Played here for years due to central location. Little has changed, clubhouse very dated, costs more than many better area courses. High volume due to location means poor conditions as season progresses. No more rangers. New carts, sanitizing but not cleaning so must clean mud from surfaces yourself. Require cart sharing with dirty plastic curtains you must install yourself, or pay double cart fee. One tee marker for both men and women. Good course for beginners as not difficult. My group has moved on.

This is one of my all time favorite courses. I used to work near here and I have golfed this course too many times to recall. It is difficult to top the convenience of the location! It’s always in good shape, not terribly long, but challenging and fun.

This used to be a very nice golf course; easily the best MPLS parks course. Not sure why but the conditions have deteriorated considerably in the past year or two. Many greens are inconsistent and choppy, fairways have sporadic dead blight patches, and there is compacted soil in areas just off the fairway or fringe. That said its still playable and is a fun layout. It would be great with a bit more care/budget.

Decent course. The fat man that works in the clubhouse is very rude and condescending to customers. Jerk to me and other patrons as well (not in my party) Not sure what his deal is. Little D perhaps.

Greens were slow and bumpy. No senior rates on Friday mornings and being charged $60 riding for a course that is average at best. There are to many other courses at $35 and in better shape!

Probably my favorite Mpls city course. Usually in the best shape of all of them. The greens were a little janky for July, but still nice.

Gross National is a really fun course with quite a bit of difficulty incorporated! For the most part it is a fairly short course! It is best if you can get out during the week here because the weekends are far too busy! Overall very enjoyable twin cities course! Definitely a must play if you’re in the area!

Had the MN Golf Card which the Ride-A-Round program says you get up to 4 rounds free after September 15.Cashier pmeier should probably retire since he has the customer service skills of a old, white guy. He didnt know what to do.He charged us (a twosome) $18 each for a cart. A $36 cart? He said that was the normal price? Really?Fun course but we wont be back till you have someone who knows how to treat people with respect and honesty.

Really nicely maintained golf course. Not punishing for the beginner golfer . Some holes were on the short side (par 5 #10 for example), and a couple holes with greens out of action and moved to fairway was a bit disappointing today. Overall, nice course and enjoyable round.

Played for the first time because of PCC and love this track! I’ll drive from Eden Prairie to play here regularly. Great to see the Minneapolis courses in good shape. Staff here is great too

Ma
Review №23

The course is consistantly in very good condition, a helpful point on the score card is suggested tees (blue, white, or gold, for men) one ought to play from according to your handicap. Get a tee time reservation, this course is popular & gets lots of play. The only draw-back is the location of the driving range, its quite a distance from the clubhouse

Gross just joined the PCC! Its always in really good condition. I played with a couple buddies first thing this morning and it was a fun round! Greens are true and good speed not overly fast. The tee boxes and fairways and greens are all very lush and green and in great shape. They have a shorter driving range not sure the distance cant hit a driver. The practice green is big, its a little ugly right now. Overall a great course the staff is on top of their game! Thanks for joining the PCC! Will definitely be playing more there!

Enjoyed my round. Played in the fall and wasnt too busy. The course looked great. Greens were very slow but smooth. Par 3s lacked yardage markers. Fun layout. The value is fair was something like $45 with a cart. Has potential with some minor upgrades (pro shop and improved snackbar/food?) Will play again.

We made a tee time for 2:24 on Friday 4/26/19. When we arrived we were cast aside at the pro shop so the attendant, Perry Thorvigson, could help his friends and regulars first. After playing the front 9 and getting ready to make the turn we saw a school team on the 10th tee. After going inside and speaking with Perry we were told to wait an unknown amount of time for them to finish. At no point between making the tee time and finishing the 9th hole were we informed about the school meet. When I called Dave Brantland to discuss the issue he said he really didn’t care if we had to wait because he wasn’t making any money off of us anyway.

Course was in fair condition, they often dont answer their phone, their manager hasnt returned my phone call after many messages left over multiple weeks, and their staff members are inept. Many other good options in town. Id avoid this place. 10/1/19 update: Manager was extremely rude and agreed to a refund a couple of weeks ago. He said it might take a couple of days - still nothing.

Love this course during the season but these simulators are horrible. Count about half the strokes. Unit was under reset 4 times and the unit we started on broke down, we quit after 11 holes and only had to pay $16each for the experience.Sorry guys, see you in the spring sometime.

I gave the course itself 4 stars, its a nice city course with plenty of scoring opportunities for even decent golfers. Big trees and you can hear the city noises as you play. However, I gave the management 1 star. Ive played this course 20+ times over the last few years and pace of play is consistently a problem (even on weekdays). If you dont have 5 hours to waste, then I would recommend going elsewhere. Playing as a single or a twosome here, you will undoubtedly run into slow paced groups out. Older men/women (lots of fivesomes!) love to play this course, which is great, but they have forgotten their golf etiquette. Letting fast groups play through is not common nature here, and the rangers do not monitor the pace of play or pause slow groups to let those behind them play through. Ive addressed the situation before and nothing has changed,. Ill gladly come back here and update my rating if I notice a consistent change in pace of play, but I believe they are set in their ways at this point and its unfortunate for a would be fun city course.

One of the reviews is from a few years ago when even a lot of the staff will admit the course was in rough shape. I just recently moved to the NE Minneapolis area and Gross is the closest and most affordable in the area. The staff at Gross has talked to customers about projects they have been doing and continue to do to improve the course.I have played the course about 12 times this year as early as April and now in late September and the course is in great shape. The tee-boxes, fairways, greens, and even the sandtraps and rough are all maintained well and have been for most of the season.I am usually able to get a tee time in the morning, afternoon and evenings during the week and on weekends without much hassle and pace of play is usually pretty casual and has a good flow. Its a great course for average/intermediate golfers and can have challenges for advanced golfers as well.
