Great art museum dedicated to the hard work of man. Almost seems like something from the USSR with all the hammers and sickles, but theres tons of beautiful paintings and sculptures. Only 5$ entry. Highly recommend

I went here a few weeks ago, but I wanted to review this place because I had such a fun time, and everything was phenomenal. I was passing by Milwaukee on my way to Niagara Falls, when my family decided to spend the day here. I am so happy that we did, because we visited this museum and it was astounding! The sculptures and paintings (We saw the men at work exhibit) were beautiful, and we got a nice book with information about art for free! The outdoor balcony area was great, too!

Very large museum. Bigger than I thought it would be. Certainly worth the $5 admission price. Unfortunately, the art withered away when we found the ducklings on the roof. Art Schmart. The ducks were the best part.

The museum is nice and has a nice collection of art. Unfortunately it has a glass elevator and glass atrium and stairs that go up along the glass atrium. Some might think that sounds pretty and it is unless you suffer from a fear of heights and get trapped in the elevator on the 3rd floor. We used the call button to get help which came pretty quickly but whatever they did caused the elevator to drop from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor VERY quickly. We didnt get any warning that the elevator was going to move much less drop so dramatically. This was pretty bad experience and when the doors were opened for us we were not greeted with an apology, explanation, or any sign of concern for our wellbeing. So it is a nice little museum but if you go there, take the stairs!

Spent an hour or so wandering the museum with a friend. Good location, only 5 admission and 3 floors of works. The art works are all around a certain kind of an industrial nature but good. Its a reasonably small space but an ideal way to spend a sunday afternoon

The Grohman gallery is one of Milwaukees best kept secret- my first encounter was a couple years ago - I was totally engaged in the exhibits- art relating to work- our city is so fortunate to have the school if engineering. Matc, & our legacy of the machine shop of the world, during WW2 as well as our tradition of being ahead of our times with all trades, whether steel, tanning, or beer.Im looking forward to seeing the current show honoring milwaukees contribution of the typewriter. The Nash. & more. You do an excellent job.

Staff is nice, hours can be kind of odd, and the roof garden is rarely open, but if it is, its a must see. The paintings are gorgeous, unfortunately some of the best ones are on display around campus, not in the museum. The temporary exhibits tend to be awesome as well.

One of my favorite Milwaukee art collections houses some offices of MSOE faculty. Theme of artwork exhibited is Men at Work, including professions ranging from farmers to physicians, ironworkers to glassblowers. Highlights are an entryway ceiling mural, mosaic floor and rooftop sculpture garden.

Awesome place, even better price.5 bucks and I got to see LOTS of sculptures and paintings. I got a quick rundown of the best way to explorer, was given a small book about it, and sent on my way. I started at the rooftop where the weather was nice and grass was green. Some great sculptures up there to see.Working my way down floor by floor, the museum is divided by theme. I enjoyed most of the pieces and got some really good pictures as well. I was alone, so I took my time and looked at each piece. If I am ever back in the area, I will definitely go back here and will be sure to bring anyone else who wants the experience too.

This is an amazing collection and museum! It is themed all about work through the centuries. The paintings and sculpture are depictions of things related to the trades. You will see many stunning pieces and it will take you a few hours to get through the 3 or 4 floors of it all. You will learn too. The roof has a sculpture garden as well which is a must see. On a nice day this would be a real treat of a trip!

This museum is unpublicized among the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area. The collector has amassed great works from around the globe. When I was there, the tour guide provided good insight as to how the works were acquired and who the collector was.Grohmann was chased out of Poland after World War 2 since his quarry was not seized by the Nazis. It is a great collection and I think more people should take advantage of it around the Milwaukee area.

Very friendly service, very interesting collection and a building worth touring just for the rooftop view. At a price of $5, its not asking too much. The museum has a large collection, which I found more interesting the higher up I went. I especially liked the old movies of steel casting and glass blowing. The collector Dr. Grohmann tended to collect mostly german artists with some dutch, belgian and american works mixed in. I could not help thinking it was too bad that other cultures / ethnicities that contributed to Milwaukees industrial past were not represented. But I get it, its a private collection, not a public one. And I am grateful it exists!I was also happy to take them up on free parking in the MSOE lot next door, also.
