor Management. The theater stunk. Nasty smell and was not clean. Had kids running around during the movie and talking which was very disturbing. The restroom stunk like 2 week old urine. Nasty. Dont know when the last time it was cleaned.
We had a great time. We have the AMC Rewards and I havent noticed the fast lane moving any faster but other than that it was great. We always enjoy seeing Miss Elizabeth taking tickets...we love her! Make sure you stop by and get your picture made in the photo booth! I have a collection all over my house of our pictures since we dated, took kids to the movies and now taking the grands!
Very clean and the kids loved all of the choices of snacks to eat while there. Comfortable new seats. Clean theatre.
Worst experience ever at any theater. First its filthy, it was the 1st showing of the day. Second and most important is the fact that they have this new assigned seating and due to this people were shuffling the rows in chaos. Me and my children were forced to sit separately. Finally a nice family offered to move down so me and my kids were together. When I purchased the tickets the new process wasnt explained to use. nor is there any explanation for it posted in the lobby, that I saw. This isnt a concery venue, I arrived early with my family to get good seating. Not one person seemed happy or impressed. This is a joke. AMC fix this.
Nice place, service could use a little work though.
Quick service.. I suppose it is like most theaters now. You will need to raid your piggy bank or get a small loan if you want popcorn and a drink. I feel sorry for large families. I see why others in the theater concealed their own food here.
I always enjoy this theater. Its clean most of the time and they respond quickly to customer complaints. And with the rewards program, the prices are better than anywhere else.
Ordered our tickets online to watch Toy story. My daughter enjoyed it as well as I did. The seats are so comfortable and being that they rocked was an added bonus.
Nice clean and enjoyable place to go to see a movie. This is my new movie theater place to go. Plus its not to far from my house.
Lines are always long for block buster movie releases and they never have diet coke except in one machine and only butter in 1 station on each side. I find it very hard to believe they dont have money for diet coke and butter. I watch more movies there than anyone because i am on A+ List but this theater needs lots of improvements.
Dont like the assigned seating. Others were sharing their dislike. Ive come here for movies but it could be enough to make me go elsewhere. Other than that...good popcorn and snacks and service.
Best Theatre in the city by far. Super comfy seats, streamlined in and out paths, and clean
Great friendly staff. Various and wonderful food selection. Great variation of movie times
Theater is moderately maintained. Closed captioning devices almost always are a problem. Personnel are generally ok.
One of the best theatres in the area, but sometimes you get the unfortunate room and time of day where the sunlight will be extremely bright through under the emergency exit doors and it can be extremely distracting and pulls away from the movie. Rubber or brush edges on the bottom of the door would easily fix this.
I was buying tickets 4 two other people and it was a rated R movie. Since I was not going in they would not let me buy the tickets for them. It was ridiculous. I as the parent was giving them permission to see the scary movie but they said I had to go in with him. They are teenagers. They lost my business.
Theater is pretty nice and clean. As far as ticketing wise theres gotta be a better way or system to enforce the seating arrangement. It causes chaos when people sit in the wrong seat.
Came here to watch a movie, and they said they are now doing reserved seating!! Tried to have us sit in the Middle of others, strangers right on your arm, all in your space. This aint no damn concert hall. Aint no movie worth being uncomfortable the entire time. I couldnt believe it. This is the stupidest decision Ive ever seen made! So disappointed. Well never come here again! We turned and left, ruined our whole evening. Now that I think about it, the group in line in front of us left too. I didnt know why at the time, but I bet they didnt want to be told where to sit either. Us two left not spending the 50 bucks it cost, that group left with their money, aint no telling how much money is walking out over this cowboy bullS*. Infuriating..
Great time with my kids. Very clean
The idea of assigned seats in a general movie theater is just plain stupid. What were they thinking? What problem were they solving? NOT A SINGLE ONE. If anything, the just successfully created a new one. While we were waiting for our movie theater to be now seating, we saw several people ask for a manager and saying they had the wrong seats or either someone else was in their seats. It was honestly not something that was needed, how about dropping prices on concessions if you want to make a change. ASSIGNED SEATS = STUPID IDEA. Whoever came up with this idea should be fired if not already. Will be happy to pay more next time and go to Nexus or any place else.
Lion King was great I enjoyed watching it with my son.. He had the best time
Movie, seats, and staff were great could be cleaner though
I love the new reserved seating system! And the $5 Tuesday! This place is just getting better & better
My family and I arrived at 4:40 for our 4:45 showing of Frozen 2 tonight. We had purchased tickets in advance which shown as reserved seats when we purchased. When we entered the theater our seats were taken, so we just found 5 open seats, no problem. At 5:25 when the movie had already started a group arrived saying they had purchased and reserved the entire row. There were no groupings of 5 seats remaining except under the screen. We politely informed the other customers that we had been there for 40 minutes and the movie had begun. They left and came back with a manager named Jalesha.Jalesha informed me that we had to move and initially tried to divide our family between 2 sections and we refused. I asked if she would be reimbursing is for our tickets and she said no. I repeated that the movie was in progress and this was interrupting the experience of multiple patrons. Jalesha insisted that we could have had the guests in our seats removed if we had mentioned it earlier, but would not remove the guests that were sitting in ours at that time. Jalesha moved our family of 5 to 4 seats at the bottom of the theater seating area. 15 minutes into the film I had the flashlight on my phone activated to ensure we were leaving nothing behind scanning the seats and relocating my family.I would have been more than happy to accommodate the guests if they had arrived before the movie began or if they had guests there holding the seats they reserved. It was completely unacceptable to escalate this situation as it was during the film. Although Jalehsa did give us a set of passes after the movie it is a stain on our movie experience and probably others around us.Movies are a rare treat for my family and this one was tarnished. This affected not just my family but the rows around us that were interrupted by standing and talking guests, and management relocating people during the movie.
Pretty good.. the soda machines are always turned off in the theater portion.
They offer assigned seating which is nice, also the food isnt outrageously priced, so thats a plus. Pretty decent place.
Good place to go for a movie but Nexus is better
Its over priced and u have to choose ur seats before u go into the theater. Which makes it hard when ur with a group. But the seating is comfortable and if u want to waste quite a bit of money then its not that awful. But for a family of 4 be prepared to spend $100.
I always enjoy going to the theater. One thing that usually stops me is the price. Its good to know about there matinee Tuesdays. Way reasonable. Clean facility.
I regularly visit here. As an A List member, I enjoy the quick service! Always clean and the staff is for the most part friendly and helpful.
Went to see Toy Story 4 it was awesome, however I remember why I dont go to movies much the ticket prices are outrageous and so is popcorn and drink prices. What ever happened to the days when things were affordable.
Theater is always a little chilly but is kept clean and staff is friendly and professional.
I dont like the idea of having to have assigned seats. If I have friends that are meeting me at the movies, I want them to be able to sit with me.....thats the point of them meeting me to watch a movie together, not to sit across the theater from me because of assigned seats. Also as someone who is lawenforcement, I want to sit high where I can actually see everything that is going on, hence the reason for me getting to the theater early to sit where I want to sit. Will wait till the mo ie comes out on DVD for now on
Enjoyed the movie Hobbs & Shaw some employees was very happy and some was can this day be over already just the body language tells all but great theatre
Just a great place to see a movie a lot of choices fun night
Clean theatre, with reasonable prices. The service is very streamlined and they have a great selection. Ive never had a bad experience here. The wife and I frequent it. Comfortable seating, bring a light jacket if you get cold easy.
Very nice, clean chill atmosphere, pros doing there job, excellent experience.
This theatre is conveniently located across from San Miguel restaurant on Schillinger Blvd. Which is perfect for dinner and a movie (and a margarita or two)! They offer online sales so you can buy tickets in advance without having to wait in line. They also have a preferred membership that can be used for discounted food items and upgrades. They offer a good variety of menu items (try the flatbread pizza) and they have one of the new soda fountains with 100’s of choices. The theatre itself is clean, with standard seating. The staff is friendly and efficient but the restrooms need more attention as they are occasionally dirty. Overall I like this place and recommend it!
The theater is nice, but they need more active employees. Lately theres been way too many people talking and throwing stuff in every movie Ive gone to see
Pretty good movie and comfy seating. Wish I wouldve saved room for popcorn after dinner! Staff was pretty helpful
The theaters were large and easy to access
They have amazing service and are always on top of things!
Not a good experience. The millenial at the ticket and food counter was rude and when we picked our seats (5 in our family) we were not told that 3 of the seats were across the stairs and not next to each other-even though on the map it looks like they are. So we did not get to all sit together and it was just a bad experience all around.
They let toddlers and babies enter rated R movies. It kills the mood for the rest od the guests.Wont come back.
Very clean, very quick service.
I love this theater. Most of the employees have really good attitudes. Trae is a very hardworking young man. Always makes us feel welcome along with some of the other staff and managers.
Whats not to like? Comfy seats and gourmet popcorn and other good food.
Great atmosphere. Comfortable
Awesome place only down fall is they dont have captions for the hearing impaired.
Good audio effects. Moderate chilness in the theatre. Enjoyed
Movies are always great. The only issue I had was the popcorn was sooooo salty it burnt my mouth. We couldnt eat it. They said their boss demands it be made like that.
I love this theatre! Have seen some of the best movies in the last 2 years here.
Theater is in good shape. But the price for concessions is outrageous.Their going to price themselves out of business.
Terrible design mixing concessions with ticket sales. Even if you buy tickets online you have to wait on everyone else buying tickets because you want popcorn. I had electronic tickets but still took 40 minutes to get popcorn because of all the ticket sales in front of me. To add insult to injury, you can pay $20 a month and use the express lane. No thanks. I will go to Regal Cinemas at McGowan (by Costco) from now on.
It was a pretty clean environment. The movie quality was excellent. The seats were more home style and more comfortable than the old foldable theater chairs.
