We had too many people. It would be best for three or four or so. The theme was a lot of fun, the story was engaging. The guy who got us started did a great job. Over all we had a lot of fun. People in our group said theyd do it again.
Took a group of six to do their Star Wars room last week and it was lots of fun. We have done multiple escape rooms across the state and west coast and this one was memorable for its theme and puzzle originality. Be aware that there is quite a bit more math involved in this room than you might expect in a typical escape room, by nothing that gets in the way of the fun. The staff was friendly and played along well during the game itself, especially when checking in with us over the radio. Providing prop lightsabers in game for flashlights was a clever touch. My critiques, sans any spoilers, were due to the roundabout nature of the clues. There was one clue in particular that was easy to miss and very well hidden in the moment as it blended in to the natural decoration of the room too well. We ended up getting stuck for nearly 20 minutes trying to find it and ended up needing to ask for a hint. There was also a puzzle using a decoder that was rather counterintuitive. Each person in our group attempted it multiple times only to ask for a hint which gave us instructions that went against what the clues implied. But these reasons are likely what makes it the harder of the two rooms they currently offer. Still a fun experience! I can definitely see us going back again if we are in the area.
This was the best escape room I’ve been to. Having been to about 15 rooms in the last 3 years. These rooms are clever, well thought out, and good for the whole family. Definitely a must for younger kids, as it is super child friendly. A lot of rooms are tougher for kids because they cannot dynamically think their way through a situation. These rooms are very right in front of you but still challenging. Do not miss this room if you’re looking for an opportunity to try out an escape room for the first time. Value is EXTREMELY good. Don’t fret over the price of the room, the room is worth twice what you pay.
We had a great time at Action Hero Studios! It was our first escape room experience and we came away feeling challenged yet victorious. Had some good laughs and ah-ha moments. I would definitely suggest this for most age groups. Our group was two adults and a high schooler. Would work great for younger kids too.
Our whole family had so much fun! The superhero room was so creative, well done, and interactive. Lots of attention to detail. We loved it.
It was fun . I would not ever recommend more then 4 people max in the room. We had 14 with 5 being kids and only 3 or so people could work the puzzle the rest just sat down and waited for a puzzle to activate on other side of room . Stick to 4 people everyone has fun . More then that be prepared for boredom and frustration.
Fun and relatively easy escape room. We did Empire and had fun with 4 of us including a 13 year old who was able to help with and solve the clues.
We went here with our family and we had a blast it was so much fun we almost got it escaped but we didnt and we will do it again this place is awesome for a family and even just for a couple my children are six 8 12 13 and 60 and we loved it
Our familys first escape room experience! Great for the whole family! Attendant was very helpful and nice!
We went last night and had a blast! We had three kids (ages 4-9), and four adults. This was our first escape room experience and everyone loved it. Our two older boys were able to comprehend most of the tasks and participate, and it was challenging enough for us adults too. We didnt use any hints, but we barely finished with less than 15 minutes left. The staff was very friendly, and overall we had a great time! Would recommend to any family unit or groups with younger children (since all ages are allowed here).
Fun little place.
Good, family activity! The location is in Superstition Springs Mall and was very convenient. Our family of four, including a teenager and preteen, had fun! We plan to go back and experience the other room.
The only problem I had was that they did not accept card so the employee wanted me to give her boss my card number over the phone which I was not comfortable with. Since I didnt carry cash, I was just going to leave. Then I asked could we just pay for it on the website (I dont know why they didnt think of this). We eventually got in there and had a wonderful time.
We had a great time celebrating my youngest Brothers birthday party. Most of the kids had not ever done an escape room. The kids loved the talking robot-D6. It was awesome to see the kids work together to figure out the clues. I had to help facilitate putting some of them together and we did need so me clues. This was a great way to celebrate a birthday for an 11 year old boy.
My first escape room and it was a wonderful experience. The room looked great, with fun animatronics, good sound effects, and plenty of distractions to throw you off base. Did need help from the manager to solve a few of the clues, but had great satisfaction coming up with a majority on our own. Definitely have the escape room bug now! Thank you!
So much fun! We did the 13 & up room. I brought two 14 yr olds, & a 13 yr old... it was super challenging, but doable! The ambience was awesome, and the puzzles or really good. The man running this escape room, was very personable and gave great clues! We definitely plan to return!
I have nothing bad to say about the staff or the set up. Very friendly and professional and the room and set up was impressive upon first glance. We had a party of 6. 4 adults who have done several escape rooms in the past, and 2 children who were veterans (8 and 16). Overall we were all disappointed in the experience. There were no riddles just finding the numbered and labeled clues around the room....almost too easy and we completed the mission with 33 minutes to spare! To be honest, we were not even clear what the mission was to begin with! When it ended, my 8 year old said that was it?. Yes we asked for hints, because even when we figured out the next step, it was not clear how to execute it. Plus, because it was a linear puzzle, everyone had to be working on the same part of the puzzle at the same time, making it frustrating for a large group with many opinions. Other rooms I have done elsewhere have several different riddles and clues that work together and can be worked on simultaneously by members of your party so everyone feels like they are contributing...not so here. We were excited at the superhero concept, and thought this would be an exciting Fathers Day outing for all ages, but left us all feeling underwhelmed. Rewrite the clues and puzzles and the concept is great! Also having two stories in the same room made it confusing as well...there are clues you have to ignore if they dont pertain to your backstory...just split the room in two, and give each story a designated room. Lot son bells and whistles, no meat. Next time I will spend the extra money and go to some of the tried and true places we have tried before.
Took some friends out to this escape room and we had a BLAST!! Very friendly staff went over all the information necessary to escape. The props were top notch and overall it was very fun!! I would definitely recommend this escape room to anyone!!!We will definitely be back!!
Great idea and the person running it was very nice. However, each theme was in the same room and there wasnt much direction to go. We wouldnt have found any clues without the help calls. For a beginner group just looking to have fun, Im not sure this is the place to go.
I came here with my husband and our kids and we had so much fun. The Anti-Villain escape was so creative. This was something we could all do together no matter our age. Its a very family friendly environment the owner Joe was very friendly and did a great job!
Very family friendly and the kids loved it! Interactive puzzles, not just locks like some other escape rooms. Large room for kids to explore and still challenging for the parents too.
So much fun, great family fun! Cant wait to do it again
The room looks homemade with cheap pvc pipe and pkastic totes all around. The hints and clues were non existent. I have done an escape room prior and loved it. This one was boring and confusing. Not tricky cant find the clues confusing. It was a waste of money. Spend a littke extra and go to a real escape room. If i hadnt done one in the past before this I would have been completely turned off of them.
Fun time with the kids!
