Treated very poorly at clubhouse on Oct 2 at 1:30 pm. Encountered a very cantankerous elderly worker who should possibly look into anger management classes. Even the younger woman working along side him seemed embarrassed by his behavior. Was looking forward to a fun, fall afternoon with my 14 year old son who is a good golfer (I was going along to watch). Treated like we were trying to sneak onto a private course. Honestly, this course is so not worth the money. Terribly bumpy fairways. Poorly maintained course. They’re a little proud of what they have to offer. Had the crabby elder not been crabby I would have not written this but I felt like we were very unwanted. Don’t we want to keep the sport of golf going? Well, Hiawatha Golf Course, you can’t do that without passing the torch to the younger generation.

Booked a Solo 18, showed up for my Tee Time and the wouldn’t let me play solo. Guys working the club house had ZERO customer service or willingness to be flexible and make something work. Course is in nice shape and driving range is nice. Staff lacks problem solving and customer service skills. Just wanted to golf alone. I understand it’s busy and a weekend, but don’t make Solo Tee times available if they aren’t. Will probably golf else where the next few times.

Hiawatha Golf Course is located in beautiful South Minneapolis. The course is always in immaculate condition, especially the greens and practice area. The staff here are so friendly and very helpful. Hiawatha has several putting greens, a driving range and a wonderful practice area. Our group called the Onglers played here every Tuesday during this 2020 golf season and believe me the golf course was always in excellent condition. This is a public golf course that gets played by thousands of golfers every year. Never the less it is always in great condition. I have been playing this course since 1974, but this year during covid-19 was the most challenging. The clubhouse was closed so everyone was unable to buy a hotdogs, hamburger, or sandwich at the restaurant inside. I love this golf course so much. Finally, the entire staff at Hiawatha Golf Course worked so hard, keeping the course in outstanding condition so people like me could have a great golfing experience. Thank you so much Hiawatha Golf Course employees.

Great golf course. I like that there is an extra par 5 on the front nine as it feels like you get a little more golf on. Just the right amount of hazards to keep you on your toes.Con: the course is pretty low in elevation and so after significant rains or in the early spring, the course is very spongy in spots.

Played here yesterday for the first time ever. I play about 30 different courses per year and the conditions here were about the worst Ive seen at any course Ive played in Minnesota. Fairways are so rough you nearly get thrown out of the cart, greens had everything from random fishbowls to neat cornrows of unintentional depressions. Turf generally was mostly weeds. Some bunkers had been neglected and sent back to overgrown weed rough. Overall felt like a mowed cow pasture with a few random flag sticks.Staff was friendly and quick. I can see why the price is so low.I wont be back.

This is a very fun golf course to get out and try your best. We had such a great time there did not realize that this was a links style golf course until after the front 9. We thought that we were doing great nobody lost any balls and almost at par. Something must be wrong. Well what was wrong is that this is a very good golf course for anybody with a long drive good short game and great putting skills! This is a very good golf course for any style of golfer! #getoutngolf and tell em Tbone sent you!

This is a classic Golf Course. This golf course has been around for many many years. It is very unique and its own layout! The layout is a very classic links like layout. The greens were nice but fast the fairways were well maintained. Lot of par-fives that you can open up your drive to a grip it and rip it down the Fairway. Take your time on the greens because they were nice but they were fast doesnt need much to drop the ball in the cup! The facility was really nice clean and well maintenanced. The staff there was exceptionally nice and filling Us in on some information was very helpful and we got through that course without a problem not too far not too short just perfect. I highly recommend getting out there to play this course before its time is up rumors have it that they are losing 9 holes on this course so get out and enjoy it while you can! So grab some friends or the neighbor and get out and golf this course as soon as you can enjoy it and have fun. #getoutngolf and tell Em..TBone sent ya!

This is a great public golf course serving South Minneapolis. Range, practice facility, chipping greens. I learned how to play the game here as a kid and love playing here as an adult. The course isnt immaculate, but its fun. The holes are well designed and there is just enough trouble to keep it interesting. You can play a legit round of golf for a great price while staying in the city.Get out and play while you can. Only a few years left for the Lady Hiawatha.

Don’t recommend for casual golfers.Course is not well kept, they rush you to play too fast, one staff member was not very welcoming-we were told “this course is not for teaching.” The golfers in front of us tee’d off late, which made us late, which made the people behind us late and then we got chewed out by staff. We will not return.

They really need to work on this goat ranch. Phenomenal potential, poor execution. Certainly not worth the premium greens fees. Be prepared for wet bogs, untamed rough, irregular mowing and spotty bent grass.

Solid design of a very old course. The service & people that you meet are fantastic! Would give 5 stars if the Mpls Park Board Council would appropriate the proper funds to allow this course to become a viable business that would produce more revenue that could sustain regular maintenance & also support other park programs.

So nice to have this pocket of golf right downtown! I really like city courses and its set in a pretty, green neighborhood. My only comment is that sometimes the play is realllllyyy slow, it took us four hours to play nine holes; but it was late afternoon during peak season.I saw signs around the neighborhood that they might lose this course, as someone who just moved here, I hope they dont lose this course! Its a great addition downtown!

Great city course that has cheap twilight rates. Back nine was open for summer of 2016 which was great.Update 2017 - I wanted to note that the staff here at this course could not be nicer. They work very hard to accommodate everyone and get people out golfing. There was a little confusion during my last tee time, and they went out of their way to assist. I am so happy to have this course and people running it in my neighborhood.

The practice facilities are extremely helpful and the lessons I received there really helped my game. The course is in much better shape this year than last. One of the less expensive courses to play in the Minneapolis area but that may be due to the course conditions. Drainage is very poor, so if you happen to have a tee time that lands after a rainfall, youll probably lose your ball... In the fairway. The staff has always been great and again, cant really beat the cost to play 18 holes.
