I love Lafreniere Park...so very well kept and peaceful. The walking path is the best in the city with the views.... and the Christmas lights are great... it is also great as a venue. Outside. With masks.

Beautiful park that has a lot to offer. Long jogging track, stunning bird sanctuary, and plenty of spots for picnics and gatherings. Featured in quite a few cinemas, play parks for children and fields for various sports, theres not much you cant find here!

Excellent park to visit and spend time at. There are many scenic views to enjoy, a running path that is about two miles in length, several exercise stations, a splash pad, a playground, a snack shop that serves a variety of tasty treats, a merry-go-round, a bridge-boardwalk to view birds, turtles, and ducks, and plenty of grass to enjoy activities.

Great place to walk, take Amazing Sunsets and nature photos.Theres also a concession stand with lots of goodies.

Local Park that they are renovating and updating constantly. Great dog park with two separated areas where large dogs and small dogs are in a play area according to their size. 2 exercise areas and a walking path around the park. There are enclosed play areas for the kids and open soccer fields. They have a lot of features for the whole family. The East Bank residents pay on their utility bills a millage for upkeep of the park. It patrolled by park security and police officer ro make it a safe enviroment.

Love this park. Its well maintained at all times. We look forward to the Christmas lights display every year.

Great park, the disc golf course is really good. Variation in height, some good obstacles (trees), and long courses. Very diverse. One big water hazard if you want to show of your arm.

Went to the dog park. It is well kept, had benches under trees to sit, a hose to rinse dogs off, water fountain for dogs to drink, and separate places for big dogs and little dogs. Always have a great experience!

It is the most big park in Metairie, Louisiana. And near the new orleans. A quite place for resting and jogging. It is full of birds that you can feed them bread or something like that and also have a small lake inside.

Lafreniere is typically clean, not overly populated. Plenty of shade and nature to check out. Tons of birds too!

The park is very well kept and secure. Lots of fresh water for the little monsters and thankfully a hose that you can use to wash off your best friend after an afternoon of play!

A beautiful park with lots of activities. Dog park is nice, cute playground, concession stand, and a small lake with all sorts of birds. Beautiful walking paths.

We had a great time looking at the Christmas lights they were many it was only $5 to get in. There were two concession stands to get hot chocolate popcorn and many other treats. There was a box to write letters to Santa as well as a craft area to make your own ornaments. You can drive around and look at the lights as well as Park and walk around and see even more lights. There are many photo opportunities there to take pictures the area is safe and I recommend everyone go there.

Hidden beauty in an urban area. Mostly I never explored this park, always I used to just visit only a particular part of the park. This park has a bird sanctuary. There is a children water area, its a delight for the children in summer.

Very nice park that seems to be well taken care of. Big enough to walk a good 2 miles around and lots to do, but not too big. Especially liked the bird sanctuary and the wildlife in general. Went there with my sister when she visited, great activity for being with family but social distancing.

It was a beautiful Memorial Day for the park! Thanks to all the vmVeterans for their service and dedication to our freedom. Thank you to the families, especially to those of the fallen. The parts of the park I saw were clean and well manicured, as usual. The swans and other water fowl are looking healthy. People were so well behaved with their social distancing, most were in their vehicles! Those who were out walking and jogging were doing a great job too!

This is a huge park with a lot of water. Id like to give 5 stars but I cant because the water is nasty and there is bird poop everywhere. If youre a bird watcher this is the place for you. There are many different species of birds here with lots of ducks. This park is a great place for a picnic. The wildlife here is very friendly and will let you get close enough to take photos. Bring some binoculars. There are fish in the water in some areas of the park.

The playground is covered and fenced. The water in the lake is super dirty and stinky though. Lots of space to park the car.

The park has everything, but not enough parking for tournaments or even if there are lots of games. I had to walk 1/2 mile from where I parked my car. I know its hard to maintain public bathrooms, but the main one is tiny and pretty gross. The soccer fields are pretty well-maintained. The roads are good.

Great park, it rivals city park. It has a huge lake with birds, plenty of walking areas and a kids area.

Its an easy spot to bring the kids. There are two playgrounds, a carousel, a nature trail, etc..I wish the larger playground had more grass and less dirt and I wish the bathrooms were kept up. Theyre nauseatingly - but you definitely dont want to puke in there - gross.The nature trail is nice but they need a quarter machine for bird feed and some signs saying not to feed the animals bread. Birds get zero nutrition from bread but it fills them.. So they dont eat what they actually need. So having a bird sanctuary, where the birds are not taken care of, is kind of a joke.

We live in Virginia but come to Kenner to visit my husbands’ mom and this place has been my slice of heaven for years. Love the cats and the birds. I could walk around the trail a million times and never get tired of the place!

I really enjoy this park they have different activities for every season of the year. From sure concerts to Christmas light show. They also have a small area to work out with different machines for those that enjoy the outdoors. Totally recommend

Nice, calm, well kept park. There are a couple different play areas for kids to plan that are mostly fenced around to keep a better eye. theres even a fun little water park that doesnt really run during the winter, but its nice to know for summer time. Theres tons of space for kids to kick a ball or run and play tag or even areas for them to actually play officially with nets. Theres tons of trees for shade. Theres a nice large lake Thats pretty to look at. And even a concession stand close to the kids play area. ample parking during the winter, but Im not sure how full it would be during the summer if everyone is here. definitely a great stop and especially if you have kids and are trying to kill time before your flight takes off since the airport is right down the street.

We just did the drive through christmas lights celebration. It was very cool. The kids really enjoyed it. We went on the 22nd of Dec and the line to drive in was pretty thick. Didnt help that people didnt want to wait their turn and thought it best to cut in front of the cars who had been waiting for over 30 mins. Im all about generosity, particularly during the holidays, but I have no such feelings for those who believe their time is more important than the rest. I digress. The lights were awesome. Theres an area where you can park and walk around with the kiddos and purchase fair type refreshments. All in all, a good time and worth checking out.

Love!! The $1 Carousel and a totally affordable concession stand is AWESOME!! Went to feed the ducks, but fed the Seagulls instead, and low and behold..4 yr olds dont care what winged creatures eat.. theyre just happy to spend time with you!!

Beautiful lights! My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. Its worth the almost 2 hour drive from the other side of Baton Rouge. We go every year!

There is so much wildlife here and the trails around the lake are stuffed with Ducks, and Squirrels. Great place for picknicks!

Family friendly, neighborhood park. Great for biking, running, skating, or even walking.

Good place to go for a walk or run. Only bad thing is the pavement isnt level with the ground. So be careful if youre running around someone so you dont twist your ankle.

DISC GOLF COURSE REVIEW:Pretty horrible looking course which has some surprisingly decent holes. It plays in a large, crowded park. Most holes are open. A few trees in the fairway as per usual. The challenge comes from their thick, low hanging, branches which force players to keep their shots low to the ground. Average basket is around 330 feet from the tee give or take. No real rough or out of bounds to worry about. Easy to salvage a par on a bad shot. No “Wow” holes. Not a lot of variety. Favors lefties.Some glaring flaws hurt this course. Primarily the course flows through the busiest part of park. As a result people will be picknicking, playing soccer and lounging in the middle of the fairways. It makes some holes unplayable. NAVIGATION IS HORRIBLE. Very poor signage, nothing directs you to the next tee. Bring a map. Trash around several of the tee pads.Overall the course needs a lot of work. Tee signs and, barricades around the fairways would be huge. If you came at an unbusy time, and can rip a low shot in the 350 range you’ll like it here.

We went for the Christmas lights display. It is beautiful and the children love it. They do the same thing every year so it would be nice if they added a little something or changed a little something up but it is so worth going to see. Definitely get out of the car to walk around, that is the best part.

The park if full of mosquitos and algae. Such an unpleasant experience and trip.

Spacious, peaceful, beautiful park that has a concession stand which sells snowballs, nachos, and other sweets.

We went see the Christmas lights. It was crazy busy as it was the Sunday before Christmas. The main road was signed for directions, the staff at the entry were super nice. There was a police car stationed at the ticket area. There were staff directing traffic in the park. It was a beautiful lights display. The driving part was perfect and the walking part was beautiful. I liked the roped off area near the displays on the driving area so we could go back and walk it too. We rode the carrousel also which was a treat. At only $5 per car and $1 per person on the carrousel its very affordable for all size families. When we were there they were acting out the story of the Grinch on stage. Kids were writing letters to santa and dropping them in the box. Just so many activities going on and snacks to buy. The lines at the snack area was seriously long so we didnt stop for any. I absolutely love this and look forward to seeing this every year!

Bring my dog Brooke here almost daily. Its a huge dog park to let her run free. Best part is the water station to hose your dog off if they become muddy. Outside of the dog park are trails that are large enough to walk,jog,run, or bike comfortably with a dog on a leash.

Love the park! So much to see and do! Has a dog park for my Siberian Husky. Has exercise equipment free to use. The scenery is awesome. I love to feed the ducks! Its a great place to bring the family or just chill by oneself!

This park is very family friendly. Lots of room to play sports, have birthday parties, feed the animals and more. Loads of fun for the whole family. The carousel is AWESOME!

This park has been a gem as long as I lived in New Orleans. It has several gazebos and lots of space for kids to play. Our family would meet up here for birthday parties. This place is great for families. I love that during christmas they provide a spectacular Christmas light display. My family lives about 20 minutes away from the park on the other side of the river. We would drive to this park anyways just because it was so beautiful and has soooo much space.In 2013 I moved to Virginia and haven’t been back to this park ever since then. My aunt moved to the east side of the river and now lives about 8 minutes away from the park. We decided to go to reminiscence. That is exactly what happened and to my surprise the park had several upgrades. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we were not able to go into the main gazebo over the water most likely due to the distancing guidelines.Although we were not able to enjoy the main gazebo, we did enjoy this little trail that had an algae phenomenon. The surface looks hard because of the algae. I was so sure that it was fake, nonetheless it was real. We threw some rocks at the water to check if it was really. The ducks seemed to LOVE the water. I still love this park and can’t wait to see what they do with it in the future !

Its safe, its free, and its big! We take both of our dogs there and weve always had a great time! Its not crowded. There is ample parking. There are water fountains for people and dogs. There are poopoo bag stands for waste disposal. Trash cans available. There are also 2 areas. One for dogs 22lbs and less. And one for bigger dogs. The dog park is closest to the veterans blvd side of the park.

My all time favorite park! Love the trails and scenery !

I drove thru 2 months ago&saw 30-50 seagulls. Now there are none. Last week I met a lady there who feeds the critters. She informed me that 2 weeks ago they added chemicals 2 get rid of algae. It ended up getting rid of algae but also killed 52 seagulls in 1 day. Now, my picture of mama duck with 13 babies cant go into the water because its poisoned. Theres no fish either. I dont understand why they didnt buy a ton of goldfish instead to eat the algae & get rid of it naturally instead of killing &/or hurting&harming the wildlife. I pray that they learn & take notes from from this hard hitting lesson!!! Maybe in time the water will be safe.

Love all the different types of birds there Are! We bring bread to feed the ducks, geese, and swans they love it. Have named 1 set of the 2 sets of Swans...Cinderella and Prince Charming!! Always look forward to walking our dog Link and feeding the birds.

Quite a fun little park!! There were mosaics built into the sidewalk where repairs were needed, it allowed plenty of sun, had many benches and a few areas for our small group to sit together. It was also located in a great area!!

Two separate play areas...one for all dogs and one only for small dogs. Great place for them to socialize and have fun. Plenty of water to keep them hydrated and wet if its too hot. Theres a walking trail in the all dogs play area that you can walk around while your dog plays. Very nice facility

Me and my dogs love the bark park!It has lots of space for your dog to run, water fountains (for you and your dog) benches, poop bags, trash cans, a big dog area and a small dog area. I highly suggest it.(if) you have a aggressive dog, please dont bring him/her here.

Beautiful place. I only wish I could have seen it at night. I saw a lot of light features, that would probably be amazing. Lots of wildlife to look at. And overall really fun.

My child and I always enjoy the calm days at this park just to relax and take a walk enjoying nature. They really need to fix those woods bridge overpasses over the water. The boards are so loosen up that they actually comes up. Overall love the park.

Awesome place to bring the kids . To chill out. Place used to be the Old Jefferson Downs Racetrack. As a kid I live across the canal from it. On a Halloween night I saw flames and Fire. Place burn down. They save the horses do. Couple chickens might not have been happy. Is also upon you can fish catfish and bass and perch. In their little somewhat large pond that goes around the park. Have a carousel. For kids on the weekends. Got to check it out.
